  1. Ok so your Dad wins the "My dad is cooler than your dad" game Ben (just don't tell my dad I said that).
  2. As always, so many SAU people to thank for keeping the D man pretending to be a race car driver Brad and Jay get big kudos this time. Have I mentioned though how crap this racing caper is?
  3. I’d still be having a quiet word about that footage not seeing the light of day, deal or no deal …and yes, I am a little naïve sometimes, still believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and a world where producers don’t select content for sensationalism I know we sign away everything when we run cameras in the car, but as Ben has said some things should stay in the car. That incident, and the discussions which have followed, to do not make anyone involved look good IMHO.
  4. It's easy to see why many were caught out (or almost caught out) by that particular chicane. I think drivers are perhaps just too used to them being placed in the middle of long, fast straights with good visability. Regardless, the signs were there, and people's notes should have reflected the crest and short distance to chicane after it? I am pretty sure it was cautioned in our notes (from memory, any with limited visibility were) - that said I think we went into it a little quicker than I think Steve would have liked.
  5. I thought it was interesting that Rod actually let that footage leave the car in the first place. Don't know what he was thinking but I do know he's copping a caning across the interweb for it now though! While the 'are you ok?' question is the first thing that should be asked, people sometimes say and do innappropriate things when in shock. I'd be pissed off if the first thing I heard after a crash like that was blame, but then I'd like to think I could be level headed enough to let it go and have a proper conversation about it (or a punch up ) when things had settled.
  6. Sounds like the guys had a bit of bad luck, including being hit from behind, losing a wheel and then doing a clutch I think they actually made it back onto the track for the last lap so were still classified as finishers (not confirmed - my german translation skills are not so good!). Quinn is on fire though!
  7. alright who let Pete into this thread reckon you should do it Pete (the rookie bit, not the wrap the car round the tree bit) though you would need to find some SERIOUSLY insane to navigate for you.
  8. I think there is a pic of it on its lid floating around somewhere on Facespace I usually avoid the carnage pics (unless they're my own!) - never nice to dwell too much on someone elses misfortune.
  9. Sarah and Joel always take awesome pics- I picked up some Tarmac Challenge shots from Joel and they were well worth the money. Not sure what that face I'm pulling in that last pic of #803 is about though
  10. Maybe you should consider a sideline business in fence repairs Ben Love how you're straight back on it (actually not sure you actually got off it) - that's commitment!
  11. haha touché now less talk, and more getting ready for Buller I say
  12. Test drive booked for the weekend... will let everyone know how the girly-man car goes
  13. My 370z test drive is booked for this weekend. Can't say I've driven a 35 in anger, but I have driven one (or two even!), so looking forward to seeing the differences.
  14. sorry Stu nothing personal- I can't help it that it's been the car of choice for ever hairdresser I've ever had I'm liking that car as a chalkboard idea....
  15. Will it have a real paint job by then Stu so it looks like a racecar instead of a hairdresser's car
  16. you piss heads- lucky you have a sober person like me to fill in the entry forms
  17. actually just double checked the dates and realised i have a family wedding missing it probably wouldn't go down too well since I've been absent from a few family things recently thanks to rallies! any navs interested in running PM me for details - deal looks like you'd need to cover own travel and accommodation expenses. as said before i don't think this person has entered (hoping to sneak in late) so trying to get sorted in next day or so.
  18. you're not running Benny? I *might* see you there... got a call this morning from someone who is thinking about entering. (i thought they'd already closed but i guess there's always room for a few more!) only problem is that my recent adventures have left me a bit light on annual leave!
  19. +1 more (luckily!)
  20. Do I spot some hand holding at the end of Sheffield stage ladies? Intercom excuse aside, I can see why you caught us- that was some awesome driving
  21. I will forever claim it's because we lost our intercom.... and not that Steve was wearing a skirt that day Snowman's sqwawks have me forever afraid to post any incar
  22. Hey Ben - any in-car of the stage you caught us (can't remember which one it was sadly but it was Day 1 before lunch?) Just listening to your maniacal laughing after you caught the GT3 on Elephant Pass. Would be interesting to hear you when you pass us
  23. gees he makes you call quick Tim!
  24. and sadly a genuine N1 from what I was told? we were one of the first cars to come through just after it happened - I was holding my breath as we first saw just the bumper, followed by lots of debris as we went further along, then finally (and thankfully) someone running down the road towards us holding the ok sign.
