  1. Man that sucks The hours you put into that car and the grief it caused the other guys on track! Main thing is you are OK as cars can be replaced. Roll on the next project

    Deca Wind Up

Thanks to the organisers for this. It was another awesome event that was so well organised and ran like clockwork. Evo had its first hard outing and now needs a new clutch but before that it was going well all day. No blistering times from me but just happy to have somewhere I can fang it safely. Thanks to all that made the day a success. Also a huge thanks to James for bringing me home, really appreciate it mate.
  3. Happy Birthday guys! Was actually going to put a comment similar to do with something in the water! In reality though with a member base of 200 ish and only 12 months in a year. Even if the birthdays were spread evenly it would be 16ish to a month. Hope you enjoy the night Leewang and see you Ryan up at DECA for a drink or two!
  4. Hi all Not sure if anyone has used this before but one of the guys posted it on another forum I use. If you type gabbly.com as a prefix to a website URL, you can chat to people on that site. E.g. gabbly.com/skylinesaustralia.com :sorcerer:
  5. ROFL! at you two. One on each couch no doubt!
  6. I think this is little optimistic considering I am not even that. I challenge him to 55kg What you do with your donuts in your spare time is your business mate
  7. Thanks
  8. I am going to head up a bit earlier if anyone is around and wants to cruise up. Aiming to leave Donnybrook around 5-5.15pm. Have a couple of others who have expressed interest at that time and I dont have any need to be in Melbourne until later so may as well head up. Also want to be as fresh as possible for the next day and the night!
  9. Another August birthday! Happy Birthday mate, I am sure you will celebrate in style this weekend.
  10. Put a post up in the car parts section advertising most parts for sale. If people enquire, go and check it if is OK and sell it if it is. Did you come out of it OK? As others have said, what happened?
  11. I did this in 2004. I bought my cossie over in a sole use container. Company was called Anglo Pacific who are based in Acton, London. One of their employees is on another forum who looked after me. 1. You need to apply for an import approval from DOTARS first which involves filling out a form from the website and faxing it over along with proof of the age and ownership of the vehicle. I can't remember where my certificate came to, either UK or Oz. The shipping company won't ship it without it as it cannot be allowed in at this end 2. Then organise shipping (I recommend a container as you can put posessions in it with this company, actually in the car) 3. Then send off the "vehicle has been exported" part of your log book. Older style ones have a tear off part which needs to be recorded and sent back. Newer ones with the different colours, it is the purple section and it doesnt come back! My car waited for a month until I chased that up. 4. Shipping takes about 6 weeks 5. I know one of the larger clearance companies at this end through my g/f, they pushed mine through quite quickly. I had them ring 6. me before opening the container so I could inspect the car at quarantine 7. Spent another few days there while they went through all my boxes 8. Collected the car on a flatbed truck and took my stuff to my new house 9. Compliance is a seperate issue and not easy on a modified vehicle Container was about 1200quid plus 150ish quid insurance Tax is payable on the declared value Not sure on clearance costs as I had a different rate HTH BTW - Its Geordies
  12. Hey Hey! What might this be in relation to!? I am the one doing DECA
  13. Was driving next to one of these last night and thought to myself, thats one car I wouldnt mind. Might be a bit small for driving people round and is only 3 doors though.
  14. Was at the HAC event with an owner of one who took me for a little drive. Very nice inside. He is a member of the Rex club.
  15. I think you are supposed to take the white strip off. It is intended to help peel the backing off. I stand corrected if this isnt the case but that was the way I understood it.
  16. I chose a Lexus over a Ford in 2004 with depreciating being a large factor in the decision as well as wanting something that needed nothing doing to it (no checking oil, water, listening for noises etc). The IS250 is not a good looking car IMO. I had the IS200 which had no go but g/f's step dad has the IS300. That is a great car with the right amount of power and tiptronic. I got the Evo this time as it fits the bill slightly better. Wanted something performance orientated as I am in an enthusiasts club and enjoy cars. I wanted something reliable, relatively economical and that could hold passengers if need be. Also not too much Police attention. My Evo on highway driving gets around 420-440kms a tank out of 40 litres so cant ask for much better. The Ford would be great but agree with Husnu. If you need something to impress execs/clients in my opinion go the IS300, a nice 2004 model. Great little cars with all the toys.
  17. Can you bring mine to DECA please! Chris and I should really donate ours back to James after the May round.
  18. Sarah, see posts on the other pages
  19. What constitutes a Junior though mate?
  20. Do a search from about November last year. Ferni is the man on this! There are also some links for novated lease calculators on that thread. Do you get the component as cash or pre tax? I have a car allowance as cash but make a loss with fuel and tolls at the moment but dont mind too much as the end is in sight. It depends how long you want your car over as well. 5 years will get you a higher $$ value car than 3 years. Defo find that thread though. Off to try some Gurney Flaps on the car otherwise I would find it for you (man that sounds bad!) HTH Sod it, there you go! lol! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...&hl=novated and another I noticed http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...&hl=novated
  21. Just looked at them all again, they really are amazing pics! The ones of the Service Area are superb especially. I should grab that one of the VII - Mine too could like this with a small amount of air and an ascent!
  22. How did I know when I saw your post it would be to do with me! I had a good comeback but its probably wasteland material.
  23. 11ty billion miles per hour Stunning car.
  24. Maybe also pose the question of car names.
  25. Definately agree with Ash. I think those are some of the best I have seen for car filling the lens and action at the same time. You should put the copyright on the pic as you are always generous enough to put it off the object.
