  1. BUMPEY! C'mon guys...how bout this... do you feel any feedback through your clutch or gear stick when taking off or place your car under some load?
  2. WHAT...YOU MEAN THEY'RE STILL UP FOR SALE....WOW!....Thought they'd be snapped up by now!!. yes buddy, you've seen this.... I remember asking this guy about them, on ebay, he's dead set serious. I put a pic up also...(can't be shagged finding it right now).
  3. hey punters... As some of you would know, I had my box removed and stripped to try and identify a noise that was coming emanating from it. This 'noise' was pulsing at the same frequency as the engine rpm, and those 'oscillations' were feeding back to me via the clutch pedal and gear stick.... (my foot always rests on the clutch, it's just too big to put on that silly little foot rest)... These 'pulses' occured in every gear (reverse also), when under some/a little load....almost a 'dull clicking' noise, from the gearstick!..(not the diff..lol!) Ok..so the car's back (for a week now)....and as I get settled back into the feel of the car, am noticing that just in first and reverse gears now, that pulsing noise/feel is still emanating via the clutch, just a little, and only at very low/natural take off speeds. It's barely audible, it's mainly that pulsing feel from the clutch (feedback) and the stick. My other mechanic (not the guy I bought it from) drove it and said that this was the best manual V35 he'd ever driven, and he seemed to actually mean it. But I'm a fussy kuunntz (prolly too fussy??), and therefore am throwing this issue over to you 6M guys....to see if you can replicate/understand/realise as normal (whatever) this thing. Does your clutch/stick 'feel' engine RPM on take off? I know that the V6 design (in general) isn't the most balanced engine format, physically speaking, (compared to a smooth inline 6).... Is this normal...do ya feel it too? cheers people......and have a great day! (a cooler one too!)

    bloody hell!!!!!
  5. yes....+1, respectfully.
  6. +77 condensate. (Recycle...save the planet!)
  7. this is very odd........(original post heading) After almost 5 years of GTSTing (33), I sold my car still thinking it was farking quick...only 185rwkw...but geesh it felt quicker; very scary when boosting around a corner, (purposely or not)...I often thought that this car could kill me if I was not thinking straight, or didn't give her my full and undivided attention. (moreso than any other car I've owned). My V35 overall is much better at being a 'driver's' car...(imho)....but that RB25DET turbo 'snatch' I miss, yes...mmmmm. The GTST, in good tune, with some basic mods and with good mechanicals is not a slow car, it can bite real hard.....but my beautiful V35 doesn't!! (LOL!!!!) The Excitement's gone?????...already???? Maybe the original poster's clutch is slipping like f**k....or the car has some other issues.....(????)
  8. $$$$$$$$!!!!.........is it just a 'heavy duty' clutch...or one of those craaaaazzzeeee puck/button clutches...(can't stand those things on a road car). Did you put it in YOself?...Is there a chance of going back to the person who charged you (that did the work)????? A clutch and a synchro set are very different things..... A heavy duty Clutch could be making the problem worse...I just don't know! We'll wait to see what the rest of the guys suggest.......just hang on.
  9. as soo as my fan dies.....I'm using this suggested method. (Blitz's)
  10. seems that in YOUR case....an additive or oil flush and application of a quality oil MAY help you out. Check it and come back to us.
  11. Your synchronising gears are worn.......or your clutch is stuffffffffffed! I think a few memebers here have answered that already for you. Where abouts in Melb are you?.....
  12. you'd think the 350z fan clutch pack/ electric thermo would be identical..(?)... (bumped again!, if nothing else!)
  13. Hi!... It's a good question...(and I will do my best to give you the least technical explanation I can, which should be easy!..LOL!) ..and I reckon is one that is commonly asked, or at least considered. But I can only be very general in my response, as each driver and gearbox performs/wears differently. In my own personal experience..... Nissan boxes are noisy!...Simple!... Don't get me wrong..I love them,..they are strong and take a lot of abuse...(we all know that!) Synchros do wear, it seems that 2nd and 3rd are the first to 'slow down'... Thrust bearings are notorious noise makers....on our cars...(I just got a new Rissan one installed, with only a slight decrease in noise). Sometimes the use of specialised additives..in your gbox can help, sometimes they don't, sometimes they can hurt your box. Where is your 'crunch', ....when does it occur.....does it occur when the box is cold......in hot/cold weather....does it occur during 'spirited' driving?....sometimes oil viscosity/quality can make all the difference. It may be that you need to look into (major) servicing of the box.....it could be a few dollars?..could save you a few too! I have always let my cars warm up....engine and box, prior to stabbing...could it make a difference to you?...dunno. Will an additive (<>60-120 buh) help you??.......dunno...could be a could place to start, for cheap. Synchro/box service??......yep, that should do it!......but........$$ I will let the experts give you the tech run down.....but just letting you know that many of us experience "the crunch", in one form or another........they are a noisy/crunchy box nowadays!! Cheers.
  14. Hi... the invoice says 35 pooooshent!.....It looks almost the same as the factory stuff....(or the stuff that's already there..lol), but it is definitely lighter... As far as what it is......its' tint!....I no know!!!!!!!I yust pay, he gip me the car beck.
  15. I was told, and was confirmed in this thread, ........Video camera's are on that level carpark....they can be your friend! Haven't you been reading!!???....LOL!
  16. a bitter-sweet ending.... Let us know what ride you get next...and about the alarm you'll be installing in it! See you at Crown, but only on carpark level 6!!! Cheers.
  17. Stephen...I'm afraid to say that I didn't.......oh!.....you were talking about the sexual act? Coooooooool!
  18. it's not just any porch monkey.....it's the Alabama!
  19. geeeesh guys...all this talk of 'legalities' is scarin the shit outa me....shall I go rip it off?
  20. mmm...it's a good point...none of us want anything but 'admiring' type attention, from the police. But we drive V35's, and if we drive them well and within the legal road specs, with a good attitude we should see no issues. But....if we drove the 32,33,34's....mmmmm...well now......that seems to be a different story, now doesn't it? "G'day driver, would you mind poppin the hood....mmmm...yes.....yes.......very well hidden turbo's on these things....what's the retail on these?"
  21. I'm just an Alabama porch monkey.
  22. Honest...I've got nothing on Chris....(waves the Chris banner) I was quoted between 160 and 200 buh, plus fitment, from Nissan...a phone call, with the FAST numbers from Chris. The cost to me in actual was, ....'my time'. But Stephen, if you ever need some help (with this unit)-(heaven forbid), I'll gladly help you...the motor is nothing special, in itself....and I'm willing to bet that a better sized item (motor) could be found at a shop. If I had the time I'd ask for your units, fix them then send them back....(if I had the time). Cheers mate.
  23. Thanks mate! Yes, just did the doors....everything else was factory; privacy glass and rear screen.....(I thought all 35's were like that??) It does make the windows look quite dark there in the workshop doesn't it!?
  24. insert smiley face icon saying the 'O' vowel here.
