Abo Bob - I have no problems with questions, infact only recently we were saying how dull the Vic section was so a healthy discussion is good. The amount of reports from guys saying they were driving along and towards them comes a traffic car, the car holds up traffic to turn around and persue the forum member. If the driver has a CF bonnet, that says "pull me over, guaranteed Canary, money in the bank for the Government, extra tick on the officers job card for the day". 750cc whilst not legit, dont scream pull me over on their own. There are not many things like that that are guaranteed. Alloys could or couldnt be an illegal size, car may or may not be too low (unless obvious). Chances are with a CF bonnet, it could be a gold mine for an officer. Oh and also SAU (certainly Vic, can't speak for other states as I don't know) is trying to create a law abiding, police respecting community of enthusiasts. B) That was the point I was trying to get accross

A very constructive reply there from an Exec. All I know is I wouldnt be putting a post up about doing any illegal activity on somewhere I know is frequented by Police. Makes sense doesnt it? Do you have any other suggestions as to why people dont post up that they have a CF bonnet.

I wasnt under the impression that the "illegal mod" had to contribute to the accident to void it. I thought anything illegal or undeclared voided it. Do you have that in writing anywhere as that puts a different emphasis on insurance?

Most insurance companies seem to be of the opinion, guilty until proven innocent. They dont want to pay out unless they have to. If as a company could get out of a $5K claim on a technicality, would you? Anyone can and does read the forums. People are aware of that. The only GTR I know of that can have one legally is the N1 which I am sure someone can either confirm or deny as it came from the factory.

Was cycling along the beach road cycle path with the g/f yesterday and some guy driving a commonwhore with the obligatory baseball cap decides to lean out of the window and scream at us! Scream as in a girl not as in abuse. No idea why but it would have been out of dog hearing range.

I have seen these on a few cars in the UK "gull wing doors". Definately wouldnt bother, leave it to the manufacturers where they came from factory. There is a calibra in Perth with them I think. Do a search, you might find it. Think it is dark blue/purple. He may be able to advise.

Not that easily especially not after a week or more in the sun. A pain to try and clean off as well as if you rub had, it scores the paint. Our subaru has disolved patches in the paintwork from the previous owner as it wasnt washed off quick enough.
