  2. '...Jeremy...had to stick to the speed limit...' JC: HAHAHAHAHAHA! Priceless. At 407 km/h the car was rock solid. Wheel was almost still except for steering input. Pure genius. I hear the engineers at Bugatti are considering a power up using an RB30 bottom end.
  3. Matt there is a Castrol agent in Queanbeyan. Can't remember the road sorry, but they're in the yellow pages.
  4. he did think that one up.
  5. Hey Shane how did you go with getting the engine to sit right?

Otherwise both are in good used condition. New price approx $220 ea, asking $260 for both or $130 for the damaged one and $150 for the undamaged one.
  13. i'm voting that there's some funnyness with the mounts.
  14. my adapter plate is only about 8mm thick, hopefully there was more clearance than that with the RB26. just had a look in the engine bay, the steering rack looks higher than the crossmember.
  15. Hi Shane, not sure what's going on there. Cross member clearance shouldn't be a problem, the deck height is increased at the upper end of the block from the top of the water pump upwards. And the bonnet should well and truly close if you can fit a strut brace under there, the're a lot higher than 38mm above the cam covers. The engine is supposed to be on a bit of an angle but the clearance should still be good. Try looking on the GTROC UK site for comparison pics http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/52458-rb...ight=r32+combat at the risk of stating the obvious it seems that the whole engine is tilted way to far up at the front and that's what is causing the sump to hit at the rear.
  16. For sure, but then you can take the press to the subframe instead of the other way around, it might save dropping the whole subframe. Of course this would only work if you can get sufficient clearance, never done it so not sure if this is possible.
  17. If RIPS is doing the bottom end, let him be your guide. He has the experience and also if anything goes wrong you both start from a known point. He can make all the lines etc for you if you ask him, and will most likely tap the block for the 12mm head studs before he puts the bottom end together. He will also be able to redrill the correct bell housing holes etc for you. In fact, if he is doing the bottom end I'd get him to provide as much 'plug and play'stuff as you can afford. RIPS can pretty much make anything you need as he has jigs/half cuts etc for a whole bunch of combinations, it's not cheap but his fabrication is A1 and he knows what works. Removes the potential for 'head scratching'. The oil and water lines don't need redrilling but you'll need to account for the 38mm higher deck. Again, RIPS can make the stuff up and knows what you needed. I don't work for him and haven't met him but have some stuff he made for me and I'm happy. Cheers
