  1. Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't have a set of coilpacks to swap over, but I should be able to get some from my mechanic. When the first ignitor died, he just swapped it over with a known good one, and it all came good. So no need to investigate any further. I was away last week, so just bit the bullet and bought the new one to get the car going for my wife. I'll take a good look at the earths tomorrow. Might need to look into that Nissan warranty... thanks
  2. I also pulled out a coil and spark plug to check I was getting a spark (grounded it on the coil mounting plate). Got nothing...
  3. Hey guys, I'm after your advice. I have a Stagea 260RS with an RB26DETT from an R33 GTR. 2 weeks ago the car just cut out. We found that the ignitor module was dead, so ordered a new one from Nissan for $800! The car ran fine for 2 weeks and then the same thing happened again last night. Not happy! Any idea what might be killing the ignitor module? I pulled out the coil packs and measured the resistance on the primary and they were all around 0.8ohm, which looks good. I checked the grounding, power supply and also checked I was getting a good signal from the ECU and it all looks good. Any ideas? I really don't want to put another ignitor in there and then have it die on me again.
  4. Impressive list. I know what I'll be doing when I get home next week I didn't see closed loop boost control mentioned. I thought it was meant to be coming out with this firmware release. Any news?
  5. I've spotted a white one in West End, Brisbane a few times. Very nice
  6. Awesome. Thanks heaps for your detailed reply. I'll have to check it out when I get home from work in a few weeks
  7. How do you find out what this sensor is reading? Is there a way to press buttons and make the current temp display on the aircon screen. The R32 did this, but I haven't found how to do it on the Stag.
  8. Do a search on how to get the ECU fault codes. If that comes up clear, but you still think your O2 sensor is dead, then go for a drive and monitor the voltage of the O2 sensor(s). When CRUISING (not when boosting) you should see the voltage of the O2 sensor flick between low and high constantly. THis is how the ECU maintains ~14.7:1 when cruising. On my old GTI-R you could put the ECU into a mode where the check engine light would flash when rich (or maybe lean cant remember), so you would see the light flash constantly on/off while cruising. This shows the O2 sensor is healthy. I'm not sure if Skyline ECUs have this feature.
  9. My Vipec is just teed off the FPR vacuum line. No dramas here. I've been considering moving it to the rear vacuum line where the stock boost gauge is used, just so that it looks tidier. It looks like that point would be at the same pressure. Anyone got any feedback?
  10. It might be worth PMing FastRotor on here. I believe he is running a Link G4 Plus(?) which is basically a Vipec and has knocked up some electronics to force the Vipec to switch to lower timing map on gear changes.
  11. Yeah, like I said, it's tuned fairly conservatively, since it's our only car and my misses drives it to work every day. 313rwkw is pretty nice What have you done to it. It must be an absolute blast to drive. One day I'll get there....maybe
  12. Congrats on the magazine article Simon. It looks awesome! This would easily be the best Stagea I have ever seen. It was one of the inspiring factors that caused me to buy a 260RS
  13. Sorry to hear about the accident. I'll be home from work all of next week, so if you need any pics or anything let me know.
  14. Did it pop up with a message that said "This is an Autech Vehicle"? Mine did.
  15. Tough! Let us know how it goes
  16. Yeah I love the shot. It is my new wall paper
  17. Yay someone spotted me! Yep it's a S1 Autech with S2 rear lights ;-)
  18. I would imagine it would be the same as a R33 GTR clutch. If you do a search on this forum you will find quite a few reviews of the various clutches available. My 260 will need a new clutch, too. Doesn't like launching at anything over ~4000rpm
  19. I took the Stag to the skid pan last Saturday. Had an absolute ball. It does better handbrakies than I expected Got body roll?
  20. Hmmm I might be interested, too....
  21. Awesome. I did not know that. Hopefully with the 2nd muffler it would be under the limit.
  22. I just realised I haven't posted in here 260RS Vipec ECU running 13psi and ~11.6:1 up in the revs 3" Apexi front pipes, 5" cat, 3.5" cat back 263hp (196kw) at all 4. I haven't had a chance to take it to the drags yet. Would love to know what it'll do. Itching to go the next step with new turbos, injectors, fuel pump and clutch, but we're building a house, so all mods are off
  23. If you do a search on here quite a few people have mentioned that the stock GTR dump pipes are quite good. My 260RS has stock dumps, 3" Apexi front pipes, 5" cat, 3.5" cat back with 2 mufflers. The rear muffler is a Fujisubo Jasma cannon. It has quite a nice sound and is not too loud.
  24. Well after reading this, I went exploring this morning in my 260RS. Not sure where I went, but went up Mystery Road, then ended up finding that one-way traffic light section, went to Canungra, then went through the back, ending up climbing up to Tamborine, then out to Oxenford and home again. Was good fun. Shame there were quite a few Sundary drivers (or Tuesday drivers) out and about The car loves twisty roads
