  1. so... checked plugs, no signs of over being rich PFC tune yielded 264 rwkw @ 7000 (up from peak 220 @ 6500) 10psi AFRs below 12 on boost Inj Duty 71 much nicer to drive - as crisp and responsive as normal. now for the run in...
  2. Hi Darrin I'll take it please PM me your details for direct deposit unless you want to do COD. Cheers
  3. might be worth calling Castlemaine Rod Shop, they make a amazing number of conversion kits. you could also try and find something like an owners club or even talk to a Nissan commercial wrecker, sometimes they can be a mine of info on what goes with what because they see so many parts. if you dig enough you'll find someone, somewhere that has done it before. alternatively, once you've calculated the time and money, and then doubled it, consider buying another ute unless this is something you really want to do. google is you friend. $1400 for the V6 kit: http://www.v6conversions.com.au/nissan720.htm
  4. I've got a good RB26 sitting on an engine stand if you're interested. But you wanted good/cheap/easy so I agree with Frink go the L20 or, if you're up for a challenge, research the 2.4 to make sure it's easy beyond the bolt in aspects.
  5. And indeed the cat light did come on once for about 3 seconds at the top of a long hill last time I drove it - and before seeing Sydneykid's posts. Haven't dropped the pipe yet to have a look at the cat, does anyone know for sure if I should expect dead / highly degraded / clogged cat? Of course if it's obviously shagged I'll get a new one but I've never shagged a cat before (go on laugh) so not sure if the temporary overheat would be catastrophic, would prefer to avoid the cost of a new one. And I've loaned a PFC, dyno on Wed morning to sort this out. Cheers
  6. I'll suggest AFM
  7. Second Proengines; Greg has posted many times on these forums under that user name - check out what he has to say and you can see he is clever and very reasonable.
  8. Thanks Sydneykid and Nic, I've found a PFC to borrow and will be addressing the issue as soon as I can get it tuned. Luckily there hasn't been that much 'running in' yet. In the meantime you might be interested in this: http://home.aanet.com.au/nistune/docs/NISt...Quick_Start.pdf http://home.aanet.com.au/nistune/docs/NIStune_FAQ.pdf Cheers
  9. interested in the loom, email sent.
  10. That's exactly what mine does. Making enquiries now about getting an ecu remap.
  11. Guys any ideas on the part throttle richness? Didn't happen with the RB26, not sure why it should be so rich with the 30 using the stock ecu. Actually feels really unresponsive at part throttle sometimes, almost like it's taking its time to figure out what to do. Once at a certain throttle opening it's 'off we go'. Cheers
  12. Hi Geoff, you're not a fan of the N1 either? After much deliberation and discussion with Greg, as well as Harris Engines, I've used one. They both seemed to think that while N1s don't like to be bounced off the limiter repatedly or spun to 9k rpm, they're otherwise OK.
  13. need some for an R32 GTR. they are probably the same or close, pics would help. cheers
  14. all footage right way up = bonus
  15. the bellmouth might make a difference but if i follow what you're saying correctly, i don't think it will make it for the reasons you're suggesting. remember the whole reason we use splits to keep the w/g and exh seperate is so the w/g flow does not impede the exh flow. there is no turbo system that i'm aware of that uses pressure from the exh to keep the w/g closed. this would also suggest that when you are at wot the w/g operation woud be compromised by the exh gas flow by not letting it open. the w/g is controlled by the actuator. the preload might be too low and be allowing some creep or there might be another issue with the intake side, but i guess you've checked thoroughly for obstructions etc? it would be unlike CES to make something that's not functional, unless the gas you're pushing through the hi flow is exceeding the capacity of the exhaust but they seem to be switched onto that sort of thing. also have you enlarged the wastegate orifice? can't speak from experience on this one but apparently some turbos with hi flow etc will exceed the capacity of the standard size wastegate. good luck, intersted to hear how you get on just saw your post re no w/g lines needed to make it open - now i reckon definately check out that actuator.
  16. you've got my attention, I didn't know there was a 600hp balancer option for the RB26 - was never keen on paying $1000 for a balancer, particularly on an engine that spins more slowly than the RB26. do you know where he got it from? i'd be keen to get one myself. cheers
