  1. So I finally found a blue tooth adapter that will work with NDS111 on my V36 skyline Great!! now I can find my problem, so I thought, no error codes. I have a weird noise I've bee trying to diagnose for about 2 months now. It's a clicking/ticking noise at low speed very light throttle and only lasts 1-2 seconds. Does anyo9ne know what this could be? It sounds like lifter ticking but it happens intermittently when the car is warm. There are no error codes so I have to assume its not detonation as there is no det error code. My thoughts at the moment are o2 sensors. I tried to check out the o2 sensors on NDS111. I know on my 300zx you basically rev the car to 2000 then watch the values fly about all over the place incicaing the car is adjusting the values. However on the NDS111 I'm not sure what readout is for the o2 sensors. I think it might be these, NB Sns2 b1 (something sensor 2 bank 1), NB Sns2 b2 (something sensor 2 bank 2), WB Sns b1 (something sensor bank 1), WB Sns b2 (something sensor bank 2) Are these the 4 oxygen sensors? If they are two of them are reading all over the place and the other two sensors are sitting at about 0.3. I'll do a screen shot soon. Can anyone send me a link or document for all the base settings for example, what is the TPS setting closed throttle what are all the other setting I should be seeing.
  2. As the title indicates I've had three cracks windscreens in 2 1/2 years. This is either a problem with the install, dodgy glass or just plain unlucky. My previous car I had for 14 years and it took plenty of hits over is 320000km life with not one crack. Buut in my V36 every time I get even the tiniest stone hitting it it cracks beyond repair. Is this common with these cars (sedan) or am I unlucky? Could it be a faulty installation, I've used the same person each time as he is cheap. $275 installed vs others at $800+. Or is it low quality glass, can I request genuine glass?
  3. the link must have been updates as they are only showing from 2010 onwards. Can someone send me the 2007 one. [email protected]
  4. So is this basically to Boonah, lunch then back? Can you update the route map please. Keen for this. Just need to check distance hence cost of fuel for trip.
  5. Does anyone in Brisbane have software to analyse my car? Something like data scan? Data scan is not configured for the V36 yet. I think I have a problem with one of the following but cannot be sure without spending thousands randomly replacing parts. On light throttle (high load) there is a very subtle stumble, the engine feels smooth but the power delivery is on off on off. Give it WOT and it's fine. Originally I suspected the fuel 95ron, then the gearbox, then spark plugs which I replace. It also has a grounding kit. I have been using 98 octane and the problem has been there almost as long as I can remember. 2 years owned. People have suggested crank angle sensor, my mechanic has suggested a lazy O2 sensor. Does anyone have something they can definitive look at and prove something is malfunctioning? When I had my 300zx it was possible to see if you had a lazy O2 by looking at the duty cycle in data scan. I'm looking for something similar as I don't fancy replacing 4 O2 sensors on the off chance one of them is faulty? P.S. Nissan won't look at it because it is an import and I don't trust them anyway.
  6. Thanks but I don't know the part numbers.
  7. Looking for a supplier of headlight covers. I have plastic stress cracks all over my headlights. The only option I have found is to replace the entire assembly at $1200 per side and these are U.S so I think the diffuser will be wrong and set up for driving on the right. My car is v36 but I posted here as the outcome off this post could help all models if a good supplier is known
  8. Just saw this in the workshop manual. Maybe there is a special tool. "Remove spark plug with a spark plug wrench (commercial service tool)."
  9. Got the spark plugs and off I went to replace them. Even got a new socket to fit as is has a 14mm hex which is tiny. So started on the passenger side and could only remove one plug. The socket seemed to be slipping of the hex. I though maybe the socket was too thick so I ground down the outside of the socket thinking it was fouling on the outside of the plug hole. Still no luck. So I stopped and put it all back together again. I have only replace one plug and didn't bother on the driver side as I'm sure I will have the same problem. I didn't want to strip the spark plug, thinking I'll have to take it to the mechanic and spend $200 on labour unless someone here can help. Is there a special tool for this job that only Nissan has? Has anyone had this problem before.
  10. So I got the new plugs. Denso FXE22HR11 to NGK DF7H-11B. Just curious, why does my skyline have different plugs to the 350z when they use the same engine, VQ35?
  11. +1
  12. Hoping to make this
  13. Hi All. I have an 07 V36 (VQ35HR) and I think I have a very minor miss. When accelerating lightly usually uphill or hard acceleration I can feel an ever so slight sense that the power is not smooth and I can only describe this like a miss. There is still plenty of power but the delivery feels like it could be smoother. Before I go changing plugs ($100 for set of iridium's) could there be anything else to look at? I have data scan but not really sure how to us it to identify this sort of issue (assuming there are no code issues). Thanks.
  14. Where is the seat? post code?
  15. What do the stock 19" rims look like? I thought it was 17" or 18".
  16. They are stickers aren't they? The pic looks a bit tacky to me. Are they just resting on top of the buttons and not actually installed?
  17. Pads are ok, they must have just got to the point where the fluid was a little low. I have new Hawks ready to go on but need time to get the front rotors machined at the same time.
  18. So I topped up all the levels and no lights on since. Very weird symptoms from low brake fluid (not below the low mark) but seems to have worked.
  19. well the VDC has not come on since, However there is a hill just before I get home (driving up) and frequently as I accelerate up the hill (>50% WOT) the hand brake light comes on, then as I back off the throttle it goes off again. If I drive up more moderatley it doesn't come on at all. So weird.
  20. I backed off the adjusting nut on the foot brake pedal about half a turn and havn't had the problem since. I think maybe I over adjusted it to trigger the PB light and perhaps that led to the VDC.
  21. no change to tyres or wheels apart from taking them off when adjusting the park brake. Fluid level is fine.
  22. I will never want to take my car to Nissan, I've never had good dealings with car dealership workshops with any of my cars. Dealers are hopeless. Any one know any good workshops in brissy that can do a code check?
  23. can you direct me to where or how I can read the codes?
  24. Hi all. Today while driving normally on my way home my 'VDC off' , 'Slip' and the park brake light all came on on the dash. I pressed the VDC button a few times and no change. I stopped the car turned off and on again and it went away. Then drove off and about 200m later they all came back on again. I left it as I was now on the motoray then the handbrake light went off. I stopped at the shop turned off went into the shop and them came out and started it again. Everything seemed find for the next 5k's home. On the way I tested the VDC on off and it was working. ie. when off the wheels spun when on they didn't. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this? Is the handbrake related? A few weeks ago I adjusted the hand brake and since then the hand brake light pops on sometimes after hard acceleration then goes off. But this VDC thing is new.
  25. I have had them on my V36 for 2 years now. I think they are great. Amazing performance for the price. Good in the dry and in the wet. I actually found them a little noisy, but not bad enough to rate them poorly. They only go to 255 because this is goodyears 2nd best tyre. The Asymetric is the better tyre and has more sizes.
