  1. ADM will always be worth more than a run of the mill GTR, i just suspect the nismo and the N1 will be worth more. ADM might eventually be on par with a good V spec 2, only time will tell.
  2. Yeah as i said though i suspect the ADM will drop off a little bit as the overseas markets start to decide the prices, as outside of AU no one really cares for them.
  3. Question is... How high can the Z tune go?
  4. The 32 had Motorsport domination, a cult following from movies, and it was the original and only Godzilla. I realistically don't see the 33 being worth more than a 32, as it really didn't do anything special. The 32 had the motorsport domination, the 34 was really thanks to fast and the furious and the like. The 33, didn't really have much though, it was just the middle child. However the prices of the 34 i think will drag both up, i pretty much always expect a standard like for like GTR (so not including Z tune, LM 33, V specs) i expect the 34 will always be worth roughly double what a 32 of equivalent condition is. With the different variants moving from there. Like wise i think 33's will be worth 10-20% less than a 32 of equal value, depending on the price of the 32. I suspect that gap will get a little bigger as they keep going up. Rarity is possible that they will sit on par with the 32, but realistically the only thing driving the 33's price is the 34+32. I don't think ive ever met someone that specifically wanted a 33, usually it's "i wanted a 34 but couldn't afford, and i wanted something a bit newer than a 32". Really there is no way either will ever catch the 34, that thing will be nuts. I'm kicking myself for not getting on when they were in the 30's. When you consider there are already Z- Tunes going for Phase 3 GTHO money when they peaked, you realise these things have a long way to go. The thing that will really start to drive the prices, is when Japan has exported them all out, and they start to want them back again. @GTR-N1 Terry i think made a comment about the Japs not realising how special these cars are (specifically the N1), and half expects the rare models to make their way back to Japan at some point. I'm expecting the top sellers: #1 Z-Tune #2 R34 N1 #3 R32 N1/R34 GTR V specs #4 400R / R34 GTR #5 R32 Nismo / R33 N1 #6 R32 ADM / R33 LM #7 R33 V specs / R32 GTR #8 R33 GTR Just my guestimate of what the prices might do, im 50/50 on if the 400R would be higher. Maybe move the 400R up even with the R32 N1? Eventually the ADM R32 will fall to the rare overseas models, as the prices will be driven globally, not by the Aust market. The ADM might sit higher, don't know. Only a guess based upon what i see by rarity/how much demand there is. Only time will tell my friend, the next 5 or so years will really paint the picture of what these will do.
  5. Usually the ceiling is around the same point in age birds. That being around 40-50. My dads charger is still going up in value and its 45 years old. You can't always get a rare car going up but the GTR is pretty much a proven formula. Your question shouldnt be will they go up, rather how high can they go? I don't second guess that N1's and Nismos will be worth upwards of 1 Mil aud at some point. I said it before and I'll say it again, speak to anyone over 50 and they will tell you its nothing new.
  6. And 1 side is done. Overall pretty happy. Could have spent more time on it, but I discovered that the rubber had actually sagged, would require bog and a heap of sanding to fix. So I'll just wait until they are make again next year.... Hopefully anyway lol. The drivers one is heaps worse, so let's see how I go on that side.
  7. Probs in another 10 years ish for that. Maybe less
  8. yeah i'll admit that i pay more attention to the 32. But the same principal applies, i'd say the 33 won't peak as high as the 32, which won't peak as high as the 34. Only time will tell how high they will go, but anyone with a GTR should be holding onto it. To the point i decided to withdraw from my mortgage to stop me from selling mine.
  9. This is literally nothing new, ask any car enthusiast over the age of 50 and it's exactly the same as every other rare, collectible car.
  10. Of course they will follow suit. Look at the Falcons and how many replicas there are, and GTS-T's have gone up. They have more than doubled in price since i bought my GTR. you could get them for 6k around then, now they are all selling for an easy 12, hell looking on carsales atm the cheapest is 10k.
  11. The figure i was quoting takes into account inflation in it. So when they peak (say 500,000), 500k won't be worth as much as it is now. So yes it is complicated. And you do realise it isn't a linear curve right? Housing market and cars are very different. For example: in 2011 i bought my GTR for $12,000. It is now worth 4x that. Now i don't know about you, but my houses have not gone up 4x since 2011... Well maybe Sydney lol
  12. No difference to any other classic car in history. All of them had huge $$ spent and all of them needed maintaining. Same as above, zero difference to any other classic. In fact i would argue it's better that they are not just Australia as the world will drive the market. Ill give you an interesting little statistic. Typically speaking classic cars end up between 20x and 30x their original purchase value. The R32 was $31,000 USD in 1989, about $40,000 AUD if we use todays conversion.... If we go ultra conservative and say it's 5x (which i will suspect it will go much higher) you are still looking at a $200,000 car. TL;DR these cars have a LONG way to go.
  13. Looking at trends of classic cars, these cars still have a way to go birds. They have really only just started to go up, realistically to hit the peak you need to own them for at least another 10 years.
  14. I didn't realise when i ordered them that they come with the felt runners on them. So that actually saved me a heap of f**king around as mine were completely buggered. Now to get the scratches removed from the drivers window! This weekend ill be attempting to restore the passenger side top weather strip. Hopefully it works, otherwise i'll buy brand new for myself as a christmas present! I have a new contact that can get OEM parts very cheap, which is a nice help!
  15. Put them both on. Will get some better pics when the top half goes back on. And yes I need to put my other dash in.
  16. These got here quick! About 2 days after being shipped. Didn't realise how bad mine were till I got the new ones.
  17. Probably because they get a shit ton of people interested, so they think they can bump the price up
  18. Yeah a 5050 split is probably pushing it. I drive my GTR like 1 time a fortnight lol
  19. I have stated this many times and have confirmed it MANY times with NRMA themselves. Can we sticky this at the start of the bloody thread? The PDS actually states that "used as a primary mode of transport or used on a regular basis – for example, commuting daily to and from work" Meaning as long as it isn't the primary mode, and not done on a regular basis you can do it. NRMA have themselves confirmed that it is more than OK to occasionally drive it to work and the shops, as they understand old cars need to be run. They said as long as it isn't done on a regular basis, and you have another car that you can sue it is fine.
  20. Doubt the values will drop lol
  21. Then with money you make from said house, in 12 months, refinance and get car.
