  1. Empty, the prime mover and trailer combo is about 14 tonnes average for us and laden about 38 tonnes for biggest fleet. We run road trains across far north QLD and some of the pics/stats there are amazing. This is why it really pisses me off when I see people coming up to traffic lights and pull in front of trucks. Annoying enough in a car but a truck, they must be stupid or have a death wish or poorly trained.
  2. Arent your holes due to rust though?
  3. You shouldnt have reversed into my ming dynasty vase. In all seriousness, insurance companies are paid by you the consumer to take on this kind of action.
  4. Not the way to go and have seen that too. It's dishonest and hits companies hards as margins are very small on trips as it is so to have some idiot making a bogus claim can turn a trip just in the black to well in the red. If the claim is genuine make it but dont waste innocent people's time and money with fraudulant claims. FATGTS-R - That's the stuff, we run a few hundred trucks on that. Have used VDO Tracking also before which is also very good.
  5. LAMPS on Riversdale Rd at 5.30pm
  6. Congrats to both of you, great news
  7. Just get the rego and company. From there you can ring them and explain the time and place it happened which is fairly easy to check out for most now as we use satellite tracking. I have worked for 3 truck companies and am responsible for satellite tracking etc as part of my job. I now work for the parent company of a very well known aussie icon in trucking and we get legitimate and bogus claims most weeks. I assist in checking them out and we always pay up if the claim is genuine. I also hear of claims from dumbass's who mistake our company name for that of a well known hire company so we get their calls too!! Also remember, most won't know it happens and heaps of people flash at trucks for going slow, changing into their lane etc. Unless they are tipper trucks, most companies will have some kind of tracking as it is generally a KPI put in place by the customer.
  8. White 33 GTST with custom plates, might have been R33R33 on Nepean Hwy near Aspendale at about 12pm yesterday.
  9. Am off to see it in G Class tomorrow also, will try and keep an open mind but isnt sounding great so far!
  10. Excedy HD for the Evo was about that price. The labour for me was about the same again plus flywheel and AYC Fluid so came to about $1500 all up. Not sure on labour or what is required on skylines so price could vary on that component unless you can install yourself. I would also shop around as there are a few in workshops that would do this, try the Workshop sticky.
  11. Stickers are ace Snowy! Is that a damaged Evo in the background, IX rear bar by the look of it. Good flame shot big bird and off to view the rest now
  12. Great looking car and sounds like it has the performance to match.
  13. Having read most of the results on the website, all I can say is well done to all! All produced outstanding results, great work Maybe the SAU Juniors have beaten the SAU Seniors this year
  14. I was taught all of that as part of my car test, in the UK. Defensive driving and keeping left etc which should be enforced far more in car training/testing.
  15. Thanks for sharing and interesting to hear. I am lucky not to have to spend a great deal of time on the roads either commuting or for work but the times that I do, the driving especially on Friday afternoons at times, is suicidal.
  16. If you are not bagging them and Ray by all accounts has tried to address the problem, why post it up on here? You may not be satisfied but that is an issue you should be raising with R.e not airing on a public forum to people who don't know the full story. This will no doubt be locked shortly anyway.
  17. Silver R8 in Dandenong with 3 letter plate on South Gippsland Hwy at about 3pm on Thursday, red GT3 not too far behind either.
  18. Yeah saw this on the news. Looks like an ex taxi with steel wheels on the back. Sad when lives are lost but more so in needless situations like this and very fortunate that other parties were not more seriously injured or killed Phatboy - there are reports of them hooning with the heraldsun site quoting they were estimated to be doing twice the speed limit and also seen weaving in and out of cars prior to the accident. Lygon St is very busy so witnesses will come forward, I just imagine they are collating information before releasing it.
  19. I will be heading up to Shep on Saturday as usual so if you guys need anything bringing up let me know. Good luck to all, should be an even more exciting event than last year
  20. See you all there
  21. Phatboy - Techsport, the Evo people are around the corner from Racepace. I used to drop people at Racepace when out at Techsport and vice versa. Someone in a white 33 GTST hammering away from the lights on Montague St heading towards City Road. Not a good look and people spot skylines in all sorts of places. Was about 9.30am.
  22. Awesome work Sarah
  23. Definately check Vic Roads out as Ant says. vicroads.vic.gov.au Yes you have to pay a year in advance, about $560 for most people (i.e not farmers etc). To get that you will need a road worthy from an authorised center I believe.
  24. Time for the new car, sooner rather than later.
  25. I'll be going up to Shep to watch, not sure on Sandown though.
