Best off asking the person that is importing the car for you, as it depends on what name is submitted when the import approval application is put in. If you want to be absolutely sure then call or email them to find out for sure.

Hrmm.. dunno wat drugs some of these ppl are on, I've never seen anyone drive around town on 3rd gear as the highest gear and only use higher gears on the highway. The autobox is meant to know which gear is appropriate at wat speed your on (isnt this the whole point of automatic), turnin off OD to save a gear? This is the absolute first time I've read this crap. If you like to only drive with only 3 gears be my guess, me? I would stick with wat the car was originally designed to do that is drive with all gears. Oh i've never had my gears changed up and down between 3rd n 4th when it is in 4th on an autobox, travelling at 60km/h. Unless of course I plant my foot on 4th gear in which it downsifts to 3rd.

yer man dont set it to exactly how much you want to spend on the car, lower it a little as there is always something (mostly minor) to fix.

Hrmm.. too late.. all these were dealt with by my importer and the application was submitted using a business name.. And the dryer and valve has been removed.. so I will have to have it replaced here.. So will need some comments on question 1 and 2 would be greatly appreciated. As to the approval.. Just got word that its approved. Was submitted on the 16th and was approved yesterday. Now just waiting for the next available boat. predator: GDay.. yeah well.. not much I could have done.. *shrug*

RedLineGTR: The HKS cooler that Bass has is the normal spec S (?) kit for the R34, I have previously had the cooler kit fitted on the R34 and like Bass mentioned a bit of cutting is involved in installing the cooler. Oh the kit was purchased locally, if I recall correctly. AFRO: I've seen the apexi cooler you mentioned tho not on a car, pretty sure you will have some problem with the left hand rear out section as you will block part of the air flow to the back of the intercooler. Would be better if you can "rotate" the rear out to more towards the bottom or facing the out to the left. By means of rotate would mean cutting and rewelding is involved? (I'm not sure on how best to approach this, but someone here is bound to be better than me to answer the "rotate" question).

Hello, Have a 15 yr old nissan comin soon (hopefully) and am currently at the stage of waiting for the import approval from dotars. Just have a few questions: 1) The aircon gass from what I can gathered need the filler valve, the receiver drier to be removed and the R12 gas evacuated. How much would it approx. cost to replace the filler valve, receiver drier and the re-gas? Are the filler valve and receiver drier items universal as well? 2) I am located in Gold Coast, but the car will arrive to Brisbane so if anyone have any suggestion where to get 1) done as well would be great. 3) How has the recent import approval been? is it still taking ages? My application was put through on the 16th and not sure how long should I really be expecting at this present time. PS. Was thinking this would be the most appropriate section to post this new thread, if its not then please move it to the correct section for me.. Apologies in advance if I made this mistake.

From memory.. the stagea's have the ecu wiring of R34, which is different to this wire 53. The only confirmed result I have seen that has worked for the wire 53 is the R33 ecu wiring. Be on the safe side and get a proper speed limiter cut, not the dodgy wire cutting. Just my 2c worth.
