Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
GRANDMA replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey guys just need some quick advice.. (There is a lot of pages.. ) Just entered my R33 in a track day coming, and it's not going to be my daily for too much longer, so I am in the process of deciding tyres to run etc as it will basically turn into a weekend trash car so obviously performance is all I'm concerned over really.. Just trying to get a rough idea on opinions between the following: Federal 595 RSR Kuhmo KU36 Toyo R1R I can get the 595's through a mate at work at a good price so I was considering them, but have never tried any tyre. As i said not too fussed on wet weather etc. as we are going into warmer weather! Cheers guys! -

well should we? considering all the cars being stolen lately..

Hey guys please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place, but has anyone had a White R34 GTT Coupe stolen recently? I am in the hills and just outside Stirling toward Aldgate has been a front-end smashed R34 and it has literally been abandoned on the side of the road (which is basically a main road for the hills) - First time i saw it would have been on thursday afternoon probably, if not friday. Then the next night the rear wheels were stolen (black aftermarket - Probably 18's), and the driver window had been smashed in and car was gone through. I tried asking everyone i know but no luck - Then it had been left in the rain to rot basically, I tried calling police but not much luck. Finally, last night I drove past and it was burnt to a crisp and bonnets were up, shit was ALL gone. It's really hard to see this since we all prize our cars so much.. Anyone know the owner? plates are XPY-017

Hey there, Have 2 Brand new Federal 595's for sale Along with a Brand new VELO GP90XL http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/401148-fs-brand-new-velo-gp90xl-brand-new-595-federals/

Hey there, For sale is a BRAND NEW Velo GP90XL I planned on putting it in my car for track days, but I just can't see it happening anytime soon so would rather clear space. Paid $700, sat in it maybe 5 times and test bolted it all up, feels amazing by far the most comfortable bucket seat. Also, don't be afraid with it being an XL - The standard is too bloody small and even my other smaller mates agree the XL is a better size. - Comes with all mounting bolts too. After $650 ONO Also have two BRAND NEW Federal 595's in 215 45 17. Incorrect purchase, my loss is your gain. Paid $300, sell for $240 OBO Will work out postage AUS-WIDE and pick up is fine in Adelaide. Cheers.

Tips On Handling For A R33 Gtst?
GRANDMA replied to GRANDMA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ahh MLR that is very interesting.. I will give them a buzz very soon. But yes, I am just under the impression that 27mm is just going to be TOO stiff and cause ridiculous understeer. I am not doing this so much for drifting, more or less want to set-up a well balanced quick car for the hills. Thanks for all the response guys! -
Anyone had any luck removing the HICAS light after the install? What is the procedure?? Cheers!

Tips On Handling For A R33 Gtst?
GRANDMA replied to GRANDMA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ok, rear Whiteline swaybar is on its way along with a camber kit, adjustable too in 24mm. When i install the rear sway kit ill rip the HICAS shit out and go for a slide! I am struggling to find a whiteline 24mm front adjustable, i found a 27mm but i don't want to go too thick for understeer obviously.. options? Cheers guys! -
Tips On Handling For A R33 Gtst?
GRANDMA replied to GRANDMA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Awesome, thankyou so much guys i really appreciate it. I am going to do the HICAS very soon then, i'm not to keen on having the HICAS light flashing at me though, is there a certain fuse to pull to cut out JUST that warning light or..? And i believe sway bars F&R will be on order VERY soon, cheers! -
Tips On Handling For A R33 Gtst?
GRANDMA posted a topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey guys, I'm new to this place so i hope i don't sound like a huge punter! I have a R33 series 2 which currently has garage impul shocks and springs which are pretty average/worn out and not too much handling options other than that. I have just purchased and installed a front Cusco strut brace to improve front rigidity. I am looking into a new set of coil overs, whiteline adjustable sway bars front and rear, and a complete bush kit for the suspension, (is there any place that makes a specialised bushes kit for a r33 GTST?) So is there anything else i should be looking into other than sway bars, coils and bushes? And yes i do have some good tyres coming along also as i know how critical they are. Thanks guys! -
I've got the day off, so ill be out there checking it all out No driving unfortunately, nor me or the 33GTST is up for track... yet
