  2. not sure i'd be putting grease anywhere near my brakes.
  3. meister....mmmmmmm
  4. were they designed around a 6250 limit or is that the limit imposed on them due to longevity requirements, vehicle performance envelope etc and hence where holden put the redline on the tach? i could probably second guess, but what's 'efficient' revving? cheers
  5. i reckon leave it in if you can, i had to mod the gearbox housing to suit the RB30 block and therefore it had to come out. i've also got trust long pipes and the gearbox was a real problem to get back in as the pipes interfered. with care the engine went back in fine with them on. leaving it in also means no atessa bleeding.
  6. height adjustable suspension? for the speed bumps at woolies i mean. and where exactly do you put your shopping? i'd laugh if you did take it to woolies and got pulled over by that copper from summernats. priceless. i like the pic taken from way above... 'this is what you will see if you parachute onto Michelle's car...' you must be seriously wound up with anticipation...
  7. i've back to back dyno tested a stock Nissan panel filter and Blitz pods (ie LOTS of flow) on an R32 GTR with the bottom of the filter box removed to improve flow and the flat element taped in place. there was no difference in power and the 33 GTR has a better design airbox so the flow aspect should be taken care of as long as both holes are open. use the stock filter, you probably won't know the difference other than your wallet will be heavier and you won't have crap on your AFM elements.
  8. interested, is this a genuine entire Brembo kit? if not can you let me know who made what etc (other than the calipers obviously). pm if you like. cheers
  9. Michelle has bought a Transformer! Does it have a Transformer name or are you going to leave that up to your trusted SAU colleagues? Well done, these things are a joy to work on in terms of accessability. Takes half the time or less to do everything ie change pads, springs, wheels, dampers, alignment. You might still go temporarily mad trying to get it right...but it'll take less time.
  10. redline filters no longer warrant their filters for turbo cars as they have seen a filter fitted like this melt and get sucked into the turbo. they actually payed for the cost of the engine and now don't want to know about turbos. not saying it will happen to you, but it did happen.
  11. can't find the part number on the AP Racing website, how old are they? if i'm correct you were going to use these at one stage, what changed your mnd? cheers
  12. Hi Gary, I wouldn't try using the larger rotors with smaller calipers, you'll just wear a nasty groove in your discs at the outside and have the pad running on an unmachined surface on the inside. I'd send them back and keep looking for what you want. Alternatively can you use Brembo calipers? They come up from time to time and you already have the discs. Or maybe better still switch to R33 GTSt/R32 GTR Sumitomo calipers and rotors? The difference between 297mm and 310mm is probably not worth the hassle. Cheers
  13. metallic green GT40 rep cruising around Jerra.
  14. RB26s have noisy top ends, the inj and solid lifters see to that. HKS turbos have HKS in raised lettering on the intake ie silver housing on the side facing the front of the car. if they were HKS turbos and were 'steel wheeled' that's unusual as they have steel wheels anyway, unless they were damaged. if the housing says garret it sounds like maybe they've just done a steel wheel coversion on the stockers. did autotech suggest anything other than a turbo? i'd hope they could be more specific, or are they just as confused? try taking it to Trojan, John is a cluey guy. don't worry too much, engines have all sorts of weird ass ways to make noises. have a look at your accessories, the ps pump can make bad noises when low on oil, and the a/c comp sounds like a meat grinder if it needs gas or it's bearings are shot. also engine fan clutches make strange noises when they let go, alternatively see if the fan is hitting anything when it turns.
  15. hi robbie, i'll take the pod cover if you're happy with an extra $20 for registered post. if you're ok with that pm me your account details and i'll make the transfer. cheers
