I've never had an issue with any Intel system I have built and the 3 AMD systems I built were the most unstable pieces of crap I have ever used. But that was just before AMD lost a lot of market share so they may be a lot better now.
I'd say its still doable with Intel, but it will become obsolete sooner. I have a pathological hatred for AMD after some very bad experiences with them.
It's like saying 'this skyline has a garret turbo' in an ad, what garret turbo? The 1150 boards range in price from sub $50 to $400-$500 with vast differences in features.
I did Ants, there are about 15 ASUS 1150 socket boards so which one is it?
EDIT: Just checked ASUS' webpage, they have 28 Socket 1150 boards available.
This is true but I have found $2000 to be a good amount to spend for some gaming grunt that will last 2-3 years and play all now games. My last $1000 computer struggled after 12-18 months to play new games on max settings.
I was just playing round with some clocks when I first got it. I got it nice and stable at 4.8 so it lives there now with smart boost kicking it up when needed.
