Only 12 million others? How are the number plates going to help you when you didnt see them. I would be mighty pissed if someone gave my plates out because the vehicle fitted the description. Anyone doing that, needs to think hard.
-
Sounds like a plan. Not sure how we could go about getting one of the 950cc Fiesta's over here though that I had as a first car. Bearing in mind we are talking normal roads, not a skid pan and also the key part of my first post "Much more likely in a RWD car as Alex says" Divhunter - you have highlighted two different things, revenue and safety: "Is that the same safety reason as the stupid placement of speed zones? The same one as lowering speed limits on open roads? Same as the speed camera plague? Banning all turbo and V8 cars for P platers? That would be revenue not safety. You can argue til you are blue in the face that it's for safety but sorry 10 year study in the US, same study in Europe - lowering speed limits increased fatalities. Speed cameras - same or increased fatalities in Victoria where hundreds of millions is made each year with faulty equipment. Buying a cheap car = worse car = less safety features and little to no respect for the vehicle by the owner." Revenue, I partially agree with you on speed cameras but not fully as some are in genuine accident black spots. The bold statement above, maybe thats you but certainly isnt me. So all the people buying up performance cars on their P's are really doing it for safety not performance and so they can give the vehicle respect? And by the laws limiting this, suddenly all P platers will be forced into $hitboxes that are unsafe?

Incorrect. As said above, oversteer. I have floored cars years ago in the wet on roundabouts that are FWD and it just slides. Ripping the handbrake on is a different story. Go to a skid pan day in a FWD and see.

1-97 Get the 32 GTR fixed 98 Retain some pride from an SAU Vic night out

Much more likely in a RWD car as Alex says. I had a FWD car for my first couple and the worst I had was some bad oversteer. RWD on a patch of oil/wet road and losing traction, you are suddenly contending with the back all over the place out of control which takes some skill/training to come away from unscathed depending on the circumstances.

Sounds more like a dating house! So it comprises of the following: 1 male 1 female couple 1 male looking for a a full time student or full time worker or possibly international students Is that correct? -
Yep for the 2007 but it is the 2008 that comes to Oz. They have priced it previously on car inc driver then passengers are extra so its not clear whether the price above is per person or car.
-
If you go back 6 years yeah! In 04 it was nearly that in pounds, 05 even higher and 06 was outragious. Let me find the figures and post up later. SS8_Gohan isnt far off though. **Edited - pricing 2007- 24K pounds for previous Gumballers and and 28K pounds new Gumballers

Get a GTS not a GTST. You won't be worrying about being pulled over, fuel will be better, they are cheaper to begin with and still have plenty of power. GTS' are still very nice cars and there are a few on here. You don't want to be spending on your money on fuel as you will suddenly have an influx of "new" friends who want to be driven everywhere and will give you sod all for petrol. They are also plenty powerful enough for a new driver. Forget about lining up against other cars on the road, don't become a statistic. My 2c.

I was going to put something like this up after the meeting but you beat me to it! Thank you to everyone who has organised, attended or played any part in the SAU events as its a team effort. I really appreciate the effort the Execs put in to organise events and have an incling as to the amount of time involved alongside full time jobs which makes me all the more grateful. For the price that the membership costs and the people/laughs/events that come with it, there isnt anything better. So from me, well done to the Execs and onwards to a great 2007 with the club.

That looks like a version but it isnt "the" Gumball Rally which is infamous on a global scale and something a few people off here aspire to compete in.

Should Bass Junky Change The Colour Of His Car
saff_cossie replied to Bass Junky's topic in Victoria
Sheesh, I know that which is why I put "that silver colour" rather than just "silver" -
Happy Birthday mate

I know there are a few interested in the Gumball Rallies on here so have taken this info from another forum I use in the UK that has a couple of Gumball Racers on it. I was fortunate enough to go to the start of the 2005 Gumball in London on a trip back home (thread on here some where with all the pics and car clips). Well in 2008, the 10th anniversary, it is coming to Sydney. They have begun travelling further over the years from Europe into North Africa, over to Asia and the US last year and Asia again this year. So for people who may not get the chance to drive it, here is the opportunity to watch some as it is coming to our door step here in Oz. Info taken from Rich_w on Passionford.com

Superb shots Dee! Lots of great memories and nice to see some from before my time with the club. Also deserving a special mention is this pic: http://dee.dphoto.com/#/album/5058/photo/144823/ Up until this point, I have never seen him drive any car, let alone his. In all honesty, I didnt realise he had a licence either! Proof of the car and the driver if ever it were needed! BTW - Nice car and those rims look good on it

Should Bass Junky Change The Colour Of His Car
saff_cossie replied to Bass Junky's topic in Victoria
I am going to say, paint it that silver colour. Reasons: Similar colour means if and when sale times come, people are less likely to question as the inside of the engine bay (unless you are going full bareshell) will be very similar to the rest of the car. It is perfectly feasible that a skyline enthusiast get his car sprayed in the same shade as one of the best skylines too. Silver is a great colour for keeping clean, scratches, dents etc IMO, spray it silver. -
Just ask him to put some Magnetic Fields on to "sooth" the fear!
-
Thats crazy, looks to have taken off a bit early! Definately wouldnt want to land on the upside of that mound
-
Wow, they have grown so much! Awesome dogs and if it wasnt for an apartment or cats, would probably have one
-
Taken on board ***Eagerly awaits Suggestion #2
-
I didnt realise you drove that one, would have paid more attention had I known. **Waits for the return of car and tries to find somewhere to find talent**

I second that based on how tight that semi circle of cones was at the November DECA! Exploiting the Evo's poor turning circle! I couldnt even get a clean handbrake turn in there either
-
Was an excellent day. I was getting tired by 11pm though having been at the Belgian since 1pm and going for a cycle before that. Rex club were most hospitable too in the evening which was nice Thanks to the organisers and everyone attending which made for a great day.

Congrats on the little one mate. My personal opinion, sell it as you have done a lot in it and achieved a lot, as well as spent big. Team evo, needs a white IX member Stunning car and certainly one of my favourites in teh club but you should get something more competitive for the types of events like DECA that you seem to enjoy (will end up beating the rest of us by even more!). Good luck mate
