  15. FROM SMH.COM.AU TODAY..... Senna junior wants to follow his uncle November 20, 2008 - 12:33PM Bruno Senna, the nephew of former triple world champion Ayrton, hopes he's done enough to win a seat with Honda in 2009 after his first full day of Formula One testing. Senna was eighth fastest at Barcelona, almost 2.5secs off the pace set by Red Bull's Sebastien Vettel, with fellow Honda driver Jenson Button fifth fastest. "Whether what I did today is good enough is for the team to decide now and I respect that," said 25-year-old Senna, who is hoping to supplant Rubens Barrichello from the team next season. "But for me personally, for my first time in a Formula One car, I have to be happy with what I achieved today. "It's been a really good day and I'm very pleased. I've become a lot more comfortable and confident in the car and I think that showed in the lap time, both in the actual time and also the consistency. "We found some good set-ups and we were able to make a lot of progress through the day. "Driving a Formula One car is a very special feeling and it is very easy to know why it is the pinnacle of motorsport. It's very different to anything else you can drive and I just wanted to go faster and faster. "Aside from the hard work and focus here this week I have really enjoyed myself. The Honda team are very professional and I am proud to have spent the time with them during this very special week for me." Barrichello, who holds the record for most races (271), is understood to be under pressure to hold his place at Honda and is also facing competition from another fellow Brazilian Lucas Di Grassi. Ayrton Senna, who was world champion in 1988, 1990 and 1992, was killed at Imola in 1994.
  16. needs pics to count i reckon
  17. your problem is you werent drunk enough Richard
  18. OUCH! You get top of the leaderboard with that effort!
  19. Promise I'm not laughing Chris.... .... ok I am i was sober as unfortunately- my best non drunk/drunk stack ever (certain poker machine incidents included) probably would have come off much better had there been alcohol involved to soften the body more for the fall!
  20. YOUCH! I'm guessing there was some hip pocket hurt involved too At least you were ok
  21. (cough) don't you mean Kel paints it every year or 2
  22. A lame kick off, but a kick off nonetheless. Forget this crazy spectator caper- next time I attend a rally i'm going to be sticking somewhere safe, like the nav seat! The first ditch is the hole I think I tripped in on my way to a specatator point at the Coffs Coast rally. The second is the dent I made on landing The result: - One fractured elbow - One broken camera - Many bruised bits - One VERY bruised ego Funnily enough I went 2 days without realising the damage that had been done, putting a new perspective on the 6-hour drive back home- no wonder changing gears hurt so bloody much! So any advances on a fracture?
  23. Cheers Russ - will make sure i get in touch over the weekend.
  24. Thanks Ben - shame you won't be there (though I am not sure my liver could take another catch up with the full QLD crew!)
  25. As some of you may know, I am sometimes studying/ trying to get into journalism on the side. I'm heading to Coffs this weekend to try and get something together on grassroots rallying. Nothing may come of the story I hopefully write, but I'd be keen to catch up with anyone here who is running/ knows someone running. Please post/ PM details - I am leaving Sydney Friday arvo. Cheers Kel
