  1. So what happened with the Policeman, did he just leave a card to say "I have seen you, beware" or was it official Police business? If he was persistant, it would sound like there is more to come where you might have to prove you weren't in the country.

    Its Gone! :(

Never nice seeing a car go but at least it has gone now so you can move on to other things. Sorry for the loss of grandmother too, not nice at all. Hopefully a different car will help you too
  3. Definately Techsport. As Ash says, they don't do tuning themselves but send it to MPC which is very close. I have everything done by Techsport including panel work as Jeff has a good network of contacts out there plus I don't have time to shop for quotes. They are the first workshop I have seen who do what you ask, show you what they have done (e.g parts replaced and why) and will gladly talk to you about your car, the potential and options until the cows come home. Also very fairly priced too. A big help for me is they are open Saturday mornings as I don't live anywhere near by so getting out there of an evening is quite hard. Number is: 03 9720 9300
  4. I listen occasionally in the mornings. Apparently one of the guys on the trip has had his passport conviscated for some sort of behaviour (could well be the animal) as they took a virgin and some others. They had the guy talking to his dad for the first time in 5 months on the radio yesterday morning live. So the man trip will return later this week and leave this guy behind who has to make an appearance somewhere! They had auditions too resulting in some crazy stuff including getting the virgins to talk to a call girl for assessment and another group having to "mess" themselves up by whatever means using a room full of food and equipment! Akmal drives me mad so normally listen to Hamish and Andy in the arvo.
  5. Welcome and a nice couple of cars there. Dyno day looks to be good and is a great way to meet a large part of the club and their cars.
  6. HaHa! thanks mate. I didnt even put sun screen on until I arrived here and stupidly thought I would be fine here also a few years back! I now put it on anytime in the sun. Now get out and enjoy that bustling Canberra nightlife up there! I shall have to leave you on the Albino Bob camp, all on your own now
  7. Good to see you have the right SAU stickers on there too, none of this WA crap! Look forward to catching up but not sure if I will be at PI.
  8. Were you not a member!? Now I expect to see the Lib out at DECA in May Welcome anyway mate, catch you soon.
  9. Add this one to your list also, anz.com
  10. Great weekend, well done Ash for organising. I think someone should send an email to Alisa thanking her on behalf of the club (I am happy to do this Ash if you want? ) Was a very good weekend and most importantly, we didnt run dry! Some great pics, well done Paul and Sarah
  11. You kept your return low key didnt you mate! So when do we get to see the car in the flesh?
  12. Not even sure I will be there as am in Sydney all day.
  13. Good find "Where are VTEC found? VTEC are found in the gut of cattle."
  14. If you mean sit in one, I am sure someone can rustle one up on Tues for that. If you mean to see how they handle, come to the May DECA up at Shepparton
  15. good work West.
  16. Forgot the other one, I had a very good price on tyres called Firenza's as they are trying to break into the Aussie market. They were $170 per tyre for 17" which has a very similar tread pattern to my Potenza S-03's. Possibly worth a shot too.
  17. Depends if you want legal tread or not. A good place to start would be somewhere that sells and fits new tyres like Kmart tyre and auto, bridgestone. They would have a pile of tyres removed that they probably pay someone to take away so might be grateful for someone to take a set for free. whitepages.com.au is a good start
  18. GTR's are superb cars, so much so that after my mate back in the UK bought his 6 in 1999, I hadnt even thought about them since. I really wanted a midnight purple 33 like GOLGO, infact had his for sale price been about 35K, I quite possibly would have. I even looked at ALSGTR before getting my Evo but felt the price was a little high (great car but would have preferred newer for the same $$). Then started looking at GTT's and WRX's for something a bit newer and sportier but Docklands were not the most helpful for the WRX's and at that stage, I didnt know many of the WRX club personally for advice. James mentioned the blue VII that I now have which was on the forecourt of a place nearish to my work. Called in, went for a passenger ride, took the g/f for final approval before collecting it 6 days later. I would still like a GTR one day and another cossie but only as second cars (at least an older GTR anyway). They are a lot of fun and the best way I could describe them is "zippy" as they feel very light to drive.
  19. Evo VII's are definately the best choice Seats are tighter and a few more angles over the VIII and IX so I think it has a tougher stance Mine is very economical so I regularly see 420-450kms to 40 litres on the freeway. Even around town it seldom drops below 400 with fanging returning about 380 to a tank. Definately upgrade the springs to get the most from the handling as they have some body roll from factory. I am hoping to put mine up to 200kw in the next few months with a couple of mods but don't want much more as it is used daily and for about 600kms a week. Being blue, mine attracts little attention which is another plus point and as such, have never been pulled over in it. Servicing is also quite reasonable with a basic service being around the $250-$300 mark. Personally I would buy here for peace of mind although the company James used seems to be very good. Not really much else to say except they are ace cars that do the job during the week and enable you to mix it up at the weekend with the other performance cars. HTH
  20. MCLF1 was the plate of the one I saw in St Kilda some months back. Very nice car indeed and I still have the article from the UK when Rowan Atkinson wrote his one off all those years ago (in one of many boxes I hope!). Cool pics Joel too! My mate has that Fiesta, I couldnt believe they renamed it to the Festiva until I clicked it and saw the plate actually said Fiesta, just your dodgy renaming!
  21. Yeah I could agree with that, probably a loose description of pub is needed but I can think of about 15 off the top of my head that are an easy walk.
  22. Good point, my bad memory! It's Banana man!
  23. An oldie but a goodie. Has done the rounds globally as we had it for Birmingham several years ago in the UK when they had a small tremor. Shops and drinks names were substituted for local ones.
  24. Isnt yours normally doing laps around there Matt anyway, so a quick photoshoot outside the club for this generous man would be acceptable
  25. Bonnet raising is compulsory and will be administered at every available stopping point! j/k BTW
