Event: SAU Sprints at Queensland Raceway Description: This is our first sprint day for the year and a great chance to see how fast your car actually is. This is a full track day. Practice laps from 8:30 am through 11:30 am will be able to be purchased from QR on the day, however this session will be on the national circuit NOT the sprint track. At 12:00, we will be briefed and then onto the track for our laps. Location: Queensland Raceway Date: Saturday the 6th of June 2014 Time: Be there by 11:30 for a 12:00 drivers briefing Cost: $100 for members $145 for non-members You will need a timing chip which can be either bought from QR or rented for the day. They cost $80 to purchase and can be used at any timed event held by QR. You can rent them for $20 for the day with a $60 deposit which will be returned to you at the end of the day. You will also need to hold or purchase a racing licence from QR. From today until the 6th of May we will be releasing the event to members only on a first in best dressed basis, after this date we will open the remaining spots to anyone. If you reserve a spot but haven't paid and submitted your entry form by the 16th of May your spot is fair game. So if you want to guarantee a spot get in quick. If all spots are taken we will start a reserve list of people to take anyone's place if they have to pull out for any reason. Requirements: Completed Entry Form and Money paid by due date. Helmet Timing Chip ABS & SRS systems may be disconnected at the driver's option Drivers must wear non-flammable clothing that fully covers the body from ankle to wrist to neck If vehicle is road registered or road registerable must meet the roadworthy requirements of Qld Transport If vehicle is not road registerable it must meet the applicable Racing Car standards below Fire extinguishers, when fitted, must meet AS1841 standard and be secured to ensure they cannot injure the driver in the event of an accident. Tyres must be fit for purpose, not recut or retreaded, and be fitted to rim widths that comply with the Tyre and Rim Association manual and/or ADR requirements Rear facing red lights for use during rain must be fitted. Event: Happy Laps - Queensland Raceway Description: A chance to get out on track for a fun cruise and have some om nom noms! Bit of spirited driving is allowed but it is still an event on a race track so a few rules need to be followed (see below). Also if you have not done QR before this is your ticket in to Lakeside. Location: Queensland Raceway MAP HERE. Date: Sunday the 12th of April. Time: 7:00 AM Arrival Cost: Slight change in the payment form these happy laps onwards: $35 for members and guests of members who pre pay by direct deposit $40 for members who pay on the day $50 for non members Please note that this is a per person cost, any passengers etc are required to pay as well. Requirements: 1. QR have a minimum age of 12 for passengers. 2. No overtaking in the first 2 laps. 3. The overtaking car is responsible for completing the overtaking move safely. 4. Overtaking is only permitted on straights, unless clearly waved passed by the car in front. 5. Overtaking move must be completed well before the end of the straight, and the car being overtaken must be given plenty of room. 6. Cars should not be more than 2 abreast at any point on the track. 7. Be aware of cars around you, in front and behind (and beside when being overtaken). 8. Do not assume that the car in front of you knows you are there. QR RULES 10. There is to be no racing 11. The straights are speed limited to 120km/h 12. Any car that goes off the track will be pulled off 13. There is not to be more than 1 sec of tyre smoke. 14. There are to be no helmets 15.
