  1. If I had the choice of mugging you, I also wouldnt bother you! I vote for Port Melbourne where I live. It is a 15 min walk to the tram and a 15 min ride to the city. Bay St with all the shops is less than 5 mins away and everyone is mid twenties. Plenty of nice people and the beach is 2 blocks away. Lots of pubs and a cab ride the city won't kill you if you do need it. We own our place but rental would be typically $300pw for a 2 bed apartment I reckon. Melbourne is a great place so you won't go wrong moving here. Other suburbs mentioned are nice but if you are looking for CBD work, the commute would drive me stir crazy! HTH
  2. Great pics Brenton
  3. Looks good, don't remember seeing the bonnet up! You have done well, good car to start with and tastefully modified
  4. I would say 95% of the members joined not knowing anyone. The club is very welcoming to new comers so feel free to join up. I joined up and didnt know anyone as I had emigrated so only knew my g/f, no mates, nothing. Come along to a monthly meeting at the Bells that details are posted up of a couple of weeks prior to, in the Vic main section. If you like it, pay up and join. My advice, take the gamble, pay $70, come along to as many events as you can and before long you will be part of the furniture. The club is a social club formed off the back bone of an interest in cars, I would describe it as. I make no claims to be the world's most confident person but come on your own (you will be easier to approach) and look for any of the committee to introduce yourself to. Or perhaps the two of you meet before hand and come together. Events are easier to meet people at but the easiest way to meet people is don't try and prove anything. Most of us have performance cars so just come along and be yourself. HTH
  5. The blue one is on Evo Oz, very nice car. I like the bright gold Advan RS's for the blue personally.
  6. Wheels look ace! Would be good to see it lowered also. You are welcome to try them on mine to see if they catch Look forward to seeing it in person
  7. Sam's is yellow unless he has changed it in the past couple of months. I used to see him some mornings getting coffee from the same place as me in Brighton before work Just want to say well done to Paul and a great event to sign off with. I had a lot of fun and managed to run the fuel tank very close to empty. I may just have made that second BP servo but putting 39.5 litres in and the needle on the bottom was close! Had an awesome time and met lots of new people. My question to any attendees of this who don't attend other events regularly, what can Mav and I do as Event Co-ordinators to entice you to come to more events throughout the year? This traditionally has an excellent turn out which we would be keen to repeat for other events.
  8. A very true statement the world over

  10. Happy 32nd mate
  11. Just over the Westgate Fwy, take Millers Road exit at Altona and a right at the bottom of the ramp. Heads towards the Old Geelong Road, Princes Hwy. That is Brooklyn area. We have a depot there that I frequent. Sorry to hear about the dyno, not good
  12. I concur! Saw one parked outside of R Bar in Port Melbourne today at about 5pm, wasnt you was it Joel?
  13. Would be good to see another cossie enthusiast. CAMS can be done quite quickly but either way you get a 30 day cover note anyway when you submit your form. They faxed a slip back to me so I could do Eastern Creek at short notice. Membership, currently is about 2 weeks I think for the club but efforts are being made to reduce this. I would suggest a driver training session for first timers as it is a lot of help. I did this at Wakefield and learnt a lot of valuable info. I knew my limits but it was whilst sticking within those that I had to concentrate on other track traffic. Not sure if driver training is being done at PI. You can bring any car to the event but it doesnt have to be your club car. I believe it might have to be the car that you put on the entry form for the day though.
