  1. Looks a fantastic experience. A group of mates back home go over twice a year, Easter and the long weekend the UK get at the end of August. It gets insanely busy. Were there any track closures with bike crashes? This is their main gripe with the track. If anyone is planning a trip and has some time, there are a number of other attractions in the area inc. 4wding on a purpose built course. Need to fill sometime next month, perhaps worth the quick trip over the Channel..
  2. All of my hoodies are Medium but I needed a large with the SAU one. The arm and body length wasn't quite there with the Medium but Large fits perfectly.
  3. Why not go the other way, somewhere like Nar Nar Goon which is safe enough and a direct train ride in. Then no traffic either way getting there as you are going against the flow. Must be other stations like that too. My mate lives there and reckons he could get to the city in 1 hour on the train if needed which is the same time as it takes him to get to Cambwell by car currently from there.
  4. Birds - Firstly my post was not aimed at anyone specifically, it was a general response based on my own experiences. Since you have chosen to feel it was directed at you, I assume it is this part of your post you are referring to: If so, to dream up a role and offer to act as it is a far cry from an elected role that the club deems necessary. The committee members go a long way above just typing smack on here to ensure all paid up members have something to enjoy and get their moneys worth from. My post 2 prior was detailing my personal experiences with SAU VIC and having been in the position of a club executive, I know only too well about people who post up criticism but cannot do any better themselves and having been on the forums for long enough have seen it numerous times, so while you may have the best intentions (except for taking my post personally), not everyone does. There are too many keyboard warriors who can voice their opinion with their online homies but at the next meet, go up to Ash and tell him about the design or send a PM/Email. Birds - Have a re-read. Ash - exactly, I don't have time for much more than 1 post a day max let alone have time to start an argument
  5. Just like to add after reading all the comments: 1. Ash is very special - he has the carisma and confidence to pull off the president role very well which is something most of us can't do. Having sat on the committee for about 3-4 months, I can vouch for how much time the whole committee put in, it really is staggering. 2. The hoodie won't be to everyone's liking, nature of the beast whenever you are in a leadership/design role you ruffle feathers/get people offside/don't meet everyone's taste. Going forward I do think it is a good idea to have club input on design and then leave to committee to finalise. That said, I am perfectly happy with the hoodie and Bec can vouch, money was paid without even seeing it as I believe this club is one worth supporting and one I have confidence in doing the right thing for members (having been a member of other car clubs before). 3. Anyone who can do better, nominate yourself, voice your thoughts at a meeting to the audience. Ash summed it up very well in one comment "if you can talk about it on a forum, you can talk about it here". 4. Ash is a cock for making me wait until 9pm for my hoodie as I missed Millionaire Trader's and have had to download it! That said, Snowy's prensentation was ace and well worth listening to. End of.
  6. Hoodies look ace, thanks very much for organising. Was a great meeting, really enjoyed Snowcone's presentation and probably one of the biggest club meets in a long while.
  7. I am just going through the process of sussing out new ISP's myself. I have been with netspace for 3 years on and off but have just used my quota for the first time in months so am stuck on crap speed for a few more days! A guy at work recommended Exetel I think however I have used all my patience loading this page so will check it out tomorrow at work!
  8. Great pics, looks like I missed a good one! Excellent to see the numbers back up at Taco Bill's, roll on August!
  9. ^Agreed however with my car and boat licences it was 10 working days from renewal. I paid a good couple of weeks before when the notice came through so had the licence prior to expiry
  10. Great response mate, now how about my email before baby time! Tuesday?
  11. Interesting, my understanding has always been speed limits have been designed with the worst drivers (doesn't mean worst but to take into account, cars, trucks, inexperienced drivers, surroundings of the road such as housing and schools) in mind but optimum weather conditions hence why you adjust your speed limit if the weather isn't good. I was always taught when learning to drive that you can drive at the speed limit in perfect conditions (visibility, road surface, other traffic, weather, surroundings and condition of the vehicle in which you are travelling).
  12. Fantastic result but you were beaten by a Rickshaw
  13. What is an Australian Licence, where was it issued? The Vic Roads website has all the FAQ's about licence transfer to start you including costs.
  14. ^^ Yes you are correct If you can't get the RWC in that time, yes potentially they may want to see it as when it is does eventually get a roadworthy, it will be unregistered. I am not 100% sure if when renewing NSW rego, the car needs a pink slip at the same time but possibly get the seller to renew in NSW to buy yourself some more time then just cash the rego in up there when you are ready. I wouldn't have thought you would struggle to get a RWC inside 2 weeks though down here, waiting lists in my experience aren't that long normally.
  15. We took our Subaru to Sheen Panel in South Melb for a quote, the pricing was staggering compared to other quotes sought. Can't comment on quality but we were sent there on recommendation so "assume" it is ok.
  16. When I did mine, I let the rego run out in NSW before organising VIC rego, however: I had a road worthy done on the car by a Vic Roads accredited centre within the 30 day limit. I took the road worthy to the vic roads office and told them it was a new registration, along with the receipt from sale (just a word doc the seller and I signed). The lady asked how much I wanted to declare the car for even though the receipt told her. I paid my 12 months VIC rego plus stamp duty and the $90 to put my plates back on. Was just over $2K from memory. To get the remaining rego back from NSW, I believe you need to apply to the RTA up there like you would normally do for Vic Roads down here. You don't transfer as such. I walked out with a VIC registered car. HTH **Edit - just saw post above, they don't need to see the car, that can come up if there are any questions over the value but definately don't need to sight it. Sighting the car is more common on first rego, e.g. after compliance.
  17. This is great, well done guys, very very deserving winners
  18. Yellow GTT with a massive yellow wing and a GTR badge stuck to the front grill on Toronga Rd at about 5.30pm tonight.
  19. ^^ Even Port Melbourne has one, just opened 1 month ago on Bay St!
  20. ^^ Have been through their a few times over the last couple of months, most recently 2 weeks ago. There are a lot of wineries open and several have big signs saying things like "business as usual". There was also a report in the Herald Sun just after Easter weekend reporting great trade for the area. A lot of regrowth already up there and the wineries we go past regularly don't look too bad at all. The crop will be a different story though but that won't be until next year at the earliest.
  21. Saw that too just before the Kerford Rd turn off. Had silver and gold rims and an older guy standing on the median strip taking pics of it, probably the owner or at least a passenger. Guess he was heading to Tassie.
  22. Red 34 GTT in Camberwell this afternoon with white stripes around the bottoms of the doors and also on the boot I think. About 5pm.
  23. My brother is a qualified carpenter
  24. Thumbs up for SSV, great service and cars, mine came from there
  25. Judge Jules - say no more
