  10. they are a great looking car, 4V refers to the design of the head - the intake port has a greater volume than the 2V. not sure anyone makes a 4 valve head for the 351. came standard with a 4bbl, common set up is to use downdraft carbies like moffat had on the mustang and the falcons for a while. looks truly amazing. a friend had one, you could just get a coke can sideways under the rear cradle. de tomaso also made the mangusta, another great looking wedge style. http://www.motorbase.com/profiles/vehicle/...64;p=1126634563

  15. Thanks mate, I reckon the chance of Ed or Trojan having one of these laying about would be pretty slim though if that's what you mean.
  16. guy I know was cruising with a mate who was driving and having a smoke, window down. another car cruises by and someone flashes a brown eye. driver reflex flicks cig in general direction of browneye and scores direct hit into perpetrator's pants. bullseye. browneye instantly disappears from sight, much struggling seen inside car, swearing, noise etc. btw they were in the Adelaide CBD in traffic. not environmentally concious but it was a reflex action...
  17. what actuates the gauge? it's electric, but where does it get its input etc from?
  18. I thought advancing ign increases temp?
  19. ditto
  20. a noise that goes away... the worst kind of situation, especially after something like and engine rebuild. see if you get the oil analysed or something, maybe a leakdown test - might be clutching at straws but what else can you do. if there's a real bad problem hopefully a few dyno runs will reveal it. best of luck.
  21. I agree, cops usually enforce RTA regulations and not ADRs. Ask to speak to the engineers at RTA and they should set you straight about what's what. Keep a level head and they are usually easy to get along with. An infringement for non standard? Was it specific? Just about every car on the road is non standard in one way or another, try to find out the parameters they use to determine this. And WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE TOLD BEING CAREFUL TO NOTE NAMES AND TIMES. Another source is tech help at the NRMA believe it or not, you'd be surprised at what these guys know. Good luck
  22. Does 'not having sufficient ground clearence and excessive noise' mean you need more clearance and more noise? Wrap it around the rough end of a pineapple and send it back to them. Wankers. 'Reported?' What happens now? LOL good point Andrew.
