Hey Russ, Thanks mate. You need to have worked for NASA before you can drive your cars. If I decide to buy a dedicated track car in the bear future, you'll be the first one I call.

Thanks Melv, Much appreciated.

Thanks Col and Jase. I appreciate your comments. Hopefully I will be back out before too long. I've got my eye on an M3 at the moment - should be good to see how it goes on the track if I get it. No doubt I will miss the GTR and have to go back to the dark side at some stage. I still keep looking at 34's.

Hey Dave, The why is -I'm just gettin a little older. Looking to get into either an RS4 Audi or M3. Something quick but not monsterous. Will probably still have a play with mods on the Euro and maybe look at getting a dedicated track car in the near future. We can negotiate for the inclusion of the Works wheels and track tyres. NEVER. I know they are quick - just not my style of car. Cheers Peter

Time has come to sell the beast and move on to other things. I currently have my black R33 GTR up for sale. Many of those who have attended Mountain Runner's Time Attack days will be familiar with my car. It is currently the second quickest road registered GTR on the circuit. It drives beautifully for an every day driver (which it currently is) and steps up to the task on the track. The car currently runs a comfortable 17lbs of boost but is capable of running a lot more with its internals fully forged. I have provided a list of some of the more major modifications. Head porting and bottom end assembly were all carried out through Stone Brothers Racing. The engine is rock solid. Asking price is $45,000-00. Engine in this car alone is worth more than $20K. There is a full review of the car on TimeAttack.com.au here http://www.timeattack.com.au/feature_cars.php Please contact me via email [email protected] or ring on 0419 641 071 if you are interested. How To Identify A True R33 V-spec

There is no additional factory bracing in a V-Spec. -
How To Identify A True R33 V-spec
maccattack replied to woza01's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Easiest way to tell is have a look at the rear diff. V-Spec's have fins on the diff for cooling - Non V-Spec's do not. I must say that when I was first looking for my GTR, I HAD to have a V-Spec because they were the better car (supposedly). Ended up with a standard GTR - couldn't be happier. The average mortal would not be able to tell the difference in performance between the two. Anyone who says they can is pulling their pud!!! Look for the best car (condition) - not whether it is V-Spec or not. -
Falken Azenis Rt 215
maccattack replied to godzl1975's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The Azenis 215's weren't a bad tyre but definitely suffer from heat cycling fairly badly. I'm faily sure ther don't make them any more and the new 615's are a much better tyre, not only because of the tread pattern but also the tyre compound. I ran 215's on a Mini Cooper S for the track originally - liked them so kept them on for daily use as they are an approved road tyre. After a couple of months they went as hard as a rock. The compound goes off due to the constant heat up and cool down. I now run 615's on my GTR as daily tyres. Chalk and cheese comparison. I wouldn't waste my time with the 215's. -
Whiteline Sway Bars
maccattack replied to DFAULT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You actually have three settings even though there are only 2 holes either end. Soft - both holes cloest to the ends of the bar(outer holes) Medium - one outer hole and one inner hole Hard - both inner holes The bar does not have to be balanced - it is simply a torsion bar determined by length. -
Charity Auction - Drag Racing Bra - Breast Cancer $$$
maccattack replied to 2rismo's topic in For Sale (Other Items)
Good on ya Kel. It's a good cause. -
I had an intermittant problem similar a while ago. Car would stall (almost), then run fine, then be shit again for no reason. Changed everything from AFM's to pump to CAS to wiring etc. Turned out to be the connection on the top of the PFC. Because of the centre bolt, the outer pins would lose contact as the plug rocked back and forward. Put large zip ties around the ends of the PFC and plug. See if it helps.

Hi all, Looking for a R33 GTR gearbox in relatively good condition. Preferably local - but will look interstate as well. Cheers Peter

Seeing as how this bra won't fit my man-boobs - and I can't see my wife wearing it, I will donate the $250-00 (someone pm me and let me know the details of where to send the money). The bra is now up for auction again. Who will start the bidding this time around. -
Azenis Rt615 Any Good?
maccattack replied to GTSR22's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Snowman - I had the 215's on a Mini Cooper S. The 615's are by far a better tyre. You will be impressed. -
Azenis Rt615 Any Good?
maccattack replied to GTSR22's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I currently use these tyres (275/35/18's) on my GTR as street tyres. Very good every day tyre. Wear is good, traction is good and price (surprisingly) is good. I was originally using Yokohamas AVS sports which were hiddeously priced - around $600-00 per corner. Thought they were crap by the way. The Azenis 615's were about $370-00. Grip level (especially when new) is awesome. They are wearing slightly quicker than standard, but at the price I don't mind so much. Don't seem to be affected by the constant heat cycling like the 215's used to. I would recommend them as a street tyre. If you are considering for the track, I could name plenty better. Gotta say, the aggressive tread pattern looks pretty fat on the car. -
As Duncan has said - standard - or are you talking modified?
