  1. btw for any navis lurking on this thread (who aren't facebook friendly). Mozza has passed this on to the Rallying Nav's & Co-Drivers of Australia group on facespace... Peter Leimuss requires a Nav/co driver for the lefthand seat of his R35 GTR SKyline, please conact Helen Coad at the TARGA TAS office to book your seat, EXPERIENCE IS VERY NECESSARY,Vandenberg pace notes, and weight is an advantage (or lack of!) !!!!! Flights, accom etc provided Having done 2 rallies with Pete I can definitely vouch for his driving
  2. Yep - the 24th it is, looks like we'll be sailing mates I think we're also booked back on the Monday with most of the other Targa traffic- always a fun trip with lots of beer and bullshit!
  3. Not sure- last year we did a day of some of the newer stages. Steve could probably drive 3/4 of the stages blindfold anyway!
  4. Oops- there goes your tough guy image D
  5. Well, it looks like a late arrival in Tas for me- we're booked on the Friday night boat.
  6. Awesome driving Ben - the car looks really well set up.
  7. True - I guess though I'm just interested in giving it all a go to learn a bit more. Plus I'm wondering if being able to call confidently from roadbook with a little bit of pace could save me if something ever happened to my notes during an event.
  8. Well, you'll all be pleased to know there are no gravel roadbook rallies in my near future afterall I've had to pull out of the rally at Jenolan caves due to work commitments. Still keen to try some gravel though.
  9. Now that sucks - those first chips are always the worst but would be especially tough to cop if they are from someone being a d*ck. Sounds like you still had a good day out though.
  10. haha- D did drop a classic Jim Richards, arsehole reference into his podium speech! and yes it got good chuckles. best. day. ever. times eleventy and then some
  11. nope- its meant to be a stocker
  12. Haha we were wondering who that was beeping like crazy at us! Sorry for not waving back. We were on our way home from State Champs at Eastern Creek via UAS. John is a champ for staying open so we could pick up some stuff to fix a little overheating issue.
  13. it's not me- it's my driver (aka the elephant man) that would be responsible for that. i'm sure everyone's going to be watching to see how Steve gets his helmet over those ears.
  14. Not sure if there are plans for someone to run the DK32 but I think it could still there by accident. It was meant to come back up after Wrestpoint but a certain r35 involved in an off-road adenture was put on the trailer instead.
  15. Entry numbers look pretty strong Stuart - good to see So when are all the non-Tassie competitors planning to arrive in Tassie? I was speaking to someone the other day who was talking about getting down there mid April so they could get in 2 full weeks of reccy
  16. another vote for Team Vodafone then everyone else to finish ahead of (p)Rick Kelly
  17. Emailed last night with the usual smart arse comments Benny
  18. I was hoping to have a drive at some stage. Looks like I'll only get a run in the left hand seat for now anyway. Hopefully it will be back as Ben says.
  19. Hey Ben that's my monthly essential motorsport reading you're dissin there! OK so I only bought it because someone mentioned there were Tarmac Challenge pics Will scan and email so you can decide if it's worth your $8.95 You guys probably got the best coverage though?
  20. No chance- the D man gets to decide whether that pic of him and Bana's car gets to see the light of day
  21. Received the following email from Mountain Motorsports today... Due to the current global financial situation, Mountain Motorsports have decided to call it quits after this year’s Mt Buller Sprint. It has been a tough time for a lot of us and the cancellation of 2 events this year hasn’t made it any easier. Don’t miss the opportunity to be involved with the final running of the infamous Mt Buller Sprint which will be run on the first weekend in December (4th-6th). We have attached your Expression of Interest Form and as entry numbers have been limited, we ask you to return it ASAP to ensure you won’t miss out on any of the action. It will be the final Tarmac Event of the year and we guarantee the ‘afterparty’ will be one to be remembered for years to come. On a serious note, we extend our most sincere sympathies to all the families and communities involved with the recent bushfires, and ask that you read the attached letter from Chaplaincy Australia, who have been great supporters of our events. A big ‘Thank-You’ goes to Mark Bateman and his team for the incredible difference they are making to the families directly affected. Please support him generously. We look forward to seeing you on the mountain in December! BUGGER! Looks like this year's will be my first and last Buller. Sad to hear MM is doing it tough, and very sad to see the event disappear from the calendar. 2009_MBS_ExpressionofInterest.pdf Chaplaincy_Australia.doc
  22. The poor old Raceworxs cars were parked in the same holding yard up near Devonport at the end of Targa that year. Banas car was definitely as messy as it looked in that pic and then some. But then he was in good company.... this is how Mark Hawkin's finished up
  23. haha- I reckon there will be lots of female drivers and navs ready to set Mr Bana straight if he makes it to another Targa!
  24. Will my non-car loving, non-racing man friends like it too? Actually Eric Banana lost a few female fans with his comments like this one: Bana said women were the "target audience". "It's the partners, friends and so forth that I'm trying to reach out to with this film," Bana said. He's also been quoted saying things to the effect of the movie being good for showing the wives and girlfriends what racing is all about. I guess all the chicks in racesuits standing around in the carparks at Targa were there giving moral support to all the men driving & navigating I don't mind the sentiment, just the implication that men are the only ones who race. And I'll still go and watch & probably like the movie
  25. Hey Benny & Russ, can you autograph my copy of the latest Auto Salon mag? Pretty good coverage of you boys and the car at Tarmac Challenge - shame they were 4 months late with it!
