I tried to post here a while ago, but it kept giving me errors thanks for posting for me!

Yep, It's a secret where the next one will be. But stay tuned. If you haven't already, search Shannons Cars and Coffee on facebook and join the group. That way you can get updates on up coming events around the ACT and more information about where the next one will be held.

If you don't already know, next cars and coffee will be on Saturday 30th May. Starts at 10pm!

Wow, what an awesome day! Such an overwhelming response. Thanks again for everyone who came out/helping. Special shout out to Rosie34, for his marshalling skillz and help throughout the day. All in all a fantastic day, as stated above we have 175 confirming entrants (who filled out a form, paid etc) but from walking around and the few people that snuck in through the specators side, I reckon it was closer to 200 cars and bikes, if not more. Next year we will definitely have better organised parking arrangements, and possibly a section for people who want to leave early. Onwards and upwards from here, again thank you to everyone who came out, it wouldn't have been possible without you!

A couple of weeks to go now! Anyone interested in helping out, we will be meeting at Geoscience this Sunday (3rd of May) at around 3pm. If you can help out that would be fantastic, and much appreciated.
-
Anyone keen to volunteer for this? We need a few people to help with marshalling cars, setting up and general help throughout the day. Send me a PM, and I'll give you some details from there. We will have another meeting in coming weeks so everyone knows what's going on.

Every 3 months, so the next one is on the 30th of May. Further to that, next cars and coffee is on the 30th of May everyone
-
9am start, till around 2pm. Rock up anytime between then, completely informal
-
Our February edition of cars and coffee is happening on the 28th.

Bit of an update for those who are keen. This is still a go ahead, discussing a venue and a time at the moment. At this stage it looks to be going ahead early May. Possibly the first weekend as there isn't much on. It's far to busy between now and then to hold anything, with different nationals coming up as well as other shows happening around Canberra.

If you want info on shows and clubs in your area, check out the Shannon's Club (shameless plug) http://www.shannons.com.au/club/ There is plenty of stuff on there, although I think most of the events posted are the ones that we sponsor. But there are also contact details of different clubs, so it's worth an ask to find out more.

From what I have heard, the US ones are a little bit bigger than ours. They expect around a 200 - 300 car turn out. I was talking to a hot rodder guy that went over to the US, and said one of their smaller BBQ meets filled a football stadium.
-
Probably, considering you would have to pay for it. You should hold out and get here early for some free sweet roasted beans.
-
Bump! Is this Saturday (13th december) get excited everyone. The coffee is free this time round, as a thank you back to everyone.
-
Also, as an extra incentive to come out, the coffee is free!
-
Nah man sorry. Members only. Lol just kidding, of course you can come! We don't discriminate at all. We might just give you dirty looks and whisper about you when you aren't looking. (again I'm kidding) It should be a good day. These days have been getting bigger and bigger since we had our first one December last year.
-
So I can give some notice this time around. We are having another Cars and Coffee day on December 13th. This will close off the event season for the year in the ACT. So come along with your cars, and drink some coffee. Same deal as last time, pay for coffee and talk some cars. We will have My Sweet Alice, coffee van out there this time. They make an epic ice coffee and the Canberra celica club have agreed to put on a BBQ for everyone. Hope to see you all out there!

Awesome! I'm in. -
To be honest, this is the only forum/club that has registered interest in a dyno. Hence why I'm not really bothered with getting one. Plus that as well as cost, organising a workshop that is happy to get involved, insurance, food/beverages and possible entertainment. In my experience, no one is really interested in getting their big power horses out and about, if anything they are the opposite because of sus people scoping their cars out. If anyone is interested in a dyno run, go to ultimate tunes or the likes, chuck 'em a fiddy and get them to run your car up. Static displays at where its at, because they seem to work the best, why go and reinvent the wheel. I'm all for new and different things, it's getting other people exciting as well is the hard part.
-
Wow, ok yeah. Anyway back on topic. Sorry for no updates, have been busy with other things, seeing as this isn't going ahead until next year, it hasn't really been a priority. So I'm thinking that Rond Terrace (where Capital Jam was this year and last) would be a good place for the show. Has parking for spectators, plenty of room for all the cars. At this stage, a dyno day probably isn't going to happen for a number of reasons, plus as stated, they are a bit boring. Start of April seems to be when this is going to happen, but I won't be starting to organise anything until after summernats, this time of year is a bit busy and I don't have much spare time. But if anyone is keen to volunteer, let me know. I would be looking at getting a few people from each club that are interested and getting together for a brainstorm and to organise.

Believe it or not, all the insurance stuff is the easy part (it helps that I work in the industry) I'm unsure about including bikes at this stage. Most of the venues that we are thinking of using will be grass. But if that changes, bikes will be more then welcome.
