  2. Hi All, Got a problem with my R32's starter and thought I'd put it out there. Long story short, I parked my car over night. Came out to start the next morning to go to work and when I turned the key to start her, there was no kick, just a spinning sound like the kind that's projected by a power tool. In other words, if you grabbed a drill or angle grinder and simply ran it at medium RPM in open air, the sound is very similar. I haven't experienced this before so I removed the key immediately but the starter kept on running making the same sound. I went one step further and disconnected the battery over night but it made no use. Actually it made it worse because now the starter will start spinning as soon as I connect the battery back up. Firstly, does anyone know what's happening here? And two, does anyone know if I can fix without replacing the starter? Cheers
  3. cheers mate that's awesome.
  4. lol dude it's not as simple as just no battery...im not that silly! alarm is switched on now too I've got an idea of what needs to happen but i need a parts contact and a recommendation on a place to take her to fit and repair. cheers mate
  5. Hi all, I've just about completed what I consider to be an entry level track setup on my 32 GTSt. Just wondering whether this will be enough for the car to handle well enough for a beginner driver. All comments welcome... BC Racing Coilovers (8kg front, 6kg rear) Whiteline subframe bushes DBA 4000 front rotors Optima Front pads HICAS lock bar Brake master cylinder stopper Remapped ECU with Nistune chip Car puts out 222kW on 18psi with all supporting mods and is tuned for track work. 6. Hi all, Some lowlifes broke into my 32 the other night trying to steal her. Little did they know it's not my daily and the battery lives in my shed So long story short, they ripped the drivers door handle half out breaking the lock from the inside of the door, then stuffed the ignition barrel and broke the steering column housing before realising it was never going to start and bailing. Has anyone had this happen to their 32 before? How did you go about getting the parts replaced and fitted? did you order everything from Nissan ex Japan or did you source from wreckers before handing over to a mechanic/panel beater? I'm also wondering how I would go about getting the keys to match all locks and ignition again once everything is replaced? Cheers
  7. I'll give you $500 excluding postage for the gtr seats mate but will need to be posted to WA. Postage is pretty straight forward, you'll just need to use DHL as opposed to Australia Post. James
  8. Hey mate still got the R32 GTR front seats? I'm assuming they bolt straight up to the GTST rails? Could you PM me a pic or two if you do? If all good I need posted to 6154...
  9. I've got two problems i think mate, one of which i fixed today by disconnecting a plug on the HICAS ECU. My other problem is that I have a bit of play in the steering wheel when im stationary. Its hard to describe but it feels like theres a couple of degrees each way when the steering wheel feels like its catching up to the angle that the wheels are on. I.e if the tires are dead straight the steering wheel will start moving the tyres at 87 degrees instead of 90. This problem developed when i mounted a kerb with a bit of speed a while ago. FYI I had my gtr steering wheel on there for a while before that and it was dead firm.
  10. Ahh awesome explanation mate appreciate it. I'll go and pull the plug now lol. Where is it located mate?
  11. Ok cool mate I'm just gonna go with the HICAS lock. When the HICAS light comes on, does that mean its disabled? As in rear wheels are not steering? I took the car out today and while the hicas light was on I caught a wikid slide that felt way smoother than usual...
  12. Cheers mate that would explain my HICAS light coming on every 15km or so lol. If I get the wheel perfectly straight (it is definitely off a couple of degrees) will the wobble go away or just the light? Also is the steering coupling you mentioned located in the car or underneath the car before the rack?
  13. Nah I haven't but I will do now. Where abouts is it on the column mate and what am I looking for exactly? Also its a stock wheel but it's an r32 gtr wheel.
  14. Hi guys, I took my R32 gtst to my mechanic today about the slight bit of play in my steering. He had a good look with it up on th hoist and reckoned it was a component in the steering column as oposed to tie rod bushes or steering rack related issues. I have a wobble in the steering at about 80km/h as well but I don't know if that is just because i need a wheel balance. Has anyone had the same verdict and replaced something in the column? James
