No, Chris is just a wealthy property developer. Mark Rayner is the proprietor of Auger Torque and major sponsor of Nemo Racing. Mark basically bankrolled the whole operation. If it weren't for him, and a few other sponsors, it'd be a rolling shell, like it was 6 months ago.

Should have a rolling race by a way of comparison. That'll sort the GTR out.

Get your hand off it mate. There's a nice example of a 25K km 997 GT3 right here: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-2008/SSE-AD-162999/?Cr=6 With the change, you could even buy wifey a proper family car. With the Porsche, you won't even have to ship it down to Adelaide everytime you have a part failure (common in GTR's) or need an oil change. Willall has got you boys all sewn up. Martin is quite a good salesman. Pity he couldn't even pass his uni degree lol

Buy a Porsche. In Gran Turismo, there was a plethora of R-35 GTR's to chose from, but... unfortunately, there was not an array of Porsches to really delve upon. You were restricted to a few offerings from RUF. Maybe that is clouding your decision? In the real world, Porsches don't break, whereas... GTR's do. Porsches are build to be thrashed - they are built for motorsport. Spend your $180-190K on a low km GT3 or 911 Turbo. Further, think about all the slarts you'll get! There's a lot I would rather spend my 200 large on, and it is surely not something that comes equipped with a Nissan badge as standard.

Sau:sa Track Day #7 - With Passengers!
TOMMI MAKINEN replied to SAU-SA Exec's topic in South Australia
Brushing aside R35's, that would have to be the fastest time for an R32, R33 or R34 GTR ever to lap Mallala since the Gibson Group A days. Nice -
According to the Supp rules and regs, the results will be up on the Mt. Alma website this Friday evening. Jenkies made it into the top 6 but didn't quite qualify for the top 3, so he more than likely finished 4th, 5th or 6th outright. Have to admit, it was an awesome sight watching the Widebody R32 just hook up off the start line and just launch off into the distance! I think he hit the 200m speed trap at 169km/h (only 2-3km/h behind Viagra). My Evo 6 struggled to hit 140 lol Edit: Provisional Results are now on the Mt. Alma Website!

Mt. Alma is the better option out of the two that weekend.

Thanks guys. It's just an Evo 6 GSR (not a TME), so it has all the luxuries. It posted a 1:04.5 in it's first outing at Wakefield Park in June (at Evo Nationals) and it ran a 1:13.5 at Mallala last month at the Autosport MGEC Time Attack.

My crappy old Lancer

^ Whoop-dee-do! What would that cost the average consumer... just to put things into perspective.
-
Are you positively annoyed friend?? I would be too if I found out I can achieve similar results reliably for 20% of the outlay and still drive it on the road. It's not about what car is better (I am quite fond of R-35's) but you can do it just as well for much cheaper. No need to be all high and mighty because I 'only' drive a Lancer, just like Porsche drivers shouldn't look down on you for driving a Datsun, but I can assure you that they do You didn't read what I said - Stock vs stock, R-35's are virtually unbeatable.
-
What's the fastest time this car has run around Mallala on proper R-specs? And was it done with the stock turbos? That depends whether you're talking new or secondhand. R-35's are certainly hard to match straight out of the box against other performance cars (stock vs stock) but once you apply some mods, they are no world beater by any stretch of the imagination around a race track. To give you an example, there's a fully road registered $20K Evo 6 that still maintains it's factory assembled motor, stock turbo (just bolt on breathing mods), stock brakes etc. that just about has the measure of this GT-R around Mallala. Must be dishearterning to almost be spanked by a 13 year old Lancer

I find it hilarious that STI's, being an Evo competitor/rival, was no where to be seen! Cannot discredit an Evo because it is a very well engineered car/chassis and is a tuner's dream... whether it be dirt, snow and tarmac. An Evo even took out the drift comp lol -
I can pretty much guarantee that there is no way in the world that turbo was running anywhere near 30psi. Anything over 25psi on a stock Evo turbo is pointless as you're only creating heat/stress for very little (if none whatsoever) gains. My stock 2.0l engine/turbo Evo 6 makes a reliable 270awkw on 24.5psi with E-flex tuned by SKR. Thus far, it has been good enough for a string of 1:15's around Mallala and 1:04/1.05's around Wakefield Park. There's no chance the car would be making that much power and producing those lap times on 98. E-85 is my best power mod to date and if you haven't already done it, do it!

I wasn't mocking, I was just teasing because I know the crew at Willall are doing it tough through these hard times of consumer spending and economic depression! I much prefer the look of the latest incarnation anyway to be honest. Well, it looked good from the third row of the grid on Sunday at least
-
That's probably a bad choice of words haha!!

Nice work guys. Great to see a few more Nissans out there giving it a crack! The two GT3's were only laying down high 1.18's on semi-slicks last year, so I wouldn't worry too much about them.
