Guys; I'm after: Recaro seat rails to suit an r32/33, AND an R32/R33 seat base only ie if you have a seat that has completely stuffed trim that's what I'm after as long as the rails are intact. just make sure you can remove the seat back becuase I don't want to pay for postage when it's only the base I need. PM me or SMS 0402 837 117 if you've got anything. Cheers

should have ticked the 'Harpoon' option when you ordered your car.

Yep, good point the Nengun option is always worth considering. I thought the trust pipes had no flex but i've seen photos of something similar, like those posted by Ronin, that has a flex joint. are they copies or have trust changed the design?

Nismo 600cc Injectors
Scooby replied to GTR_Junkie's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I've got some 720cc Sards s/h flow checked etc that I'd swap plus cash. Let me know of you're interested. -
1. no. 2. yes. or drill out the caliper accurately so it takes the larger bolt ie same size as the carrier.

looks like someone bunted the front into a garage wall and left it that way. two fangs and it'd look like one of those ugly bastard sea lions. bits of it are nice though, side on is good and the rear 1/4 windows are classic Skyline. hopefully they'll amaze us with the real one.

red r33 this morning heading up lanyon from the monaro, towards ed's. wave returned

and change the diff ratio while you're at it as the gbox ratios are shorter - in GTR at least.

and a damn good question it is too. i started a thread ages ago on this issue, particularly wanting to know if anyone had comparable back to back dyno results. the answer as far as i could tell was no; not surprising given the stuffing about it would take to do a proper comparison and that people generally do turbos etc at the same time. anyhow, the main dump pipe choice issues i encountered were; most of us seem to agree that non standard dumps are better than stock, particularly if stock is R32 GTR. however there is no dyno evidence to support how much better ie why spend $600 on a 2nd hand set of HKS if they make only 3 or even 5 kw difference. anecdotal evidence ie seat of the pants exists to suggest they're better but i'd like to see figures. most of us agree that long ie 400mm divorced w'gate style pipes are better (also see long post on here quoting Garret engineer on exhaust design and if you're keen get Corky Bell's book Maximum Boost) but again, no back to back dyno evidence. and this is where the $ really tell, because you won't get a set of these suckers for under about $1500. so we're back to square 1 ie yes it's better but how much/is it worth it. custom exhaust specialists in bris do the short style dumps and engine pipes and claim 50hp atw (not 50kw as stated on thier web, Trevor confirmed this yesterday) which is quite a bit. they have been promising for 6 months to do a dyno test on an otherwise stock GTR fitted with the long style comp pipes they also do and hopefully it will happen this weekend. ring and ask, it might be the impetus they need to actually do it. i reckon that those are the issues in a nutshell but in essence the thing that stops me from committing to a particular type is lack of test results. then again i can wait and have a set of R34 GTR dumps handy if i need them. if money is no object and you're in a hurry i'd say go the ces long style. cheers ps if anyone has back to back dyno test results please share.

they have a bleeder, on the driver's side of the head towards the front. prob has a small gold sticker next to it. stuffed thermostat? if it's got a misfire and it's boiling might it be the head gasket?

Acl Product Warning! Rb30/25 Hybrid Buildup
Scooby replied to the_tonkau's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
is there any literature at all that states the boost limit for the ACL piston or unsuitability for turbo apps ? if not, you've got em on that one I reckon. if warnings do exist they'll get you on it everytime, right or wrong, despite what we think the pistons should be able to do. could there be another cause? -
Rb26dett Constantly Running 6th Bearing
Scooby replied to josie082's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
got baffles? assume pick up has been correctly modified? restricted flow to the head/ improved drainage from the head? -
Acl Product Warning! Rb30/25 Hybrid Buildup
Scooby replied to the_tonkau's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Guys; come on, cool it a bit. we're being appraised of an issue that appears is piston related, that can't be bad in terms of sharing knowledge which is what these forums are designed to do. i am certainly interested in the outcome and the findings and i'm sure others are. let's just keep it objective. tonkau; mate i can't post on behalf of SAU because I'm not a mod but would you consider editing your posts to remove any company names? i'd hate to see a 'situation' develop between a car manufacturer, an aftermarket parts supplier and a motorsport shop, particualry since one appears to be an employer. and we particularly don't want to get the SAU site involved in a litigation situation. i think we all acknowledge your frustration and that you're trying to do the right thing by other SAU members. just my 2c guys, let's take a clinical approach to this and we can all win. Kind Regards -
Hi Gun, Do you know the contact details for the guy selling them? can't see a bus name on the site anywhere. Cheers

Hi Matt; Interested in the seats, can you please email pics to [email protected] Thanks

i thought brembos were quite rare in the v8 series, with most using ap or alcon gear. they run a 17 inch rim and fit 375mm discs, which is interesting given that most people seem to go to 18's when they go over about 343mm. i guess all rims are not equal, te37 17's have bags of room with 324mm front Brembos and the template off the ap site suggests they wil take 355s also. 375 is a bit bigger again though... cheers

Braided Or Rubber Brake Hoses
Scooby replied to Duncan's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
exactly. i don't care about %, i care about performance. -
Thanks Ronin that's the best type of info. Kinda brought things to a standstill...

Beware if you have an on the edge tune. My understanding is that ethanol runs hotter so there might be a det problem.

Guys; Got a few questions on engine pipe design ie dump outlet to collector on a GTR. Length My understanding is that engine pipe runner length is not critical. A bit like after the headers on a n/a motor. However some manufacturers make equal length runners (with a big ass bend to create the equal length on the rear pipe) and others do shortest path. Nismo and Fujitsubo do both and the standard ones are shortest path. Others like Veilside go to amazing lenghts to create equal length. The rear pipe outlet radius on the equal length ones, due to the size of the bend, means the inluded angle on the collector seems too large. Diameter CES make good exhausts and they use 75mm or greater engine pipe diam on their comp engine pipes. Most manufacturers use smaller diam into a 75mm collector. CES swear that they get good results from going larger but can't say how much. Anyone done any testing? Flex joints I know what they do but there are designs that either use them or don't. I've not heard of anyone having problems because they didn't use one on a GTR, can anyone share their experiences here? Regards

they're mesmerised by the sight of an intercooler hose clamp screw filling their entire rear view.
