Very valid questions, and your right its very good for everyone to know. compression across the rest of the motor is outstanding, 170psi, 170, 168, 170, 170 and then cylinder #6 35psi and 50psi on a wet test. first time i did the tests myself i got in the vicinity of 150 but then i noticed my gauge was a little screwed, so i just had it check properly, and then checked again myself with a new gauge to verify the 170psi readings. The crack is more of a fracture in piston #6, and the rings which were giving the low reading , The valves and cylinder are fine, not bent or anything. The cause of the problem was a faulty boost crontroller solenoid ( $30 - $50 ), spiking of the boost i was told led to this. well yes i mean it works out perfectely for anyone looking to do a rebuild anyway or who has a engine ready for a gtr or something similar... my quote and intentions were to return the car to its normal state with all the mods still ofcourse. so anyways... basically pull apart the pistons and replace anything surrounding that is needed e.g rings , im not 100% certain what bearings would be used. im pretty sure i would have sourced some decent looking used parts where i could, reason being it was fine handling the power if it wasn't for the boost controller solenoid. i know people may disagree but sometimes money isnt always available when needed. A close friend quoted to do this for me if i chose to go down the path myself, i was going to forge the motor if it didn't sell but with certain issues at the this point, im not going to anymore. im going to sell/swap the way it is. Another update - $1100-$1300 repair quote, to replace pistons and supporting items. Will be selling the car as is from now on, any inspections welcome to verify this. i have some pretty decent offers for swaps which i am considering so im happy with the way things are going. havnt got the money anymore to be investing anything further into this.

Selling my white R33 GTR V-spec. Specs: Garrett 2850-5rs turbos Haltch pro Ecu 1000cc Sard Injectors Full Exhaust System from turbo Apr Racing Headstuds ACL race series Bearings Walbro 800hp Fuel Pump 125mm core Hybrid Upgraded Intercooler Upgraded Clutch System New tyres 110000kms driven. Major service has already been completed at 98000kms. Serviced recently 109000kms. Slight front bar chip marks from alot of highway driving. Receipts included, dyno sheets included. 345awkw @ 16psi 290akw @ 12psi problem with the car is i have a slight crack in piston 6, i have had it diagnosed and checked with a camera, it requires a set of pistons,seals etc. i am in the middle of sourcing these parts online, and having them on standby if it doesn't sell the way it is,i have a few posts in regards to this, so check them out. Compression is excellent on all others. Its been like this for around a month now, finding it very hard to find time to get this sorted. i will eventually get the time to sort this out myself and sell this for a decent amount, but im happy to cut my loses right now and have offers thrown my way, even for a swap and money my way as the point of this sale is for money. I dont know where to begin with price, once i get an exact quote for repair i can go from there. i have been told around $800- $2000. If i start receiving stupid comments i will take this off for sale and re-advertise it for a higher price when i have it fixed and as i will forge the motor. im happy to sort something out with the right person. need a set of pistons, doesn't matter if they are standard or not. anything else with them would help , seals, bearings whatever it for a r33 gtr , im sure the gtr's are interchangeable with eachother

Cylinder 1 - 170 2 - 170 3 - 168 4 - 170 5 - 165 6 and 30 psi ( 45psi wet test ) slight crack in the piston 6. dont have the time to be running everywhere any recommendations or anyone willing to give me an exact diagnosis and quote to start it getting fixed. i was going to put it up for sale before this shit happened.

Well yeh i guess i wont until until its fully taken apart or some pro looks at it. i got told that it may even be the bearings or rings... so lets see how it goes. if anyone has come across the same problem just pop me a message here so i can have better idea of the issue. thanks

Had the car checked over by someone local as i didn't want to drive it far. What i got back was the 6th cylinder on the rb26 was gone, that piston had melted compression was somewhere in the vicinity of 150psi on first 5 and 30psi on the 6th I need to put into an actual workshop where they deal with things like this. anyone have any ideas or experienced this before.. bare in mind i've changed the plugs already and checked the coil packs. thanks
