  1. Looks like someone was drinking last night I am trying to get out there this arvo if I get through some work stuff Good luck everyone - no excuses now Neily!
  2. as if D would appreciate- we're married, we don't do that kinda thing these days you know suits get too stinky for my liking after 6 days of wear- even when you change your fireproof undies every day and turn the suit inside out at night. and yes- i am being a girl with that comment.
  3. I've been looking to pick up a cheapie second suit for Targa Ebay search = massive fail! Ebay Race Suit Search Result I know AASA is pretty reasonable when it comes to scruitineering, but I don't see them passing this suit somehow
  4. Wouldn't mind chatting to you in the next few weeks if you can spare some time Ben? Not much (if any) tarmac in this event, but I'm keen to understand why you'll never do another a roadbook on tarmac so I know what to watch out for?
  5. NSW clubby based stuff AMSAG And I'm not sure about roadbook either, but would like to give it a go and see.
  6. You sound just like Neil Benny (hope he's not reading this thread). Actually, I hear what you're saying and listen to & appreciate the advice. I've done a bit of asking about and AMSAG seem to run pretty sensible events. And the only reason I'm up for this one is it sounds like this guy is definitely not into playing for sheep stations (and he meets my criteria of only naving for blokes who have kids & actually like them). He's had experience, no crashes. I figure I'll give it a go and see how it goes - I'll always try something once, twice if I like it
  7. Looks like I might be doing the AMSAG event on 4th April in a (GASP!!!) non-Skyline. Running with a rookie- will post more details if I get sorted. It's roadbook, not pacenotes, but I'm still keen for a bit more in-car experience (and events).
  8. Now I definitely need a new pic!
  9. Without giving the end away... Has anyone who has seen it spotted two mangled yellow and purple r32's next to Bana's wreck in the post crash holding yard in Tassie? Our claim to fame that year sadly was ending up his crashed neighbour, and apparently there was meant to be some filming in that yard?
  10. And back on topic... it looks like Steve is getting plenty organised. http://www.toyo.com.au/2009%20Targa%20Tasmania.htm I better get to work and do something useful to earn my keep!
  11. Slightly off topic since our 32 isn't doing Targa this year, but we also got corner weighting sorted this past weekend. The car is still Targa spec - just no nav included this time. Hopefully still an interesting comparison though. So at the risk of us and the car sounding overweight we're now set with: FL 433kg FR 471kg RL 307kg RR 346kg Diagonal cross weights of 779.5kg vs 780.5kg. Will be interesting to see the difference when Duncan runs the car at the first round of the state champs (Eastern Creek) in 2 weeks.
  12. Not good to hear Greg - hope you can work on that never say never bit!
  13. I've been switching between 1-6 and 1-10 for the last few events and I haven't decided what I prefer yet. I know some drivers actually driver quicker with the 1-6 becuase there's less info to process, and more marked differences in the corners?
  14. am i still allowed to be pit bitch when i'm around?
  15. I said yes to the Just Jap seat straight after Targa last year before any of the rides in the 35s materialised. Timing & subsequent luck aside I would have made the same choice I reckon- it's a good, fun, incredibly well prepared car and the new category is a bonus Looking forward to Targa already- Steve and the team are bloody good value. Just not quite sure how I will work out if we are on track with the touring stages this year- in other cars you always knew you were going the right way when you passed millions of kids in their Just Jap caps. Kinda like a dog marking its territory in that respect Looking forward to a beer with you at the finish this year Ben!
  16. So I kick off. Me and my blue steel profile pic are entry 803 in the Early Modern Competition. GO CAR 803! Navigating for Steve from Just Jap in the old school 32. Guessing prep is well under control - no last minute Raceworx fix its or stick its required this year
  17. Sorry Benny, no disrespect to your Who's Doing What thread, but I reckon *The Ultimate Tarmac Rally* deserves its own special thread with only 54 days to go! So here is a spot to keep track of who is running/helping someone to run/helping the event run/helping by watching the event etc etc etc And probably a spot for organising Tassie catch ups and piss ups... not to mention the resulting war stories.
  18. picsorban Neily is the only way to claim top raceworx injury status
  19. You should see how the car bit ended up As I've said before, I should stick to somewhere safe, like the nav seat. My worst injury from my down-the-bank adventure at Wrestpoint Targa was the bramble scratches I got climbing 12 foot back up the bank to the road!
  20. Happy Birthday Chubbs
  21. Now you know it was only a matter of time before I found this thread right I'm voting for a "Love The Beast" night at the drive-in near Eastern Creek? It has a chance of being good cos there's a chance of seeing our broken 32s in the background... without giving away the ending we ended up parked in a holding yard next to Mr Bana's beast
  22. I would except the boys might just mention my *slight* accident prone-ness if I did
  23. A new installment.... What happens when a big car bit and a not so big knee meet - hope that dodgy raceworx outfit has weekend workers comp Definitely one that tickled.
  24. Kel

    Oops

There really wasn't that much damage to see - the front bar was barely marked, just hanging a bit loose. There was some panel damage to the front quarter panel from memory from hitting something solid on the slide down the bank, but again nothing too look at. By all accounts Pete has almost got the car back to brand new and definitely ready for Targa in a few weeks.
  25. No good carnage photos from me afterall - camera phones have a long way to go for quality. Here's a pic of 2 boats though
