  1. If there's a "Team Late Crew" I can offically join it. Happy (team late) Bday Richard
  2. Happy to come up with some and post later in the week - some of us actually have to do work at work I'll start a seperate thread for everyone to make suggestions.
  3. Does anyone mind if I actually get back to talking about dinner? Have we ever actually had a dinner in any other area? I don't want to reignite an old argument but, from memory, most of the non-northside dinners were canned because the "regulars" didn't show support for any location mentioned which was south of the bridge Not exactly a great way to enourage people to come along.
  4. I see your point but also having seen the result of people engaging in street racing (and even ridicoulous speeding) alongside "random guys- I stand by my comments. I'd much rather see someone lose a licence instead of a life- regardless of whether a cop incited them to behave that way. The way I see it? If the cop didn't start it, the next bloke coming along in a WRX etc etc etc would. We all go a bit funny behind the wheel of a performance car- it's hard to realise at the time but I'd much rather a cop giving me and my hip pocket a lesson (marked or unmarked car), versus me killing someone street racing or speeding.
  5. Funny days when the dinner thread turns into a smack-down whore thread Now back on topic for real please ladies.... I'll come along. But, to be very honest, I love the dinners but don't like the fact they don't make it easy for everyone in the club to participate. I've given up lately because there's a very obvious northside slant to the locations (which actually works in my favour given where I live). We tried to move east/south/west but met heaps of resistance from the "regulars". Let's go with the attendees choose the next location, but let's also remember that not everyone in the club lives within 15 mins of chatswood.....
  6. Ummmm caught is caught as far as I'm concerned- whether it's by an undercover showing P plates or a cop in a normal patrol car. It's your decision whether you speed/ race on the street- it doesn't make it any less of a crime if you've been egged on by an undercover- it's your foot not theirs on the accelerator. At least an undercover might stop you before you do yourself or someone else serious damage.
  7. Sorry- no look see for us this weekend My brother's getting hitched and we need to get involved in all the family stuff which goes with it. Kel
  8. Looks like I'm out for flagging duties if you're after people with a "sensible attitude" I'm there with the Zed though if I can find time to put the GTR brakes on it. Kel
  9. I'm sure I've got a brochure somewhere- will see what I can find for the AGM
  10. I love the idea but can see it getting tricky. I'm sure everyone would go into it/use it with the best intent but that unfortunately doesn't count for much when things get broken or aren't returned on time. What about approaching someone already operating this kind of service and seeing if they'd be happy to offer a good discount/ good terms for the club? I know Kennards does some gear - I'm sure there are others? We get to offer some benefit for members with no risk.
  11. Funnily enough I have (thanks to the never ending kitchen renovation). Dinner at the Thai Noodle House in Gadesville anyone???? Well within stumbling distance for me
  12. Kel

    Buster

OMG- I know someone who knows someone famous now! Thanks Buster
  13. Very sensible- NOT I'm sure the cops wouldn't have minded spotting you, double demerits or not. /Kel stops speaking like your mumma now
  14. Damn! I don't live close enough to walk home from an Orchid Thai SAU dinner anymore!
  15. Kel votes 1 for lunch at Sky Phoenix- sensational food. For lovers of dumplings, you CAN'T go past Sea Bay on Pitt St (heading down towards Central- same block as word square). Doesn't look like too much from the outside, but the food is sensational, the owner is a sweeheart and the food is cheap. You'll also get the best Chicken Noodle Chilli Soup from the takeaway in the arcade running near the Commonwealth Bank (same block as Sea Bay). Can't remember the name of the place but you'll pick it by the queues lining up in rush hour and the tables outside with people slurping from bowls! Chicken burgers from Ogalo on Liverpool St also rock
  16. I'm a big Dutton fan - not cheap but a lot of fun. It all comes down to what you want to get out of the event - if you're driving anything but a Porker you'll find it hard to get noticed, meaning litte to no TV/mag coverage. (unless ocourse you do a Pete and drift the khana course, compete with a reverse slide into the finishing garage. If you're in it to win- you might find a Skyline (unfortunatey) is not suited to the wide range of events - you'll place high but find winning tough. If you're in for a good weekend you'll have one - even if you end up with a bloke like Pete in your team . I still have "fond" memories of the sound at 2am of Pete falling 2 stories off a hotel balcony, narrowly missing landing on the Lancia Delta Integrale parked below.
  17. and I want David Coulthardt (grrrrrrr) to win.......... but you can't always get what you want, Can't wait for the race- this is always the best one of the year. Shame it's not in Mebourne.
  18. I'm with Tommy- NO INTEREST We're a car club goddamit!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. That was me actually- I only let D drive the Zed on special occasions. Hope you're not saying I look like a bloke
  20. Someone once said that when you pick up your beautiful new car you should take out a key and scratch it/ or put your foot into the door and make a dent in it/ or do any of the million things out of your control that are more than likely to happen in the life of your ownership of that car......... and get over it. A bit extreme me thinks, but the comment made me realise that no matter what steps you take, your car will most likely sustain some kind of damage at someone elses hands in the time you own it. So I choose to drive it every chance I get, be careful where I park it, but realise that it will most likely end up with battle scars, and have an insurance policy to fix it if those scars get extreme. Another tip: if you are unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident, hav a chat to your panel beater about fixing those battle scars while they do the insurance work. They're more than likely to fix them at low to no cost.
  21. And who are those old bastards posing on your cars fellas? I swear, the standards of those promo people just keep getting lower......
  22. Yep. Absolutely no idea what you're talking about Duncan
  23. IN IN IN!!!! Better get my finger out and put those GTR brakes on the Zed..
  24. Other option is to always park next to cars more expensive than your own
  25. I have the same scrape on the rear wheel arch of the Zed. Happened in the carpark at work and the black paint on the bumper of a 4wd that often parks next to me gave a pretty good indication of who might have been responsible. Funnily enough they haven't responded to the note I left on their windscreen saying I think they might have "accidently" touch parked me.
