Fs: V35 Aftermarket Parts
siu_loong_bao replied to n15m0's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I can confirm that....the V35 cover needs to be removed. The Stillen strut brace is a quality item...well worth the $250....I paid a fortune to get mine shipped over from Stillen USA direct.... Also, according to the Stillen installation instructions, you may need another air intake tube...go search the Stillen website for more info. To those keen on the strut brace, install with caution!!! The stupid strut nuts are bound to slip under the socket wrench....So be careful....Or fork out $100 to get a nut opener kit (like I did)... I am so tempted with the radiator.......but I know that if I buy it, my Mrs will hang me by my balls... -
Problem At Start Up...
siu_loong_bao replied to Japav's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I didn't have the same symptoms as u did...but my VDC, engine symbol, etc all went on....This happened after my Stillen Exhaust install...and I couldn't figure out why..... The culprit was that I forgot to reconnect the AFM....so I guess the 1st thing is to look for any visible sign of loose wires... -
Test Pipes And Downpipes?
siu_loong_bao replied to sethaiyaar's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Totally agree.... I just wanted to get the message across about decatting... "If you want performance, go buy a turbocharged car"....don't opt to decat.... -
Well.....like last time, put down your name and get a running list happening. This time, let's be more organised, can someone bring some labels? so that we can write our name and member ID... I am terrible with names... Date: Saturday 5th of December Time: 10:00am Place: Blue Water Hand Car Wash, 468 Mt Alexander Road, Ascot Vale Cruise: Travel to St Kilda (via Lygon Street) and cruise down Beach Road to Mordialloc. I'll start the list: 1. MILLOS; Pablo 2. RS73, Rianto 3. siu_loong_bao, Nelson (I may skip the long cruise to Mordialloc) 4. scorp; Sam 5. missV35; Fiona 6. xscape237; Brad 7. pw350GT; Yun 8. japav;........? 9. 10. 11......and so on....

yes...fugly amber... if MILLOS is willing to pay me $15/hr cash in hand, I'll offer to wash cars on the day too...LOL...

Test Pipes And Downpipes?
siu_loong_bao replied to sethaiyaar's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Call me a "greenie", but I am 100% against those who decat their cars as a daily driver...apart from being illegal, there's a reason for the cat converters...just like there's a reason for condoms? If you do it and are a member on this forum, you are an insult to the rest of us car enthusiasts out there... If you want performance, go buy a turbo-charged car... "If you decat and drive, you're a bloody idiot".... ***If professional racing is why you decat, then that's different*** I hope the message sinks into those who are looking to decat.... -
Yup, I am in... MILLOS really wants me to come...cos I'll have his SMD lights that I am ordering for him....LOL...

a pic will be good...to wet the appetites of those keen... -
My 2 cents worth.... 1. The Chinese HID kits are around $120 delivered. Most likely, you'll need the D2R2 bulb (from memory) for the normal headlights, and a H4 Hi/Low beam for the other headlight housing (if you wanted the full conversion done). I personally would not go for any 'expensive' kit....For example, my friend bought a $300 kit 3 years ago (Made in some Euro country) for his BMW and recently had to replace his igniter...At the same time, I have HID'ed 3 cars so far with the Chinese kits and not one has failed me. 2. Go for the slim line HID igniters as there are the next gen HIDs and are based on IC rather than the conventional larger electronic components. Plus, since they are smaller, you can hide/find a better mounting spot. 3. I personally favour 8000k for the 'brightness' as it's white....(But Rianto would disagree with this...LOL) 4. Once you're done, make sure that you 'lower' your lenses as HID tend to blind oncoming traffic, so turn the direction down a bit. 5. Lastly, if yours is a coupe, to get the full white light look, you'll need to also convert the long side light (fogs). Much easier for the sedan as you only need T10 wedge bulbs.

