  1. Hello all, Just like some information or an idea of where to get more information regarding the process that can be followed or what people has done, after a defect notice has been issued? 1) Pay the fine and rectify the defect 2) ????? 3) ????? I'm a new to all this, would like to have an idea what can be done and alternatives to save any future hassles. So far I have found out the following: + DOT dont do ADR regardless of what people's perception is + No car is defect free.. + Having a RWC and or a full RACQ check will not save your ass in the event of a defect notice + It is the owner's responsibility when the defect notice is issued, regardless of wether you have the knowledge or not.. (The modification rules change all the time, so your shafted eitherway). Please dont take this as a mean to "bash police authority" or assume that I am doing it, I have always respect the police authority (regardless of wether they were helpfull or not) . I am mearly trying to find out the actually process, what people have done, what can be done and wether it was successfully or not. If it is too sensitive to discuss here, please pm me. Cheers,

    bushes

I am assuming the alloy stuff you purchased is: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=30666 Sure it actually replaces the rear end bushes? The stock bushes I was told is silicon, so when they split/break it'll look like its leaking and stuff.. I have the same problem with my front bushes.. I've been told that for the front bushes to be replace it will be $80/$150 to "roll" the bush into the original one's location? So I would guess the rear ones are ~ the same price or slightly more.. Correct me if I'm wrong.. cause I'm still new to all these stuff.
  3. Yup... my aircon automatically switches on if I just press the demister front or rear. The freaky stuff my car does atm is below: -> when cold the break pads sqeeak... very bad.. ok after I drive the car and use the breaks a lil. -> RATTLING! dammit I had rattling and I still havent even put in my sub yet. Thinking of taking out the trims and re-sit them backin and see if it will solve me rattling problem. -> A flat spot? at ~2 or 3000rpm, tho I think it might be due to the triptronic gearbox or something.. not sure yet... -> After the car warms up the idle is not constant.. (some misses) or when I park my car on an angle with the front higher than the rear.. Taking this back to the mechanic workshop soon to work out why.. -> Tendency to attract lots of people around it.. Other than these. I am prefectly happy with my car.
  4. Lol.. I hope you are very good at hiding..
  5. Ahh.. yes a great turn out.. thanks for organising this Erin.. Hrmm.. saw a white 33 got pulled over on the helensvale exit hope its nothing major.

  9. no high speed... sweeeeet..... probably UNDER the speed limit. lol.. now your talkin A lil bit of rain never hurts.. but.. just ruins the hours put into making the car look smick. Well.. at least it takes me hours to clean mine..
  10. Hrmm.. think it would be easier that I meet u all at the carpark coz I might already be down there. Oh yer. one of me front bushes are split too, can still drive in the rain tho (hoping there aint any) just have to remember not to turn the TCS off. hehhe
  11. 146? man he's very lucky..... As to the radar jammers they are illegal to have in your car, like radar detectors? I agree with Bass Junky.. keep it on a track..
  12. Hello All, I have been seeing forum threads and guides on people explaining how to reset the ECU and also run ECU diagnostics for 32s and 33s. Can someone tell me if the procedures and return diag codes are the same for R34? Coz I have been told that the 34s cannot be done in the same way..
  13. I will need to change my rear brake pads too.. tis is GTT R34, is there a good brand that is reasonably price that I should get?
  14. Does this HICAS diagnostics work for a 34 GTT as well?
  15. 34s are called GTT As to the topic, I rarely see any skylines on the way to work.. coz I take the train to work. Hold on.. have seen a white 33 gtst at helensvale station, dont remember the rego plate..
  16. 160.. hrmm. tat means 80 bucks.. ok dude.. I'll go half wif ya. I live at helensvale, so its not tat far..
  17. sorry owned.. going to have to miss this one too.. too much stuff atm..
  18. ok how much is the twin pack ? Hrmm. where abouts are you on gc gor33?
  19. Couldnt agree with you more that the RTA was no help.. I only just got my first skyline a few weeks ago and even I had a minor defect. There are a lot of things "they" can defect you for, BOV, wing, height, exhause, even turbo timer! (yes the car yard people I no told me about it). Bottomline is if you drive a nice import you will get shafted for it. Play by the rules like someone mentioned and the chance of you getting pulled over is less, but not none. I dont understand why people ask if they should get a skyline for a first car, personally if the person drives sensibly, can afford running cost of the car and can withstand a crash with their car (**** happens even if its not your fault). Then by all means get a skyline. Personally if a person ask me this question in real life, I would say get something that is N/A, cheap to run, easy to maintain and save up for a nice skyline when they are more confident on the road and can afford a skyline. Skyline = expensive to run (fuel, insurance, etc) , maintain and will get you into some grief with some people. Upside is that it is a very nice car to drive and gets you attention. PS. I aint saying that young people will always crash, just most of the idiots out there that think they are top **** and do very very stupid things to impress people that ruins the reputation of young drivers.
  20. 1. Yes its a great car.. but like some of the people here you shouldnt start on a turbo straight away.. I had an excel for ~4 years and it was great, coz it was under warranty.. one problem got it fixed under warranty.. Now I aint saying you should get an excel.. just try to get something with manufacturere warranty and resonably cheap to run (ie. fuel, rego, insurance). 2. Personally I like to see and test drive what I am purchasing.. but tats just me. 3. Depending on what car you are comparing to.. Ford's XR6T ? very comparable.. but it really depends on exactly what you are comparing to and what you want the car for. 4. Gettin your Ls soon ? No offence but good luck on getting full comp and b able to afford a skyline. 5. All cars depreciate.. sad to say it. but car is a very big expense.. Pretty much like what most people say here.. get something that is cheap, reliable n easy to maintain for a short while and at the same time save up for a skyline. Then later get a skyline.. Dont start with a skyline straight away coz that I am sure will not only send you broke but also when you have an accident you will regret it. If you take out a loan to get the car then you will need full comp, unless the rules has changed.. full comp on skyline = big $$$. I'm close to being 25 and just own my first skyline. my premium is just shy over $1500 a year thats with rating 1 and never had any traffic fines, etc. So you can work out how much it will cost you for your insurance. And btw.. I never thrashed me first car depite what some people mentioned here about getting a first car to thrash.. Just my 2c worth.. hope it helps ya
  21. Hello all, Not sure if this is the best place to post this question.. but if not please move it for me. The question is... UHF radio is there something special I should look for? or just get the cheapest and nastiest there is? Just need an idea on how much to spend on one and wether there is any recommended one (or one to stay away from). Cheers, To get a cheapy or not a cheapy that is the question
  22. Heheh.. this would b me second skyline cruise (?). All the people is pretty friendly. Since your a grl (no offense ) and drives a GTR, pretty sure your will be very welcomed.
  23. If he just took the easy way out of just gettin a GTR, it wouldnt be as satisfying as doing up a GTST to have ~ the same amount of balls as a GTR.
