  1. I'm too hungover to type as well as Ben - these QLD boys sure now how to drink! Brilliant to meet everyone and awesome effort by Russ and Ben- I don't think there are many people who can claim a top 10 finish in their first tarmac rally outing (let alone one where you are on road tyres!). Wogboy- sorry I didn't get to catch you at the finish and thanks again for the kind offer of the hoist (which thankfully wasn't needed).
  2. Jet32T at the puppy food place on parra rd, haberfield today
  3. you are STILL a crazy man Mark but im always up for a road trip
  4. Definitely my next investment (well that and a compatible helmet). I'm investigating getting more into the nav side of things with rally and it sounds like a must.
  5. does this mean the beers are on you at the next drinks Richard?
  6. does this make him an even grumpier old man? happy bday Neily
  7. Gimme some spray paint- i reckon i can paint any wheels white
  8. heh heh did anyone pick that someone was quite Drunkan when posting last night
  9. ummmm anyone planning to go out specifically to see Duncan race shouldn't i'll let him post details later but we're out for the weekend looks like Dave also had some problems in qualifying- hope it all got sorted so there's at least one Skyline still running this weekend.
  10. have you shared how you worked out the oil temp gauge problem mad scientist?
  11. haha- how good is the Vic Roads Rep ....just bear with me from one moment sir.....
  12. Tell me about it- I think I copped my first ever speeding fine last week!
  13. so how bad are these targa withdrawl symptoms! am i the only one looking at the wrong side of the road thinking it's normal to be driving there?!!
  14. Go Pete! Will be watching these guys with interest- Pete certainly knows how to steer and is a bloody nice guy on top of all of that. Deserves to get a good result because he has the right approach to racing. He defintely had the mindset of an enduro driver so expect these guys to do well.
  15. Sorry- it was a chopper parked on the side of the road at Reece (if my memory of teh stages is still working). It was the LHS of the road, about half way through I think? I was like WTF- that's a bloody funny looking car Way too many offs on that stage, and it was hard to tell what some of those cars started off as- I saw what I think was a very messed up diesel mazda, the pug and the porker. We were literally the last car in before the sweep so saw all of the carnage.
  16. Loving that chopper on Queenstown! Did anyone see the one parked on the side of the road at Reece Dam (???)- I never normally look up enough to see anything during a TS but it was hard to miss! It was big for me to notice- Pete had to tell me about the fact we nearly went through a fence (apparently) @ Beaconsfield!
  17. So how slow does 110 on the freeway feel after 6 days of Targa! Sorry not to have caught up with everyone- I had forgotten how busy things get down there. Still good to see and chat to a few of you guys though. Special thanks to Ben & Tim for pointing us in the right direction of the fuel related fuses when we were stuck inside time control at Bastyn Dam. Bloody r32 fuel pumps! Anyways, I stupidly flew back into work on Monday morning after a night at the Just Jap bar Needless to say I’m still suffering but it was definitely worth it. I have to say that 08 was seriously the best organised event I’ve ever attended- hats off to Mark, Stuart and the team for a brilliant effort- not a thing could be faulted. Peter L knows how to steer a Skyline, and Just Jap certainly know how to prepare one- I’ve sat in a few 32s over the years and the DK car is the best by far (we passed 2 cars on Arrowsmith!) Already can’t wait until next year! a quick pic of the just jap bar
  18. D=No ... tuning the car tomorrow night Kel = maybe
  19. I personally was glad the day the warranty ran out on the Zed- it meant I could get the car serviced by someone who actually cared about making the car run well. There are plenty of *grey importers* who get our business over a Nissan dealership any day -Nathan @ Mt White Automotive, Powerplay and Unique (to name just a few) absolutely have the skills, knowledge and resources Nissan has spent years NOT investing in. But hey, those Pulsars do make them lots of money I spose
  20. awww shucks! all is revealed here.... http://www.targa.com.au/Competitors/Entrie...0Leemhuise.html Dodgy profile pic of me aside, I'm nav for the Donut King R32 with Peter.
  21. This statement alone would be enough reason for me to NOT buy a GT-R from Nissan! I'm sure Duncan has already gone off on this rant but Nissan has NO idea how to sell or service a sports car these days. The salesman had to make 2 phone calls, and consult a product folder at least 10 times when I was sold the Zed. Even then most of the information was wrong, or at best vague. Don't even get me started on the fun I've had with servicing- gems include being told that extremely high oil consumption is "normal" for a sports car. In my very humble opinion- Nissan don't deserve the right to sell the G-TR in Australia.
  22. Sounding like a plan I sat in the car this morning to check I fit etc and now I'm officially excited. Only 11 days before we leave for the boat!
  23. No go for me- I'll be Targa-bound that day. D might be in need of some friends that night though
  24. Sorry- crazy at work at the moment! Yep, I am in - confirmed in car 808
