Educated Guess At The Final Tune Results
Scooby replied to Nismo 3.2ish's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
3.2 into boat, LSA into R34. Done. -
The discussion of what constitutes a weapon usually becomes circular because the intended use of pretty much anything is in the eye of the beholder. I think Troy hit on the issue up front; 'the possessor's intended use...'.

Minimising harm to the community is the bigger issue that should guide this type of discussion. When objectively comparing the harm done to the community by licensed shooters, to that caused by criminals, it's statistically insignificant. To go further compare it to the harm done by motor vehicle accidents and it doesn't even register. Remove the media obsession with dramatising incidents involving firearms and they'd hardly rate a mention. To answer your question Terry, legal firearm ownership is at an all time high and violence related to legal ownership is at an all time low so I don't think psych testing is either effective or necessary. IIRC 30 or so people die during Xmas / New Year every year but no government has suggested psych testing to determine a person's susceptibility to drink driving temptation during the festive season. Or maybe testing inclination towards to risk taking behaviour before being allowed to possess a performance vehicle. That doesn't mean we should ignore it but I'd rather have my tax $ spent on road safety to see if we can actually save some people each year. Or maybe stemming the flow of illegal firearms. Unfortunately the response to firearms violence in this country is to make it harder for legal shooters ie those who aren't causing the problem, and who are already legislatively controlled beyond that of any other sport, to continue pursuing that sport. To ensure consistency of approach, maybe whenever the number of tragedies each festive season reaches a certain level everyone who has all of their demerit points should be fined. Unfortunately most gun control measures are ineffective, applied to the wrong part sector of the community, and for the wrong reasons. As for psych testing in the US, ditto. I don't have the stats to prove it but I'd wager that the same applies re legal and illegal ownership. I've been in several open carry communities and no one cares - the ones openly carrying aren't the ones you have to worry about.

D2 Brake Fitting Help
Scooby replied to d-ranged's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Confused...is the problem on both sides or one only? Have you compared dimensions of the adapters side to side? If there's nothing amiss drive it gently as suggested and check clearance. -
Brake Kit Options R33 Brembo Ap R35

I had 2500s with DBA 5000 slotted fronts, squeal would just about shatter windows. Changed to one piece rotors and no squeal. -
Where Can I Rebuild Mine's Ohlins
Scooby replied to etang789's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ohlins isn't being let down, they are quite ok with the arrangement. Maybe someone else knows more. That the local agent can't get parts easily or tap into a global network seems to further suggest that Ohlins is taking a 'JDM product for a JDM market' approach. -
Where Can I Rebuild Mine's Ohlins
Scooby replied to etang789's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Been down this path with my set, thought that if they bear the Ohlins name they should be serviced as such. No dice. The guys in Melb refuse to touch them and claimed none of the parts are interchangeable while appearing put out by even having to talk about it. Ohlins said they understand but it's not their problem. So they're Ohlins shocks...except when they're not. -
350 F Sport is a cracker of a car. Far lower maint costs, great ride, wears better than the Euros, less likely to get keyed.

Thanks Gary, I do indeed have an R32 so hence very interested in the system. Was just concerned that - particularly in the case of the 32 - making a system that has x duty then run constantly at x+1 will break or wear something exponentially. Power levels not withstanding, from what you're saying can I take it that this won't be an issue?

I was thinking to put 34 diffs into my 26/30 32 GTR to give the thing more legs and use the torque better. Just seem to row gears constantly on full noise. -
