Ahhh...another one with the same problem. Trust me mate, I've sent it to Pedders countless times and those bloody arms seem ridiculously unrepairable (I hope not!). Mine squeaks like crazy still and I just had an updated kit put in today!

Drive safely boys and girls, seen a few accidents in the last couple of days. Cops are out a plenty too. Had one tail my car (mebbe it's my imagination) for no rhyme or reason. I guess mebbe they've got something against skylines? Or hi-po cars in general? Just drive safely and merry christmas everyone!

Run a new cable between alternator and battery? It solved the problem? Did you try increasing the idle speed too?

I'm quite sure the AAC valve was cleaned when I sent it for servicing the last time. Specially told my mechanic to do that for me. Anyway I did some driving today and realised that the erratic idling starts when I turn on the headlights and then PRESSED and held the brakes! The idle starts going between 600 and 800. How could the brakes be drawing so much electricity that it would do that? I just had a new heavy duty battery put in and it still didn't make much of a difference. WHat's wrong? The alternator?

Startup thingy caused by plugs? I just had new ones placed in a few months back It's annoying me. Do you get weird idles at the traffic lights?

Might be going in a few months time, so the car is up for sale.

Actually mine does exactly that! What the heck is wrong? Mine does that everyday actually. That's why I thought is it anything to do with a dying fuel pump or leaky injectors? But only on the first start of the day.

But does the stock fuel pump have a non-return valve too? It is suppose to return to drop significantly when you turn off the engine? I wonder if that's causing the strange startup. When I turn on the car on mornings, she seems to weakly startup, to about 400rpm like as if its going to stall for a split second before firing up to 1000rpm. Anyone had that before?

Just bought a electrical contact cleaner from Dick Smith. Haven't tried it yet. I'm suspecting it coudl be a vacuum leak too.

Abit off topic here. Just enquiring if any of you has plugged a fuel pressure gauge to watch the pressure drop overnight. How much does it drop by? Is 10psi alot? A sign of leaky injectors or faulty fuel pump?

Is it true that ADR would be stricter from next year onwards? I hear the number of R32 compliance plates are now going to be lessened? That would drive the prices up wouldn't they?

I'd be really careful about private importers since they have no warranty. That was the mistake I made! After $$$$$ later...

I'm having problems with my idle too. You used an electrical contact cleaner? How were the results? My Pod is a simota non oil based type so I'm wondering if it's got any cause to why my idle is so rough. Seems to get even worse when the car's been running hot or on a hot day. Some have said it could be a split vacuum hose too. HELP!

Thanks Doc. The thing I'm trying to figure out now is whether one of my neighbours is behind this. The standard thing I do everytime I drive my skyline is to warm it up at least 3 mins every morning, and let it idle 1 min before shutting down. I wonder if that's what they're pissed about. Even then there are worse cars in the neighbourhood that make more noise. That is why I'm wondering if it says 'member of the Victorian Police', does that mean someone reported to the police and the police took it to the EPA?
