  1. price drop on the Sard pump.
  2. pump dropped to $300 firm.
  3. you'll need an adapter to use a pod on the AFM in any case, available from Autobarn etc. The filter has a 75mm outlet so it will fit a pod adapter of that size. but yes with an adapter it will work fine. cheers
  4. ali have you got the charcoal canister ? cheers
  5. cavitation does affect cooling efficiency as it means the coolant is not being circulated efficiently. sometimes in the extreme. it also creates bubbles, a big no for mr cooling system. i've seen a test rig with a perspex housing stuck onto the back of chev and ford water pumps driven by a washing machine motor. seeing the flow stall, and even reverse in some circumstances was a bit of a wake up call. serious mods to the impeller fixed it however. cheers
  6. very sorry to hear Al, damn bad news.
  7. apologies, indeed it is, jut like the one in the shed. that'll teach me to rely on memory.
  8. i'd look for the source of the hissing noise, then have the booster checked. i don't think it's the mcyl size for reasons already stated.
  9. a small mcyl will give you a soft pedal with more travel (same pressure over a smaller area but you need to move it further to move the same amount of fluid), a big one will give a harder hard pedal with less travel. so a larger mcyl will give you a pedal that's harder still. bleeding wll give you a harder pedal not a softer one, as you're not compressing air. the GTR does have a vac tank for the clutch. sounds like the booster might be faulty or disconnected, have you got the directional valve for the vac feed in the right way? brake boosters do develop leaks, i got mine reco'd for $200 and it made a big difference. if the pads are race type this can sometimes give a similar feel, it's just that you are pushing so hard to get the thing to stop when they're cold that it feels like a hard pedal. -7 to -21 is a big drop, have you checked for leaks elsewhere? do you know what was like with other brakes or were they on the car already?
  10. have you put the intercooler piping back on correctly? a leak will make it behave like that. neons lol
  11. recently i saw a catch can made by a well known Sydney fabricator (page 19 of latest HPI magazine). what made it interesting was that it had a line from each rocker cover fitting to the can (connected where the hose joins the rocker covers in stock configuration) as opposed to the normal single line from both rocker covers. i've heard arguments that a single line from both rocker covers is too small in volume for the fumes being evacuated. the same argument suggested that catch cans had to be of a certain volume for the same reason, although the requirement to retain oil and a filter medium will obviously play some part in overall size. interestingly the Nismo one is about the size of a coke can but drains into the turbo oil drain, and draws from the rocker covers via one line. based on the number of set ups using a single line to draw from both rocker covers there doesn't seem to be a problem with this approach, and the one in HPI is overkill. does anyone know differently? cheers
  12. i think you'd be pressed getting 350 rwks from R34N1s on a calibrated dyno.
  13. Hi Keith mate beware of using a thermo, there have been mixed results with these in the past and a few people have reverted to the engine driven fan. your call obviously, but keep and eye on the temp gauge if you go with the thermo. Cheers
  14. I've currently got Nissan Brembos F and R on a 32 GTR, with the mcyl from the original Sumitomo brakes, and want to fit 355mm front rotors with F50 calipers on the front. Been speaking with some brake people in the US and they reckon it could be a less than ideal situation due to F to R imbalance ie 355 vs 300, and that pedal feel could be compromised due to a mismatched mcyl. I understand the relationship between piston size, mcyl bore and pedal feel so I know where they're coming from, but I can think of examples ie Brembo and AP that don't seem to require bigger a bigger mcyl - although that doesn't mean that it's a perfect solution either; race cars with serious brakes don't generally run around with a stock mcyl. Car is street driven and sees occasional track days on street tyres. Anyone have experience with this or a similar set up? Cheers, thanks in advance.
  15. Tatua Dairy Whip Lite Whipped Cream in a Can. Ingredients: Cream (50%), Skim Milk Powder, Malotodextrin, Propellant (Nitrous Oxide), Just not sure what size fogger nozzles to get for a 100hp shot. Think of the uses...
  16. check out Nistune, just like a pfc but programmable, requires new board les than half the price of a pfc all up and allows you to monitor a buch of parameters with a laptop. oops my bad they don't go R33 GTSt sorry.
  17. that's a great idea. missed the snorkel first time, i did a similar thing on a Jensen Interceptor with a commodore bottle and was equally pleased because it worked so well. can i ask what it comes from?
