The I5 6500 doesn't get hot, it literally runs at like 80° with the stock intel cooler under full load. Most games with the stock intel cooler will run @ like 60-70°. Putting that into perspective the 6700k runs at like 120° and will literally fry itself/throttle itself, hence needing a better cooler (and the reason it doesn't come with an Intel cooler) "overclocking is a load of shit" again shows lack of knowledge, ignoring the fact the 6700 has a higher base clock, overclocking is massively useful. You can push 1-2 years more using overclocking. Hell my old PC lasted another 3 years pushing it from a 2.9ghz to a 4.2ghz. if someone is spending 3k on a computer they are not putitng a 1070 in.. it's 100% worth the extra $200 for the GPU. Considering its the most important part of gaming....

Will flick a PM.

if you want me to spend more than 10 seconds on building a pc i can, those examples i literally slapped together, and i could tailor it for what you want.
-
Honestly the real world difference is Shit FK all between 2400Mhz all the way up to 3200. If it's the same price, select whatever lol.

I don't think anywhere actually sells 1 stick. In theory it would work but stick to twin kits lol

Explaining the way PC's work can be tricky. It's not all about speeds, architecture plays a big part. There is a reason Intel processors Benchmark better than AMD when the AMD have a heap more power.
-
I went the I7K because the CPU is what bottlenecks you, and then forces a new PC build, so i usually go one of the top options. I do overclock my CPU when they start to struggle, get another year or so out of it. But yes you can save dropping the K, and dropping back to the I5 if need be. But the I7 won't necessarily help you with gaming. The i5 6600 would be fine. GPU was brand choice for me. SSD M2. i will explain. The M2 slots are limited if they use the SATA interface. Basically an M2 that uses SATA will be no faster than a normal SSD. Get a PCI-E interface M2 slot and they are quicker, alas double the price. It's just something to be aware of. I think the Samsung Pro M2's are a decent price at the moment. Intel are about to release another line up for PCI-E M2's. HDD's again are personal preference. I was just doing a generic thing for pricing. Get whatever you want really. Watercooling>Air cooling every day of the week (why are cars water cooled?) But it's usually more expensive. These days the all in ones are really good, i would go an all in 1 water cooler over an air cooler. Unless i buy the hyper 212. because cheap. I have a Hyper 212 in my photography grunt at home. Ram ill explain.. the higher the "speed" the longer the latency. Basically you get no gain for going "faster" ram. 2400 is the sweet spot. 16GB is also the sweet spot. let me know if you do have any questions man, i do this stuff for a living (well used too, i'm an SDM these days)

Kaby Lake will be available at the end of the year. Either or in regards to new vs old. Depends what the prices do. It's an incremental upgrade so not a huge one. But in theory the current line should drop a little bit. Just something to keep in mind.
-
But i said it before... New line of processors is out soon. I would hold off building any PC for the moment.

If you want to save a bit of money... Removed the wireless card for comparisons. Best value for Cooling power CPU cooler and a cheaper HDD....You could downgrade the MB if you want.. But i wouldnt. I can put my hand on my heart and say you will not get a better PC for the money than this. For gaming/longevity. Cowboy that computer doesn't even compare to the one i linked. Not even close. You have put all the money in the wrong items. That PC build makes no sense. That PC is already a dead end. Why would you put a H105 on an I5 6500? you are spending $150 on a cooler for a processor that doesn't emit any heat. Honestly not to be rude... you have no idea what you are talking about. If you ignore the wireless card there is like $180 difference. P.S people i work with (in I.T) are raging at that build. Just FYI.

Usually the fans in psu are terrible. The fan in my old psu in my old desktop was the loudest thing in my PC. So I changed it to a noctua. Good times.
-
Just put a better fan in the PSU lol

Isn't it funny how things work. I build on average 1-2 a month and have for the past 6 or so years. I pretty much always go Jigabyte motherboards and i have never had a DOA.
-
Technically 2 slots of Ram will always run bettter than 4. Only reason i went that cooler is the reviews, the all in ones are really good these days. And the last PC i built for a work colleague i had 2 DOA MSI items. So i stick my Gigabyte these days. But the MSI does still review really well. Personally if it was me i would put a Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo air cooler on it

if that's the case 16gb will be plenty
-
I put this together in two minutes. Cheaper and better than the current one you made. Total price without a case is $2303. It's also worth noting that the new Intel line of processors should be announced soon, Kaby lake is expected to release in like 2-3 months. When looking into M2 SSD's you have to get a PCI-E version. If you get a SATA M2 they are no better than a normal SSD. 1000W is still massive overkill unless you want to run SLI in the future?
-
Do you use it for anything else? Photo/video editing or purely gaming?
-
Don't go 8gb ram these days. 16gb is the sweet spot for $$ value.
-
Also don't buy a 1200w PSU with that setup.. Or even consider a 1080 unless you like wasting money. the 1060 is even overkill (unless 4k gaming, and no games are built properly for it anyway) by the time the 1070 can't play stuff, the 1080 will struggle just as much and it will be time for an upgrade. Personally i'd stick with the 1070 being in the middle of the range.

That is a lot of money for a gaming PC....The last one i build was Mitx so i had the extra prices there.... SilverStone SX600-G SFX Modular 600W Power Supply $175.00 $175.00 1 Noctua NH-L12 Low Profile CPU Cooler $89.00 $89.00 1 Western Digital WD Black WD7500BPKX 750GB $89.00 $89.00 1 Intel 535 Series 240GB 2.5in SSD $155.00 $155.00 1 Intel Core i7 6700K $519.00 $519.00 1 Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 Motherboard $279.00 $279.00 1 Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2133C13R 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Red $179.00 $179.00 And i think i paid $70 for my Mitx Lian Li case and $500 for a GPU.... So round about 2g... To me it looks like you went "what is the best/most expensive... go!" if you spend more than $2200 on a gaming PC you are overspending for the sake of it IMO.
-
I did take mine out last week/on the weekend. I expect it will make it's way out a bit more soon. So you have another 2-3+ months to go...

Waiting for it to stop bloody raining. Also lurking.

For the real Nismo nuts..... http://www.nismo.co.jp/products/catalogue_2016/#page=61 Full Nismo TI exhaust announced for the R32 and R34 GTR's. Priced at a nice $7000 for the front pipes back, and an additional $3500 for the front pipes it is eye watering expensive.
