  1. Yeah there is heaps of space in the rear. About 40mm between the tyre and the strut and 26mm from the rim to the outer guard. Yeah it would be good to try out your rims, but I think I've pretty much run out of time now. Flying out tomorrow The days go so fast. Today I was running around to fix a split CV boot. Grrr
  2. OK, I think I've settled on a set of Work XT7s I'm looking at going 18x8.5 +32. I'm just a tad concerned about clearance with the front suspension. I've measured there is about 22mm between the current tyres and the suspension currently. The current tyres are 225s which are a bit wider (about 8mm overhang) than the rim. If I go to these wheels it will give me 21mm less clearance, which means 9mm between the rim and suspension. Is this cutting it too fine? I'd have to go for tyres that are not wider than the rim (probably 235s). The Work USA site lists a +25 offset which would be idea, but you can't seem to get these out of Japan. The lower offsets (+20 or +12) are available for 9.5" rims, but I think this will be pushing it a bit far. What do you guys reckon? I really don't wanna have to go to spacers or something stupid like that.
  3. I once rang Famous Classics and they told me "sorry, we will not ensure Stageas because they are high risk vehicles." then she goes on to say "we insure many imports like SUPRAS"... as if a Stag is less risk than a Supra.... I'm sure a Supra would be much easier to write off...
  4. Yeah, I think 9s or 9.5s might be a bit extreme for what I need. I guess I should be patient... Thanks for the offer mate. I'm actually home this week, so might keep it in mind.. Kinda thinking about Work XD9s (in stock) or even Rota P1s at the moment.
  5. Time to dig up an old thread... Very interesting read, I just read all 13 pages! I have just realised that the tyres on my 260RS are completely stuffed, so it's time to get new rims. We were thinking of getting Work XT7s and I was thinking 18x8.5 +32 or +20 would be the go. I think +32 would work a bit better on the front. The bummer is, he has none in stock and I'm really not sure if I should be waiting 6-8 weeks with the current tyres He does have 18 x9.5 +38 for the rear, but I think they will sit too far in and hit the strut. Anyone else agree? The other option is something like a Rota P1, but still throwing around ideas at the moment. Standard 260RS rim is 17x7", correct? +30 front, +20 rear. Wife has the car at the moment, so I can't double check.
  6. Hmm glad to hear some feedback on a Stag with -7s. I was a little worried they would be laggier than stock. In the bigger Stag, responsiveness down low is really needed to get all that weight around.
  7. Hmmm one of those filter relocation kits would certainly be nice. I swear at the Nissan engineers everytime I remove my oil filter and it empties itself down the side of the block. Sorry, bit off topic, but is there any trick to change these filters without making a mess?
  8. Stock injectors are 440cc. 550cc or 700cc should be fine. You can certainly get ones to fit the standard fuel rail. I think I read somewhere that Nismo AFMs are just Z32s with the correct plug to fit on a GTR. Another option for ECU is Vipec. I'm running one on my 260RS. Plug straight into the factory loom and use a MAP sensor, so no need to worry about AFMs. Runs like standard and can control the factory boost solenoid or upgraded solenoid for boost control from the ECU If you want knock protection you can buy an external knock amp to feed into the plugin ECU.
  9. I am also intruiged by the -7 vs -9 debate. I am concerned about how much lag they have over a stock turbo. I have a Stagea 260RS, so lugging around an extra 200kg than a GTR. Any more lag than standard is bad. One of these days I'll bite the bullet and get a new set of turbos, but will need injectors, fuel pump and clutch as a minimum
  10. Haha, that story sounds familiar
  11. Damn, there's cup holders? I've always thought they should be in that position, but my S1 doesn't have them.
  12. Dunno if this has been covered or anyone has seen one, but when I got my 260RS it has a CD and MiniDisc player in the dash (single DIN). It was a white/grey colour and didn't quite look right. It had no brand on it. The CD didn't work so I replaced it. I was very surprised to discover that it actually had Nissan sticker on it and plugged into the factory loom. Must have been a factory option...
  13. I've got a bung just before the cat on my RB26, just after the 2 dump pipes merge in the front pipe. Now I just need to get a pernament wideband O2 sensor
  14. Nice to see the progress coming along. It's gonna be awesome when it's on the road again.
  15. Very nice mate I wonder how that offset would go on my 260RS since I have the narrower rear cradle...
  16. I have a S1 260RS which has a S2 Momo steering wheel. The jap owner had put a non-airbag wheel into it. The aussie guy I bought it off put the S2 steering wheel in. He didn't realise it was different to S1. I'm not complaining
  17. If you have a look on his website, there is a link to Youtube vids Very impressive mate. Can't wait to see this thing in action. I bet it will be absolute ball to drive
  18. For mine I just took them all off and took them into Repco. They matched up ones they have in stock with no problems. Mine is a 260RS, but RB25 should be fine.
  19. Great work, I can collect it from you. My parents live in Wellington Point (not too far from vicky Point), so I can swing pasted their place this weekend to collect it. Thanks for your help. What is your mobile number so that I can arrange a time with you?
  20. Hi mate, any chance you might still have the LHS mirror and black mounting arm (mainly after the black mounting arm)? Getting desperate to find one. Live in Brissy and happy to pay freight. Cheers.
  21. Hi mate, any chance you might still have the LHS mirror and black mounting arm. My mounting arm snapped while moving house. Live in Brissy and will pay for freight. Cheers.
