  1. Sounds good James. Have been adhering to my training schedule this week which includes less alcohol.
  2. If you are passionate about an interest, money should almost be no object. Que the angry partners who don't yet own property due to that philosophy, including mine. Flame suit on!
  3. Doesnt seem to have anything in it mate
  4. That is funny, I hadnt realised what was going on! Bec - Thanks for the thought I might stick to timing, photography and accompanying mavric on his "must eat all hot dogs from the burger bar" missions.
  5. BTT for a 4th member. I have reviewed a couple of training programmes and I think if you can start this week, you will be good for the 16th Oct.
  6. This is by far the fastest forum I go on. Amazing how quickly pages work and as stated above, awesome having the preview back for posts.
  7. I like the sound of Winton! I am up for lap timing and photos again. And of course some Wang Busters.
  8. I can recommend Allblitz for his help so far with me. He has section on the main page in the very last sectoin. It is a list of the traders. Best way to make contact is via PM. User name is: allblitz Website: http://www.allblitz.com.au/ HTH
  9. I saw that on the news last night as well with the Fuel Pump scotch dispenser. That was a wholesale show at the Exhibition Centre I think. Were they not up and coming products to reach stores in time for Christmas though?
  10. Worth noting, thanks for the info mate. B)
  11. Have a look in the Events section at the top of the page. That is where this kind of stuff originates and is talked about. There is one on the Great Ocean Road coming up.
  12. Thats interesting as what was swaying me with them was the extended warranty on their cars.
  13. That I could post! Have typed numerous replies up until now but no joy so, well, its all a bit emotional, being able to post, sob sob! On a similar topic as this thread, was anyone aware that a change was going to be made? Did I miss a thread in another forum on it? A suggestion from me, I havent seen anyone else suggest yet. Can the text/colour/style of the message text be bolder at the top when a message is there, like the old one? The old one caught my eye each time I entered the site wheras currently I am finding it hard to notice/remember to look at. Bec - great suggestion, colour changed now to white and sooo much easier on my eyes B)
  14. From my shopping around experience: Kamikaze - were helpful and spent the time with me showing me cars and had a very good selection. Didnt like the bidding idea they have to buy a car though and prices seem high. Otherwise fine IMO. Allblitz - Extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Straight up and very good pricing. Can also get parts etc. Am still shopping around but Allblitz so far gets my vote.
  15. Brisby its Saturday mate i.e tomorrow! Either of you still on? B) Scorp - I beieve we are still looking for one more to make the team. Confirm with Jamezilla though as he is doing the organising. Scorp - just saw the reply. Had the dilemma with the london marathon 2 years on the trot as well versus competing the national in the national series in the UK so know what yuo mean.
  16. Testing Testing!
  17. Glad you are ok and able to talk about it. Wasnt there a thread about something similar just over a year ago on here with a skyline stopped at a level crossing and a group of guys in a holden pulling up behind it before one or all of them jumped out. I hadnt been a member of the forums long so only vaguely remember it. Time to keep the doors locked. Out of interest, what time are we talking on Friday night?

You need a login for it. Can you take the photos and credit them?
  20. Thats where the difference is James. All mine is mountain bike! Used to have a Bianche road bike a few years back but couldnt get along with it so sold it. Just had a set of wheels for the road with slick tyres and a custom built set of wheels for the dirt with knobblies (which are now my road wheels). Keep meaning to check James, I assume you havent entered yet and that a team entry would be done in one hit as opposed to individual entries under a team banner? If you have already entered, I will get on to it.
  21. Flite Titianium is my personal weapon of choice and I am on my second. Surprisingly comfortable for what looks like so little. Keep those tips coming and second installment is awaiting! OK enough wine for the evening for me.
  22. Agree with Geoff on the above. Best way I found to develop my pedal stroke was on a turbo trainer. Doing it that way means you can focus on it and safely rest the other leg somewhere else so the pedaling leg utilises the upward and downward stroke. Then switch to work the other leg before clipping back in to see the results. Only thing I have not heard is the seat to be perfectly flat. Certainly too far up and as a guy you know about it and too far down you do slide off but havent heard of the spirit level flat. I have learnt something new there. Clipless pedal systems do take some setting up and need careful analysis of the individuals pedal stroke though otherwise very sore knees and inefficient cycling will result. Keep up the good tips Geoff.
  23. James - Frankston sounds good. Will go for couple of spins this weekend to check all is in order but "old faithful" hasnt let me down yet! You are welcome to drive to my place and park out the front as its a little way round the bay from your place. I was trained for 3 seasons by a pro UK racer called Jamie Norfolk as part of the team I raced for. Did a good mix of stuff from velo, circuit training, road rides etc. The club was affiliated with another club who owned some land that one of the XC rounds was on so we used to go there for technical skill building also.
  24. I did the ride to Mornington side with some guys 3 years back on the day but didnt get on the ferry as I wasnt entered officially. I only ride mountain bike and have raced for about 7 years but have rested the bike for the past couple as I finished up uni and discovered excess alcohol. 15-20 hour weeks are not uncommon in the off season and weekly racing during the season was what I was used to. I can still mix it with a few roadies now but need to fine tune it again. James weekend ride sounds good, let me know when and where.
