  1. All drooling aside- I hope DC gets a drive next season. It looks like he still might have a chance at one of the spots with Red Bull Racing? Hey Richard, what have you organised for Melb? I am pushing to do the Grand Prix rally next year (if the GTR is back on the road). Failing that, I'm sure to be making my way down there anyway.
  2. Inspired by conversations with friends, and an article in Autospeed this week, I'm thinking of saying goodbye to the warranty and having some fun with the Zed. Looking for improved performance, not rice Any suggestions?
  3. I also hate those 'baby on board' signs people stick in their rear windows - I feel like pulling up to them and saying "I was about to drive into your car, but now I know you've got a kid in there, I'll behave myself" Some chick once told me it's so I'd know she had a baby in there in an accident, but funnily enough, I find it's these people who drive like the biggest d*cks on the road.....
  4. I have nothing against Bling wheels, but I hate seeing them on crappy old utes - seems to be the thing in Syd atm
  5. I think I'll be there watching - I like to watch The Zed has to wait 2 weeks for parts, but there's a nasty clunk in the steering so no track for me
  6. Another fave - Lady Penelope is my home girl!
  7. I want the model with the rocket launchers and machine guns- would make dealing with peak hour so much easier
  8. :drooling: The Aston Martin Vanquish in Die Another Day :drooling: (well, just about any car featured in a James Bond movie actually)
  9. my advice to you- don't get in a car with him driving!
  10. I'd settle for the cred- all I seem to get atm is the 'stupid woman driver' looks!
  11. There if the Zed is not in getting fixed : (
  12. Kel

    GTR Convertible!

    I'd buy it!
  13. Hmmmm - how come marrying a rich bloke with a nice car hasn't made this list?
  14. wOOt - a blue one!!!! I'm going to put in a bid and collect the whole set! In all seriousness, I've seen this car/ a similar car near home (not many with the blue plates?)- might have to have a chat with the driver if I see them again soon....
  15. Okay- a correction - if you can't afford third party property insurance as a minimum- you shouldn't be taking your car onto the road. The value of your car shouldn't be the only consideration- it's the damage you can potentially do other cars which makes basic insurance a neccessity. Afterall, it's called an "accident" for a reason....
  16. Hmmm - only time I ever listened to my dad was when he told me if you can't afford insurance, you can't afford the car. And on a not so nice note, I heard on the news tonight that the truck driver involved in that horrible accident on the F3 was uninsured......
  17. but you're always asking me to take the top of Toshi?
  18. top down? CHECK - we are talking roof here right? sunnies? CHECK driving like a hoon? CHECK- who do you think taught me how to drive
  19. Sorry to say dad's a Ford man - lucky I saw the light!
  20. I remember being on the freeway on L plates (back in the days when you were restricted to 70) and my dad was saying "c'mon, just go 10 kays faster, I won't tell your mother". This is also the bloke who chopped the springs and added extractors on my first car - anyone looking to be adopted?
  21. .... and you drive like a...... oh hang on, we've seen what you do to rental cars, I know one set of keys you'll never be getting again!
  22. how come noone spots me driving the zed - it's my freakin car afterall!
  23. Foznice, don't worry about it - you sound like you're doing the right thing. I think unfortunately there are a large number of idiots on the road who think an L or P plate is their excuse to go on a power trip (and convieniently forget they were once in the same situation). A couple of years ago, after years of driving an auto, I saw the light and went manual. I decided to take some lessons with a driving instructor, and used his little car (complete with the signage for his driving school) for the session. Even though there was no L plate on the car, the signage was a bit obvious, and the way other drivers treated me was astounding. I'd been driving for at least 8 years when I took the lessons, and didn't actually have any probs with the manual, but most other drivers assumed I had no idea because of the car I was in. I had one idiot in a Pajero overtake me on double white lines, round a blind corner, even though I was sitting on the speed limit (and driving along quite nicely if I do say so myself!) I waved to the kids she was keeping safe in the back as she drove past. The instructor just shook his head and said it happened all the time, regardless of how his students were actually driving.
  24. I am sympathising- some lovely person has used my front bar to help with their parking- shame they had a tow bar. I also had another nice person (probably a relative) open their door into my passengers'. Remind me again why I am always so careful when parking?
