  1. Seems I'm getting a vacuum build up in my tank. The noise stops when I release the filler cap, with an accompanying rush of air. Anyone has had this issue before? Cheers
  2. I'm getting a vacuum build up in my tank - it's obviously able to vent to some extent because occasionally it sounds like someone farting inside the tank. Best way I can decribe it. The noise stops when I release the filler cap, with an accompanying big rush of air. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue before? Cheers
  3. sold pending payment
  4. only pods or adapters also?
  5. Hi Steve, I'll take the console surround. I'm in Canberra, southside. You have message. Cheers
  6. Hi Chris, happy to do so but what clips exactly? They use the same mounting points as the stock ones. Cheers Mark
  7. Have R33 GTR valve springs, higher rate than GTSt for some safety at higher boost. $100 Also tailored F and R sheepskin covers for R32 GTR, seriously they are really good quality and I found them great on trips, which is what I bought them off the previous owner for. $200 or make me an offer. Cheers
  8. Item: As above Age: Unknown Condition: Very good, some minor surface imperfections that you can see in the photo. I reckon they would polish out easily if you could be bothered. No scratches. Price: $150 neg delivered via reg post To Fit: R32 GTST Location: Canberra Contact: PM or here Comments: Selling because the previous owner told me they'd fit a GTR. Which they don't. Please no lowbal offers or 'what's the lowest you'd go' questions. Make a reasonable offer and I'll consider it, because I can't use them. Cheers
  9. silver R32 Gtr about 0740 this morning heading towards lanyon drive off the monaro. Ladybytes?
  10. 2nd Autotech.
  11. what ride height hub to guard does that give, and how much clearance is there between the bump stop and the shock body when the car is on it's wheels? i suspect there's no problem with stock type springs.
  12. thanks, thought that might have been the case as the spring in noone's pics looks shorter, and according to the Eibach cattledog his and yours are 203mm and mine are 254 mm length. shock part number are same as mine. either way it still means that there's going to be bugger all travel between the bottom of the bump stop and the top of the shock whether i get the ride height down by using a shorter spring or machining another groove. unless i'm missing something...
  13. not sure what's going on with my set up. djr can you please post your shock p/n if it's easy to do? i've got the Bilsteins and coilover conversion from SK. front springs are 1000.250.0275 so same spring but larger diam. i've got the same set up as noone ie using the top coilover adapter under the stock hat as per his pics. with the height adjustment all the way down i've got 390mm hub to guard at the front, and 80mm between the bottom of the bump stop and the top of the damper body. if i machine another groove 40mm down the shock that leaves me with 40mm travel. if i need a helper that's 20mm thick compressed that means the groove needs to be 60mm down the shock body so 20 travel left. hmmm.... is there something i'm not seeing?
  14. there is a sticky in this forum titled Shock absorber 101 differences between a good one and a bad one. might help.
  15. Happy to buy or exch for Brembo fronts, need to know more about these first. How much use, how old etc? Also can't find the 6040 part number on the AP website. Cheers
  16. interested in the seats can you please send pics
  17. ditto pro engines.
  18. hi mike, would like to see some dyno results with the airbox if you get the chance. 330rwhp is about what i was getting with the box but you might like to try doing what i did - remove the bottom half of the airbox and tape the filter in - to see if it improves things. also...don't want to tell you how to suck eggs but make sure the afm elements are not getting oil on them, it will pay to check. the standard nissan paper element filters better and flows just as much. the resonator is probably not there on your car, most have it removed. it's a box that originally sits behind the pass side vent in the front bar, roughly underneath the stock airbox location, and feeds air into the hole under the headlight. the duct going from the headlight hole to the airbox inlet should be OK in terms of flow capacity ie i don't think it will restrict flow to the airbox, but i haven't done any accurate measuring. cheers
  19. drive normally for 5 minutes after a thrash, and with a bb water cooled turbo it's doubtful you'll need to cool down more anyway. and if you haven't thrashed it then normal shut down without a cool down is fine ie manoeuvering into the garage after cruising down the street is enough.
  20. Marcus you are getting 340 rwkw on a stock R32 GTR airbox, unmodified? Hi Geoff, understand where you are coming from, i watched the inlet hoses during all runs and they didn't move. hi Rev 210, i agree but at this stage - not withstanding what Marcus has said - it appears that the stock airbox won't flow enough air for 268 rwkw with the bottom attached irrespective of the circumstances. once i've modified the airbox so that it flows sufficiently i'll start refining the tune with the bonnet down. guys understand i'm just sharing my experiences - i'm not taking sides for either pods or stock boxes, it's up to individuals to decide what they need. in my case having seen what i've seen i'll be modifying the stock box. cheers
  21. no, bonnet open. i don't agree that we aren't anywhere. i think we can categorically state that the stock airbox will inhibit power due to the size of the orifice in the bottom half - bonnet up or down - but clearly the panel filter (tested up to those power levels) has the capacity to flow sufficient air if fed correctly. i know there's a lot more to the issues of airflow and under bonnet dynamics but this shows conclusively that the bottom half of the box can't flow sufficient air. i'm not suggesting that this is the be all and end all of tests, but it does tell us some things for sure. got to start somewhere, suffice to say i was happy with the outcome as i now know more than i did.
  22. Just did some back to back testing using a pair of Blitz steel mesh pods and a stock R32 GTR airbox with paper element filter. Car pulled 268 rwkw on 10 psi with pods. Fitted airbox and dropped 40 rwkw. Took bottom off airbox and taped panel filter in place, back up to 268 rwkw. I was a firm believer in using the stock box and panel filter but clearly above certain power levels it has limitations. Just my 2c into the stock airbox vs pods debate. Cheers
