  1. You were looking pretty good yourself Moanie! The night ended with me suitably trashed- hope you had a good one too! Spotted lots of Skylines in the carparks around Autosalon today. You definitely didn't need to go inside for a show!
  2. We should all be at the destination by 1. Then it's a barbie lunch, running through the answers to the questions and maybe a game of soccer if anyone's feeling energetic. Should finish up around 4 but everyone free to leave earlier or later. The cruise will end approx. 2 hours from Sydney (and you'll be south west/south for most of the day). Hope this helps? Kel
  3. Yup- member = bring along a non-member for free
  4. Should add that you'll still need to be a member or arrive with a member in the car to join us at the end, given the entire event runs under CAMs permit.
  5. There's no real "cruising" involved- as with other years, cars will leave close together (approx. 1 min apart) and meet up at the end. You'll see people as you're driving around but it won't be like a normal cruise/procession. I promise it will still be good fun though! If anyone can't find a passenger to run with, it may be better to PM me and we can give details of where we'll be meeting up at the end (provided you don't share this info with anyone actually doing the observation cruise!).
  6. You'll need at least one passenger to spot the answer to questions and write them down, or will be in for a VERRRRRRRRY long day otherwise. Fatz tried it a few years ago running with his dog as navigator. Let's just say he didn't get too many questions right.....
  7. OKAY - Just confirming new details..... Given we will run the event under CAMS permit each car needs to be carrying an SAU NSW Club Member. We've also changed the cost slightly- it will still be free for one member and one guest. Additional non-members will be at a small cost - gotta to make sure we keep the SAU Bank Balance looking healthy Non-Members are more than welcome to sign up on the day Besides being able to come along to the Christmas Party, you'll also get 12-months of other club benefits, including discounts at club Sponsors, access to drag days, track days and other events at special club pricing, and lots more! Thanks Kel
  8. Sorry guys- will change the invite to reflect the one member per car requirement. Kel
  9. Still think I will be away but if I'm in town I'll be out there to cheer you on
  10. And just what is it with that finger out the window Pete?
  11. LOL- Wilch=Owned! Looking forward to seeing you both (and everyone) there.
  12. Fck we're funny.
  13. Pete- it's like everything about you. CLASSY.
  14. Best. In-car. Ever. And I still want to meet Russ.
  15. LOL gotta watch that 8- the Zed and I came to a bit of grief there a few years back on a Dutton Rally run. But it is definitely lots of fun and worth doing if you get the chance.
  16. Glad you liked it Liz- we'll have to get you into the khanas next year! I'll be in on the 9th too if it's not completely booked out with SAU-ers. Adam, can you email the form- I'm having trouble with it too.
  17. ....and can you let me know if any kind of expectation has been set (particularly with the venue you're hiring) that this is an SAU NSW Club thing? If this is the case we'll need to organise CAMS permits which the exec can help with. Not sure if I'll be able to attend given I think I'll be travelling, but best of luck with it (see, us Exec Members can say nice stuff).
  18. Paul, I'm not hugely interested in keeping this bullshit going, and I'm definitely not interested in fighting battles for Duncan (as many have said he's big enough and ugly enough to fight them himself- doesn’t need me to post on his behalf). But I actually do take offence to your last comment about the exec committee and our "hangers on". The highhorse/mouthing off comments are not all that friendly either. By all means have opinions - I respect anyone who has one whether I agree with it or not- but please think before you post them. Hell, even read them and try to imagine what the people you’re directing them at might think as they read them. You have a go about the comments directed at you, but completely ignore the fact that your own comments could be viewed as derogatory (the way you’ve used the term "Hangers on" in this instance wasn't exactly friendly, nor was what you inferred). And for the record, the exec and their "hangers on" put a bloody lot of their own time into organising the club - making phone calls from work to negotiate club discounts, accepting deliveries of club merchandise despite the raised eyebrows of bosses, pushing CAMs paperwork about, and, as Adam has proven, spending their days writing scary letters to WSID to make sure people get their money back when things don’t go so good. I don't think any of the exec, or the “hangers on” expect everyone on SAU to bow down and worship at the alter of the great SAU club execs, but at the same time we don't get paid anything for doing this. In fact, we don't even charge for things like fuel to get to meetings which many clubs do (I'm sure Dan and Shell would be far better off if we introduced those kind of rules). All I'd ask is that you- well everyone actually- extend the same courtesy you expect of others- think of how what you're about to say could be viewed before you type.
  19. Hear hear on the Leaner Driver call- we all had to start somewhere!
  20. Here's the thread - unfortunately it doesn't look like the vid is still up What about the brakes Russ? Starts around post #34. Did anyone save a copy?
  21. I'm now convinced teh Hoff is everywhere
  22. it has to be said.... "What about the brakes Russ?"
  23. Yeah, I want to have his babies and I don't even like kids.
  24. It could have been me today- but for a different reason. Track (oops I mean Victoria Road) was a slow run home thanks to a poor crunched R33(?) at Drummoyne. I was getting very pissed off at the spanners cruising along in the (faster flowing) lanes which lead along to the distributor, and then cutting into the lanes which turn into Victoria Road at the last minute. This is one of those moments when Kel says: Sure, cmon in. I've just been sitting in banked up traffic for half an hour so you can zoom along and cut in at the last second. No worries! C'mon in! NOT
