I hope so, I've spent the dollars so hopefully it works out! I'm just looking forward to simple idle control and how clean it will be on the cold side now. Particularly once I tidy up all of the overly busy coolant hose side of things. In regards to when it's running I refuse to set time frames any more, I just fu(# them up anyway so best to avoid committingto anything! I'd love to think it'll be back together before Christmas (this year!) but we'll see what happens.... Many Christmas' have passed since I bought it so what's a few more! -

Did the modifications I needed to do today to make the PRP brace fit the block/sump. Ended up having to grind a substantial amount off the inside of the sump to make it fit. I already had reliefs in the block sump rail for my original block/sump adapter but still had to modify them a bit to fit the PRP spacers for the section over the front diff. Measured up the oil pickup and tigged it up. PRP have done a brilliant job of designing that part of it. They make it very easy to fabricate to pickup tube. The block is loaded up in the ute ready to drop off to the machinist to get the girdle machined down to the correct height for the brace. Also removed the original accelerator pedal and cable and fit a 350Z DBW pedal. It does bolt in but I redrilled the holes to move the pedal further to the right to space it out better. The GT-R pedal pad fits straight on but the angles are all out of whack. I did a bit of "manipulation" to make it line up pretty good. Needs a bit more tweaking but will do the trick for now. -

No worries mate, I think Frenchys charge about $200 a pump for the F90000274 Walbros so if you can do it for that I’ll get them from you. Probably mid this month. -

The goodies have started arriving from my spend up. PRP block brace- Will hopefully get the machining work I'll be doing on the block done this weekend before I send it off to the machinist next week for the machining of the bottom of the girdle to match the brace. Plazmaman fuel rail (just 'cause they look nice! 😁)- And finally (for this week....) the stunning IMR intake and Bosch 85mm drive by wire throttle body- Waiting on an AN braided heater hose replacement kit plus a heap of other AN fittings, hardiness, etc. I'm most likely going to ditch the under car surge tank with dual Bosch 044's and go with a Frenchy's Performance dual pump intake set-up instead. Will mean having to run a single AN8 hard-line from the tank to the engine bay before splitting off in two for each side of the fuel rail but its just so much neater that way. They claim surge free supply for cars up to 1000HP so that's well and truly good enough for me! I think thats it for now. Time to start getting into it! -
I tend to agree with Ben. Find a bin, put turbo in bin, buy China GTX3584, fit turbo oil pressure regulator and go for it.

So this is in the new house yeah? You're a mad man ripping into a new joint but it may as well suit what you want! 500 kW in a rear wheel drive setup will be INSANE. Zero chance I could handle that much power in a RWD. I'd be wrapped around a pole in no time. RIP me.

I'm trying to think what could be reachable through the drain hole and nothing springs to mind. Everything is pretty solid in there normally! If it was a snapped off shift fork you would well and truly know about it! Have you got a multi-plate clutch? They're generally a pretty consistent rattle but if it's getting a bit old it could be sticking then releasing. These are pics of my box in bits and there really doesn't look like there is anything that could be flapping around in there (to the right of the centre plate in the first pic and to the left of the plate in the second pic)- -

Whether the lines go over or under I'd piss them off regardless, they look $hit! Whack on a fresh set for the purists at resale! -

Firstly, 3” for whole exhaust? Is that going to be big enough?? Personally I’d be going bigger but you may have done all the calculations on what you need. I got all my stuff through my local exhaust joint. He just sourced what I needed. -

Amazing stuff mate, you’ve done a brilliant job! Your enthusiasm for your car and your family is infectious! You’re a lot more hardcore tinkerer than I am. When it hits 5 degrees Celsius (41 Fahrenheit) it’s too cold for me to go in the shed but you’re working at -30 Celsius! Are there any parts left in Australia or have you bought them all??!! Thanks for the support 😂😂 Keep it up! -

This doesn't really feel like progress but I guess it is... Stripping the motor down to prepare for the arrival of the PRP engine brace. Want to be ready to send the bottom end off for machining as soon as the brace arrives. It's only run for a fairly short amount of time but everything looks pretty good in there so far in terms of bearings and the pistons. The Teflon coating on the pistons has worn off quicker than I would have expected. Feels good to spend a bit of time out in the shed again. Needs a bloody good tidy up though..... -

It's this year isn't it? I think I'm running out of time! Extra shit is never for no reason, whachoo talkin bout? There is always a reason to buy more parts! I've said it many times before, I rather buy shit than bolt it on! -
Smurfette R32 GTR build.
Shoota_77 replied to khezz's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Nice! The one thing I know I should do on mine while it's all in bits is to paint the engine bay at the very least but I just can't bring myself to do it! I'm better off getting the thing on the road then I can go back to aesthetics later on! Yeah the hoses and clamps and fittings add up to an insane amount of money! You can never be prepared for the amount of extra stuff you need. -

Sounds like a pretty nice shopping list. Probably a good 15 or 16 grand worth of tasty goodies in there! I'd love to tell you that's all you'll need but as you probably know by now it never is, there's always something else you think you need part way through the build! Look forward to seeing it all come together, should be a well sorted build. -

Monthly commissions in, monthly commissions out.... PRP Block Brace ordered. IMR single throttle body with Bosch DBW ordered. Bummer. I may have just added another few years to this build.... Apologies to anyone that actually cared if it got on the road over the next 2 years! 🤣