Out Of Puff...2l Turbo Vs 3.5l Na
siu_loong_bao replied to siu_loong_bao's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Rianto... You need a 4 door family car...should have bought the 4 door V35 (aka Maxima)...hehe..like me... -
What a fugly car!!! Concept my backside... Concept cars are supposed to be 'futuristic' - this body looks so 1990s....like the poor man's version of a 1990s supercar that quite ain't a supercar. The current Lexus IS250 looks way more better... Give me a Honda Civic anyday... TOYOTA - if the corporate decision was to scrap every exciting car out of your production stable (GT4, Supra, MR2...), why are you now changing your mind? Stick to your mass production donks....

How Much Grunt
siu_loong_bao replied to Baysidebluebnr34's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
My 2 cents if I were in HK.... 1. Sell the IS200, 2. Buy a Honda Accord - problem solved. If you buy such a 'large' car in HK, you'll struggle with carpark space. I am sure that you know HK carspaces are smaller...Plus, most cars get scratched easily due to people walking in between cars... Also, Hondas retain more value in HK whilst others depreciate like no tomorrow... On another note, in HK, it's highly unlikely that you will hit more than 80kms just becos HK is a busy city! Your car will be crawling around the city most of the time and being stopped by the many traffic lights and jaywalkers...LOL -

My Stillen Exhaust & Sway Bars
siu_loong_bao replied to siu_loong_bao's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Finally found a nut remover tool kit...wasn't cheap and set me back $120.... If you are after one of theses kits, don't bother going to Bunnings or the Auto Shops....You can only get them at the professional tool shops. The nuts came off so easily with this tool....credits to the inventor!!!! It's such a simple design...might take a pic of it to show u guys wat the fuss is all about... So today, it will be off to buy some replacement nuts, and put in my Stillen strut brace!!!! -

This Cant Be Normal Can It?!
siu_loong_bao replied to sethaiyaar's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
mines the 2002 model and also cracked inside....at one stage when it was very cold in Melb, it used to squeek on start-up, but as it heated up, the noise would go away (less than 10 secs)... i guess i better change mine soon.....i think it's definitely the age of the belts in most cases that would lead to cracks....besides, our VQ engines are very hot...so that would add to the equation somehow.... my v35 has only done 49,000kms.... -

So happy to see other V35 owners having similar probs..and for a minute, i thought it was my CVT-8 gearbox or or just becos I had a sedan...hehe I had a 2.6L twin turbo S4 Audi a few years back, and that absolutely went like a bad case of diarhorea...QUICK! So, my expectations for luxury cruisers are at a certain level.... Anyway....time for a Skoda anyone???? LOL.... -
Hi All, Was driving home from work last Thurs nite, down the usual freeway, then collector road to home and found myself being tailed by a SKODA... I thought, what the hell....A WAGON!!???!! So I let him pass, and he virtually flew past me onto the Deer Park Bypass... Now..this is where it gets interesting, I normally drive responsibly with some excitement, so I kicked up the heat and did the same past the SKODA Octavia wagon...(Disclaimer - No SPEEDING INVOLVED ) We both exited to Caroline Springs Off-ramp and we were at each other for a good 5km thereafter, taking apexes at roundabouts, etc....with the usual "Him lead", then "Me lead".... 1. I was gobsmacked that he could catch up with acceleration (when I was leading)... 2. I was gobsmacked x 2 that I ran out of puff and could not overtake him (when he was leading)... 3. I was surprised with his stable cornering at the roundabouts... Now, not knowing much about SKODAs, I thought this OCTAVIA RS was at least a 2.5L Turbo or a Straight 6 from an Audi powerplant or something thereabouts...So I checked up the specs...and was gobsmacked for the 3rd time....He has VW GTI running gear!!!! 147KW stock...WTF???? I feel so ashamed, head between my legs.... Skoda Octavia RS Wagon Specs: http://www.discountnewcars.com.au/skoda/sk...t-skod09do.aspx
