got more info on the turbo? is it genuine garrett? housing sizes?

Black smoke is unburned fuel. Oil burns blue if it gets burned by the engine, white smoke out the exhaust under boost would most likely be a blown seal in the turbo dumping oil straight in the exhaust

Yeah I am thinking head to manifold, seems to be coming from the engine bay. If it is from there will do it after tax, will be sending my turbo to you for a high flow job. Got a fair bit of shaft play

Hey guys so I am trying to track down an exhaust leak on my 33 gtst. The turbo to dump was originally leaking so i put a genuine nissan gasket on with exhaust cement and it has stopped the leak there (sprayed soapy water around the flanges) but i can still hear an exhaust leak, really noticable especially when coming up to any sort of boost. Got my mate to cover my muffler and sprayed soapy water and found it bubbled up a shitload around where the wastegate actuator rod goes into the exhaust housing of the turbo. I am just wondering if this is normal (I imagine there would be some clearance between the bush and rod) or if this would be the cause of my leak. Cheers Dave

Just thought id update, got my splitfire coilpacks today, fitted em, misfire gone. I now am of the opinion that Yellow Jackets are cheap for a reason (they are shit). A guy at Just Jap told me the other week that they got their JJR Coil Packs from the same factory and they ended up binning them rather than selling em cause they had so many fail.

As in the one with the weak spring or just coilpacks in general? Is there any way of testing them before dropped $650 for splitfires?

Is the BOV vent to atmo or plumb back? Does it bolt to where the factory one does?

I have a similar issue to this, don't want to start a new thread about it though. I bought my Skyline about a month and a half ago, drove like a dream. It had yellow jackets, FMIC, pod, cat back exhaust (punched cat). I put a JJR 3" bellmouth dump on it and a turbosmart boost tee. Drove nice on 11psi, then a few weeks ago i started it up and it was missing at 4500+ rpm. So far I have replaced plugs, gapped to .8mm, running actuator pressure boost and cleaned the AFM. Still misfires, seems to happen more in 2nd and 3rd gear. It also has a leaking turbo-dump gasket, thinking the dump flange isn't straight as I put a genuine Nissan one on it Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Running boost off the actuator pressure it still hits about 9psi, and I have checked the coil packs already, although one had a spring that had less tension than others.

Hi Toshi, I recently bought an r33 gtst, mild mods, fmic, turbo back exhaust, CAI, boost. Just after your opinion of whether a remap or an emanage blue would be better for my application. Also, i am currently getting around 330km from 55 litres of fuel, would your flash tune decrease fuel consumption by much? Final question, does your remap eliminate the Rich and Retard feature of the standard ECU? Very keen for this tune once i sort my misfire issue out. Thanks, Dave
