Paul, I'm not hugely interested in keeping this bullshit going, and I'm definitely not interested in fighting battles for Duncan (as many have said he's big enough and ugly enough to fight them himself- doesn’t need me to post on his behalf).
But I actually do take offence to your last comment about the exec committee and our "hangers on".
The highhorse/mouthing off comments are not all that friendly either.
By all means have opinions - I respect anyone who has one whether I agree with it or not- but please think before you post them.
Hell, even read them and try to imagine what the people you’re directing them at might think as they read them.
You have a go about the comments directed at you, but completely ignore the fact that your own comments could be viewed as derogatory (the way you’ve used the term "Hangers on" in this instance wasn't exactly friendly, nor was what you inferred).
And for the record, the exec and their "hangers on" put a bloody lot of their own time into organising the club - making phone calls from work to negotiate club discounts, accepting deliveries of club merchandise despite the raised eyebrows of bosses, pushing CAMs paperwork about, and, as Adam has proven, spending their days writing scary letters to WSID to make sure people get their money back when things don’t go so good.
I don't think any of the exec, or the “hangers on” expect everyone on SAU to bow down and worship at the alter of the great SAU club execs, but at the same time we don't get paid anything for doing this.
In fact, we don't even charge for things like fuel to get to meetings which many clubs do (I'm sure Dan and Shell would be far better off if we introduced those kind of rules).
All I'd ask is that you- well everyone actually- extend the same courtesy you expect of others- think of how what you're about to say could be viewed before you type.
