Did this three weeks ago, always wanted to do it since I knew how to drive as I drove from Sydney to Brisbane quite alot. While doing some work here in Perth a friend of mine said you wont mind doing a road trip from Melbourne back to Perth and I was like sure why not.
So we flew down to Melbourne picked up the car, and went to pick up another friend who was visiting Dandenong at the time. Anyways we stayed over at Adelaide the same day, tell ya Adelaide is quite different, the night life begins after 11pm. Anyways stopped at Ceduna was pretty nice area and noticed that theres an Oyster festival towards the end of September. Didnt really stop to do much sight seeing on the way back as it was already Easter Monday Holiday, damn work.
Got to the Great Australian Bight but pitch black and damn windy at night, so buggered that off really quickly.
Got to Boarder Village filled up only $2.17 a litre , also custom was really friendly and have to make sure you dont have honey. He did ask "where you thinking of getting to" we're like "umm Perth" he's like "yeah good luck the skippy's are bad around this time of night"
Anyways, we stopped overnight at Eucla as friends we're like it was raining roos everywhere.
Enjoyed the trip, always good with a group of friends I guess rather than by yourself. Would love to do it again, dont even think i would mind it solo but stretched over more days.
I would definately recommended to those who love to drive
