  1. That's good to know Mick, muffler design etc is everything, who built yours?
  2. Pete you're on the right track, maybe try to find out what the cat actually is and also the reason for the diam reduction before you drop more coin. The only way to really id a restriction is to run it up on a dyno and back to back after removing individual parts. Did this on mine and it was interesting, I'm sure Jez could do it for you. If you're concerned re noise, 4" will be good for grunt but probably also louder.
  3. 4" system with 5" cat. In the photo it looks like they necked the exhaust to accomodate the small cat. So in anticipation of the build they tell you to fork out 2600 beer tokens for a 3.5" exhaust and now they tell you a 4" might be better? Alternatively, they built an engine package and tuned it all at your considerable cost, and immediately after tell you the exhaust is too small? Maybe I missed something.
  4. Agree Brett, if the sm is legitimately buggered it's buggered and Pete would probably be fine paying for a replacement plus fitting. However in this case instead of just being genuinely concerned and providing an answer as simple as 'sorry to hear that, not good, let us look at it when you bring it in' they offer him a weirdass excuse and the opportunity to pay even more money (top $ for fitting no doubt) for a product he doesn't need. (Edit: Pete's beaten me to it) I'm aware of another situation where two bolts holding the ac comp bracket to the block were left out, so it wouldn't surprise me if they just didn't tighten the sm bolts.
  5. Charge outrageous money for bad work, take more money to fix bad work. Mmmmm...hi torque starter anyone?
  6. Won't get worse, just considering the possibility of cumulative fouling. Probably not an issue at cruise but why take a chance when you might be spending a lot of time idling, stop start etc? Your call mate, just saying...
  7. What Mick said. Pete fwiw I wouldn't drive it other than to Sydney, you don't need it to foul up even worse when you're nearly there and in Sydney traffic.
  8. Can't afford it if you live on the central coast and need to take it there three times, petrol and accomodation is expensive. How rich does it need to be to foul plugs, and how rich to cause running in problems? Big or small difference? Hopefully rich enough to foul plugs doesn't mean rich enough to cause problems running in.
  9. Pete there's a lot of talk about warranty, what exactly is your warranty 'in writing'?
  10. Just take it back and specify a time for them to have it fixed and back to you. A couple of days to diagnose and fortnight to fix should be more than enough. Is it still losing water?
  11. Depends on a range of things for sure but it occurred to me that if this turbo is good for around 400kw and generally gives its best at just over 20 psi then it's probably a very good result. No experience with a 6262 so I really don't know. Need to know what we're looking at before assessing if it's a 'good' outcome or not.
  12. What can a 6262 be expected to make and at what boost?
  13. 80k? Pete you can just use first, ditch gears 2-6 to save weight.
  14. Pete that should allay any major concerns about response!
  15. Don't worry Pete, that combo will get the wrinkles out. Ahem
  16. Pete you're taking this very calmly. If I got sent a copy of my car being stripped I'd be Hang on though are you sure you said BUILD the car????
  17. Pete your car will be ready tomorrow and exceed your expectations. This is true for one week. Enjoy.
  18. Nice pics Pete, but how's YOUR engine going? CR will be like my cam specs, closely guarded secret
  19. Pete look at the shoe in the bottom right corner of the pic, maybe they're doing Swan Lake instead of working on your engine Plan for May, hope for April.
  20. Hi Robbie I'm looking at the ISC strut tops myself, can you please explain a little more about under the foam stopper there is a tubular spacer that needed to cut 10mm and also used a couple of washers to get the spacing/height right. Thanks Mark
  21. Pete, Jim Berry full monty with organic plate works for me in 26/30 GTR 350rwkw @ 6250 but then I don't 'launch' so may not suit your needs. Back OT I spoke to Award about gbox strength recently, their view was that a good margin of failures occur due to: 'nut that holds the wheel' downshifts rather than upshifts
