  1. Well done! (Please tell me you mean clinch? )
  2. Have also heard great things about NPC and Coppermix. I've been running a Jim Berry 'full monty' with organic pressure plate behind a 365 rwkw 26/30 GTR. Feels like a stocker and no complaints but then I don't launch super hard.
  3. All dampers back up for sale due to time wasters. Potential future time wasters please note: The FS forum and those who post in it aren't here for entertainment purposes to ease the boredom of your day. If you just want to ask questions and find out about suspension tuning do it in the relevant tech forum so others can learn and contribute. Don't ask for a postage calc to your location, and then say you don't have funds. Or ask lots of detailed questions about spring rates/ride height/setup, get excited and say you'll take them, send your postal address, and then reneg. It's free to send PMs but if you're a time waster it will probably come at a cost to your reputation. And genuine buyers with funds please feel free to PM
  4. It's also about nailing down spurious terms like 'honesty system' (sounds too good to be true) so that you're prepared when you make a claim and they ask you to prove your version of events, which they WILL do if the claim is sizeable. I had a vehicle stolen from a workshop while I was several hundred k's away and while the police were satisfied with my version of events the insurance investigator wanted a substantiated alibi to prove that I didn't take my own car for a joyride and smash it. Sounds incredible but behaviours from people trying to cheat a system can be amazing. Sales people who've maybe never lodged a serious claim themselves and are trying to sell you a product by using terms like 'honesty system' to explain away serious and legit questions, instead of looking into it further, do no one any favours. It could be widely interpreted by inexperienced policy holders in particular to mean that the insurer will just accept the insured's version of events, which is totally misleading and leaves the insured - no matter how honest - unprepared for the investigation. Insurance fraud is significant so there's unlikely to be a unique 'honesty system' here beyond what's implicit in all insurance claims. This seems like a great product and it's obviously helped our community so I'm all for it. But for what it's worth I'd suggest tackling them a bit on what 'honesty system' means in terms of their response to a claim and I'd bet that if asked to put something in writing there'd be some rapid backing away. It's worth being prepared particularly when taking out a policy that has conditions as an insurance investigation is inevitable in the case of a large claim. Anyone who thinks they might come close to the limit of usage should protect themselves and not have to go through grief when things get serious; although it's a pita simple things like filling in a $5 vehicle usage log book from the newsagent, and keeping date stamped photos of the car at events etc can help quite a lot.
  5. Good to see you got it insured Mike. Re their advice that it's an honesty system, when I insured mine a while back with another company that also had a limitation on use I was told that in the event of a claim the insured's version of usage would be verified with workmates, car club members, housemates, relatives, partners etc. My experience with insurance companies and their investigators, albeit limited, is that if the claim is significant they will go to considerable lengths to see if there are reasons upon which the claim could be questioned. Just saying...
  6. Hi Chris Was interested in the R34 diff in 2007, still interested!
  7. Hi everyone have a few goodies FS here - Brembo F40s, and Koni / Bilstein / PSS9 shocks and springs to suit R32 GTR or Gts 4 http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/464582-brembo-f40-koni-bilstein-sk-group-buy-bilstein-pss9-to-suit-r32-gtr-gts-4/
  8. Reducing my stock of dampers and springs. All of these setups have been valved/sprung for the 'real world' (using a proper shock dyno). Handling and ride are well balanced ie you won't bounce off mid corner bumps or skip across the tarmac when you stand on the brakes on an uneven patch of road. All sets have done less than 2000 km road work. Prices plus Auspost or pickup in Canberra (can meet halfway between Canberra and Sydney by arrangement). Details: Konis. Adjustable valving and ride height (spring seat grooves cut into shock body). Revalved by Toperformance Melb to provide a more compliant base setting (stock Koni valving is suited to Japanese roads and ridiculously hard). Note they do not come with spring hats shown. $475 Bilstein SK. Adjustable ride height. Includes coilover adapters for use with standard spring hats. Red springs are Eibach. $650 Bilstein PSS9. These are a serious damper. Adjustable valving and ride height. Blue springs are Bilstein, red springs are Eibach. RRP around $2k. $900 Brembo F40 calipers with adapter brackets. Not sure what size discs the adapters suit so selling these as a pattern only (if you need to get adapters made up it should be cheaper). Very good condition barring one slightly torn seal due to it being jagged by a slipping screwdriver when working on something nearby . $500 Happy to answer any questions, no low ballers please.
  9. G'day Scotty what did you do to upgrade the tank lid? I'm running heavy gauge wire to a relay in my R32, and want to upgrade the wiring from there to the pump (above and below the lid) before fitting a Walbro but not sure if the stock plug pins will take it. 360rwkw @ 23psi so might not reach the upper levels of current draw enough to worry. Anyone else please feel free to chime in. Thanks
  10. Might move these q's over to the fuel pump thread
  11. Dose pipe checked when car refused to start, all ok
  12. Definitely agree with point 2 although that could be too good for them. The guys who found it were only second to me in being pissed off. We've got a 450 lined up, and the direct feed/fuse and relay have been installed but not sure about what to do about the stock loom between the relay and tank lid. The Fuel Pump thread had some discussion on the wiring between the relay and the plug in the tank lid but I couldn't see where anyone had come up with a solution yet. I was thinking about running a heavier gauge feed between relay and tank lid plug, and then from the underside of the plug/lid to the pump on the assumption that the plug pins could take it.
  13. Hi everyone, would really appreciate some experienced- based advice on next steps to address this problem. Car wouldn't start and the problem was traced to fuel starvation. On removing the pump it was found that the fuel line rubber had perished so it seems the workshop that installed the 044 used fuel line that was unsuitable for an intank application. 044 mesh was clogged and once unclogged it worked fine. I haven't seen the rubber yet but I'm told it just falls to pieces and dissolves. No indications of a problem until it refused to start recently. Plans are to: Clean tank Clean injectors (maybe overkill?) Flush everything from the fuel rail back Replace filter Replace pump (with a Walbro) Any thoughts on other things to do?
