  1. Am I the only one chuckling at how long it took Holden fans to come up with response on this
  2. Sorry Paul- would love to get involved but we're already booked to do some stuff with The Smith Family on Sunday. Hope it goes well.
  3. Tricky Ricky copped the drive through for the incident which obviously says the stewards believe he did something wrong. I think most people's frustration is that the punishment didn't end up fitting the crime - he copped the penalty but CL copped damage which meant he finished in a worse position. We can all say 'that's racing' but the stewards need to ensure this doesn't become an excuse for poor driving standards or bad sportsmanship. My view (not just cos I don't like RKelly but because I've seen this happen a few times over the years watching nsw state champs) is that you should be excluded from the results if you're found to have caused an incident which puts another car out of the race or leaves them with damage which significantly reduces their competitiveness.
  4. Ahh so you're Tosh's new family! We wondered where he went after he stopped living in our spare room
  5. Gutted to hear R Kelly is the champ (for now). Missed the action because I was at the NSW Chrissie cruise but all sounds dodgy. Aside from the fact that Rick is a tool- it's a shame to see someone who has done so little for the sport end up on top of it.
  6. Sorry- we realised about 10 minutes after we got there that a game of something would have been great. Next year......
  7. ... and thanks for all the thanks! It's nice to know you enjoyed the cruise despite the crazy questions
  8. Thanks to everyone who came along today- we had a record 41 cars which is awesome! Congrats also to the winners: 1st: Kasey & Wayne (also winners of the "Biggest Effort Taken to get an Answer Prize", thanks to their chats with Raymond and the ferry blokes, along with their journey into the RSL for the memorial garden question) 2nd: Steve & Co-driver (sorry didn't catch their name- pls post and let us know) 3rd: Jason & Amanda (who probably still haven't quite recovered from last year's title winning performance). It was the closest contest yet and the perpetual trophy is again in good hands. Ofcourse we can't forget the winners of our *special* prizes: Most kms travelled: Keith & Team Least kms travelled: Liz Jane Most optimistic speedo: Liz Finally, special thanks to Mel & Neil, Adam, Nick and Rosie for all the help setting things up, getting people organised and fed and cleaning up! And welcome to the 5 new members who joined the club on the day!
  9. The cruise itself is around 100K.
  10. I'm calling last drinks for RSVPs now. The food has been bought and we're just about to get copies made of the instructions- hopefully everyone has had enough time to get themselves organised (now we need to!!!). Don't forget- you'll need to have at least one member of the SAU NSW Club in your car to come on the cruise tomorrow. This is not negotiable as we're running the cruise under a CAMS permit. If you're joining the club tomorrow don't forget to bring the application form and your extra cash to pay for your membership.
  11. Everyone who has said they're coming along should have a PM with details but let me know if I've missed anyone! We haven't been able to secure a shelter at the end location so please remember to chuck picnic blankets, folding chairs etc in before you head off on Sunday! Kel
  12. In the interest of getting catering organised can anyone planning to attend pls post by end of play Thursday (if you haven't already). Numbers are looking good with around 50 SAU-ers coming along. Cheers Kel
  13. You are a grumpy old bastard these days aren't you
  14. Patience Grasshoppers.... PMs should be arriving within the hour......
  15. Sorry guys- caught up with work. Details of start location will be PMd to members (and people who have said they'll be joining the club on the day) tomorrow. Kel
  16. We'll have a list from Shell of all members, and memberships in progress, on the day. Meeting place will be PMd to everyone who has RSVPd tomorrow. Kel
  17. Ahh so that's what that blue thing is Actually the comment wasn't directed at anyone specifically- just a general reminder that each car needs at least one club member given we're running the event under a CAMS permit.
  18. A friendly reminder.... you need to have at least one current SAU NSW Club member (different to being a member of the forums) in each car taking part.
  19. Hi Paul, The plan is everyone should be at the finishing spot by 1 for a barbie- should give you plenty of time to get home for that nap. Kel
  20. Geez you're a funny bastard Wilch (and did you by chance have a spy cam in the Zed when Duncan and I made up the clues cos that script is sounding very familiar!) Kel
  21. For the benefit of those who haven't been on a previous SAU observation cruise, this is how it works.... The starting location will be PMd the week before the event. We're running the event under a CAMS permit so you need to have at least one SAU NSW Club Member in your car to be involved. On the day, we have a quick briefing then we give you a set of instructions/clues on where you need to drive, along with questions about things you should see on the way. Cars start about 2 minutes apart & the drive itself should take about 2 hours to complete. If it all goes bad and you get lost, we give you a special envelope with instructions on how to find the finish. Once you get to the end location we have a barbie, give you the answers to the questions and announce the winner. Hope this helps? Kel
  22. I forgot to add that Duncan's not allowed anywhere near this year's instructions so everyone will have a chance at making the finish
  23. Better late than never right?! Happy B day B man!
