  1. Ok I know this probably has been answered before but I can't find it. I have an external oil feed for my vct it is 7mm internal diameter hose. I know the oil restrictor is 1.4mm dia. My question is due to the size of the hose should I put the restrictor at the top closets to the vct or can I have it at the bottom near the block. Down the bottom would be most preferable due to the fittings already there. And if possible can someone link me where to get a 1.4mm restrictor or do you get a blank and just drill it out Thanks
  2. Yep the two at the back are in. Hopefully to the tuner next week.
  3. All right sorry for the late reply. Just clear to up so confusion. The engine has never been started full bottom end rebuild and freshened head. The timing belt and gears and all the covers were on the engine when filled with oil. the cam seal was not put on by the previous owner I dunno why. The main head studs under the rocker covers are fine Duncan it was just the m6 bolt at the front of the engine that wasn't put in. Anyway luckily the bolt went straight in after I removed the plenum so glad there wasn't a snapped bolt in there like I thought. Thanks for the input
  4. Thanks for the reply. It wasn't leaking from there Just the cam seal. I was more concerned when the engine is under pressure. It Hasn't been started yet. Just don't wanna find a milk shake in my sump when I do. It's a metal gasket I think 1.3mm thick. I pulled the engine out this arvo anyway. I'm gonna take the intake off first and then consider my options if there's a snapped stud.
  5. Hey all. I just filled my 30 with oil found a leak at the front cam seals. Then noticed one of the head bolts were missing. I'm currently in the process of removing the head because I believe theres a snapped bolt already in there. My question is is this bolt needed The bolt is the m6 one at the front of the engine. Also is it fine to reuse arp studs and nuts. I did not assemble this engine first.
  6. Thanks for the help Adam awesome write up, though i found i needed more than 300mm to get the box out, i ended up just leaving the box under the car haha it all worked out in the end tho
  7. Hey Adam thanks for the wirte up, I just had a few questions in regards how to pysically get the gearbox out, i am plaining on removing my box from a R32 gts-t rb20det, Im asuming you had all four wheels off the ground when you had it on the stands, not just the front or rear? you say 300mm is enough clearance but whats sort of jack where you using (normal trolley jack, slimline trolley jack with a gearbox adaptor or a gearbox jack)? just curious to see if my standard trolley will get it out, what sort of clearance did you have between the box and car when removing? and finally do you have any photos of you doing this? your help would be much apprecated thanks, Jonathan
