  1. Where u located and would u swap a home gym for the wing?
  2. Ive been to all the industrial estates in tweed, currumbin, burleigh, murwillumbah and yeah thats the problem im finding, they either want fully trained with a minimal amount of experience. and i have ally welded heaps of diferent things, ally truck base, ally gates, etc
  3. Hope this helps
  4. Where abouts do you live? cover petrol i could drop around and teach you a few things?
  5. Read the back of the box and it will tell you all about the sticks your using and diferent arc setting's, also when u first put the stick into the handle scratch the tip of the stick onto the ground (makes a easyer ark) also if you dont have something to heat the sticks like a oven type thing stick the metal on the job without welding it and it will heatup and get rid of all the moisture in the flux then its a matter of getting a decent arc and pushing the stick in whilst dragging it at a steady pace. on a realy good one the coating peels itself of as you weld also alot easyer if ur using a Auto helmet where it blacks out by itself and charges itself whilst you weld
  6. Your old school arent u X havent hurd someone using lead in ages! I bet you use a file to get it good aswell
  7. Pro tip, take into account that bog / fillers dont heat and shink at the same time as bonnets / boots so your going to have 2 little circles where the repair was done no matter how flush, smooth its looking
  8. Looks ghey but you did a good job, ive done some plastic welding before your best of using a butane torch style soldering iron with a special atatchment that you screw onto the tip and it turns it into a kind of presicion heat gun and you use the hot air to fuse the plastics looks better and it is alot stronger.
  9. Decent band saw even
  10. Tin snips, Nibbler, grinder, jugsay, gilotine, oxy, plasma just depends how you want it to look, with a plasma and oxy you obviously have to take in acount the way its going to distort the flame but if you get a ofcut of RHS or angle and place it along the line you have marked out just lean the tip on it and cut it like you marking a line with a ruler? if u get what i mean? best of using a thin fibre pad and ginding it way easyer cheaper or use a gillotine
  11. Tweed heads / gold coast i would travel to balina to say around yatla? forgot to mention i can also weld Aluminium
  12. Also have a fender squire electric guitar and amp package with a good carry case needs new strings tho make an offer
  13. Them welds look amazing good work mate
  14. Hey guys/girls im new to this forum so not sure where to post something like this. Basicly im a 19 year old seeking another job in the metal trade. I used to work for a place called Denkat trucks building custom made truck body's and special fabrications that company's required for their trucks e.g hydraulics, tie down point's, door ways, tail gates (not so much experience) and tow bars. I have around 7 modules left till i complete my Automotive vehicle body building cert III. Also done abit of work experience here and their building radio towers, pannel beater, storeman. I consider myself very handy for my age and fabricating metal is my passion. I am very good at mig welding oxy cutting etc and can weld to a degree with a stick welder, i have also yoused machines such as gillotines, benders (pipe/sheet) and i currently have my forklift license with reasonable experience on a few types. At the moment my license has been expired for another 1.5 mth but appart from that i have reliable transport to and from work, i like to shop up atleast 15 20 min early as im sure my references will tell you. I have prety much all of my tools $1000 speedglass welding helmet, face shield's goggles workwear Kingchrome top box full of tool's and a bottom box on rollers with even more usefull stuff (old boss realy hooked me up) Thanks for spending the time to read all this and if anyone know's someone with a full time position/apprenticeship available or basicly any sort of lead i would be gratefull and if it leads to something good 6 pack may be provided Because ive been in and out of trials for nearly a year now and no one has realy had the work/hours to put me on full time and i desperatly searching for a foot in. Dan.
